2 Times in my life that I am aware off. Both times while on a road trip / vacation. I was in a part of a state that I have never traveled in before. Pulled off of the Interstate Highway to find someplace to eat and fill up the gas tank. As soon as I got off of the highway I knew right where everything was a few miles away. I knew a different route to take to get back on the highway ( not marked as a route) And I some how was calling out sights to look at before we even came to them. Some how I just knew. The second time we were traveling back roads to cut across a southern state. For some reason I started to sing Christmas songs ( it was the middle of summer ) And with in a mile or two we came to a small town called Santa's Hideaway or something like that. The whole town had Christmas decorations and lights up etc. It was just plain strange.
this is where all bachelor parties took place when i lived in toledo. apparently it's shut down now, due to breaking some law that prohibits selling alcohol and having full nudity between midnight at 2am.
being someplace you've never been before in waking life that you've been to in a dream and they're a perfect match. it's only a mystery because we almost never remember having dreamed it, of course its equally a mystery why and how this should happen. one possibility is that our dreams are not completely confined to within our own head, but take place in a parallel universe that is like this one but not the same. same kinds of details, but geographically rearranged as our subconscious would optimize it. or where towns that are east and west of each other are literally due east or west instead of also being a long way north or south. for example if san francisco were due west of sacramento. things that your eye doesn't tell you when you're in a place, so that they could be the same even when they're not. when something seems more normal then it could possibly be, it seems like it has to be strange. the reason i think this way is because sometimes i do latter realize that i had dreamed it before experiencing it. so people can tell me all kinds of other explanations, but that is what my experience of it is. we all have waaaaay more dreams then we ever remember waking up, no matter how good we may get at doing so. and people to try to turn off or deny thier imaginations, for whatever reason, often of cultural or religious beliefs, the more they become real in dreams. dreams that are burried in the haystack of other dreams. and of course those of us who accept our imaginations, while of course not confusing them with the world we're awake in, have them too. just forgotten vivid dreams that we sometimes find ourselves in identical places in waking life. and what's weird is there's no paricular waking time relationship. could be two days or fifty years. doesn't matter how long ago you actually dreamt that dream, how thoroughly you've forgotten ever having had it, you probably woke up with no memory of ever having had it. its only much later then both the dream and the experience that having had the dream occurs to you, if and when it ever does. i think people try to make something different out of these kinds of things then they are, but the unknown being unknown doesn't prevent anything from being. and of course there's always, how things work inside my own head, may not be the same for someone else. but i really do suspect, sometimes they are. they're certainly not the same as what i hear many people claiming they do inside of theirs. but i also suspect that being the results of people taking cultural shortcuts instead of making objective observations.
Thank you for shining light on whether dreams have a connection to that lovely feeling of already seen.
