Limbaugh is of the type that thinks smoking cures lung cancer. Smoking is good for you. It coats the lungs with tar and makes them nice and strong.

Trump should make Limbaugh the head of the CDC.

I've been trying to give up Hip Forums for Lent. I hope Jesus will forgive this public service announcement. At his South Carolina rally yesterday, Trump called the corona virus a "hoax" perpetuated by the Dems to hurt him politically . Trump calls coronavirus Democrats' 'new hoax' So there you have it. Those who put their faith in this man are essentially betting their lives, health and prosperity on his honesty, integrity, & competence. Good luck!

    Stop being a Drama Queen

"Now the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus,” Trump said. “They have no clue, they can't even count their votes in Iowa.”

“This is their new hoax,” Trump continued, adding that attacking the White House’s response to the coronavirus had become the Democratic Party’s “single talking point.”

Stop being a cover up artist for the Orange One. He said it loud and clear: Hoax:
"1. An act intended to deceive or trick.
    2. Something that has been established or accepted by fraudulent means."
However you try to spin it, his words and actions are dismissive of the problem, and would seem to encourage complacency. We'll find out soon enough how real and serious the "hoax" is. Four cases unrelated to travel in China reported in the U.S. so far & counting. Realty bites!
He also (same rally) encouraged Republican voters to vote Democrat in the primary and to vote for the weakest candidate, who he thinks is Bernie! Open primaries: what a stupid idea!
    Back to Lent.

Saying the Dems politicizing the virus, that's their new hoax isn't that same as calling the virus a hoax. Any half wit can work that out

It's not splitting hairs, we know what he meant, you know what he meant, but the reality doesn't fit your little agenda of attack, attack, attack

It's not going to spread in the US the same way because shit like this happens:

"The Washington state case involves a boy at Jackson High School in Snohomish County. The school will be closed on Monday as it undergoes deep cleaning following the student's diagnosis"

At least 4 of the dozens of US coronavirus cases are not linked to overseas travel but are likely the result of 'community spread'

You have the resources and the money to handle it.

No one's going to care if he cut funding to the overseas ebola team two years ago, it's easy just to jump back on it and get a new team together

    This is getting soooo old

Yeah, now look at the stats from individual countries

Especially South Korea vs Iran and Italy.

Sth Korea 3150 cases, only 17 deaths as of 13 hrs ago

Iran 388 cases comparatively a whopping 34 deaths

Having a health system where health officials are too scared to speak up is one of the big factors

Italy too seemingly handling it worse that Sth Korea and Japan, 1000 cases, 29 deaths already. Noticeably worse

Two more women have come down with Corona Virus in Kirkland Washington..

  14. No shit. The idea that cigars gave him lung cancer is a stretch. Especially since it was discovered so late in the game for him, a possibility that it metastasized from another point, like bone or liver cancer. Cancer is not a straight line any more than genetics is. Considering all the time his show has been guest hosted by goobers, I'd wager this fight with cancer has been going on longer than his pain killer addiction.

Also, he once said that feminism is revenge on men for not having periods. I don't think he's actually in touch with any real women.

I certainly hope you're right. The stock market doesn't seem to be convinced, and Trump's cuts in the CDC budget put us at a disadvantage. His Secretary of Homeland Security was unable to answer basic questions about the corona virus when questioned by Senators including conservative Republicans. Also, it seems the U.S. State Department allowed corona virus-infected Americans home from the Diamond Princess against the advice of the CDC. https://www.washingtonpost.com/heal...f54cae-5279-11ea-b119-4faabac6674f_story.html But we'll know soon enough. If the cases of corona have stabilized by May, people are going about their daily lives as usual, and the stock market is on the upswing, the U.S. may have dodged the bullet. Otherwise, people like you who are minimizing the problem will have egg on their faces, and Trump will be in big trouble election-wise.

Well, that video is a bit silly, wouldn't expect the head of Homeland security to know the number of respirators in America. And Anderson Cooper no doubt realises that, and yet continues

Stock market tanked because there are too many China only supply chains involved, especially with antibiotics, and reliance on China is why companies like Apple took such a huge hit. But it's already recovering

I point to the way Sth Korea has handled it as to why it won't be as serious in countries like US, Aus, Canada...the poorer EU countries however, well watch

Hmmmm - wasn't it only a few days ago that Nellie the hephalump announced that (a) the US was 'free' of Corovid -19, and (b) that there wouldn't be any deaths from this virus in the us. YET ANOTHER LIE !!!

US increases travel restrictions as Trump confirms first coronavirus death

The US is banning travel to Iran in response to the outbreak of the Covid-19 coronavirus and elevating travel warnings to regions of Italy and South Korea.

Vice president Mike Pence announced the new restrictions and warnings as President Donald Trump said 22 people in the US have been infected with the coronavirus, including one who has died and four who are deemed "very ill", and that additional cases are "likely".

Mr Trump added that he was considering additional restrictions, including closing the US border with Mexico in response to the virus's spread. But he added: "This is not a border that seems to be much of a problem right now."

Coronavirus continues to spread across globe
"We're thinking about all borders," he continued.

President @realDonaldTrump has expanded travel restrictions on Iran. He has also upgraded travel advisories to Level 4, urging Americans to not travel to areas in Italy and South Korea most affected by the coronavirus. pic.twitter.com/0u7KSvBtKM

    — The White House (@WhiteHouse) February 29, 2020

Travel to Iran is already quite limited, though some families are allowed to travel there on a visa. It is one of the seven initial countries on Mr Trump's travel ban list, which means travel from Iran also is already severely restricted.

Secretary of health and human services Alex Azar said: "We want to lower the amount of travel to and from the most impacted areas. This is a basic containment strategy."

Mr Trump provided an update on the virus from the White House press briefing room for the second time this week after the first reported US death of someone he described as having a high medical risk before contracting the virus.

Robert Redfield, director of the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention said there was "no evidence of link to travel" in the case of the person who died.

The governor of Washington state declared a state of emergency following the death.

It is a sad day as we learn a Washingtonian has died from COVID-19. Our hearts go out to his family and friends.

We are strengthening our preparedness and response efforts to keep Washingtonians healthy, safe and informed.

    — Governor Jay Inslee (@GovInslee) February 29, 2020

Governor Jay Inslee directed state agencies to use "all resources necessary" to prepare for and respond to the outbreak. The declaration also allows the use of the Washington National Guard, if necessary.

Dr Jeffrey Duchin, a Seattle and King county health official who works with the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, said the person who died was a man in his 50s.

Health officials in California, Oregon and Washington state are worried about Covid-19 spreading through West Coast communities after confirming at least three patients were infected by unknown means. The patients had not visited an area where there was an outbreak, nor apparently been in contact with anyone who had.

CDC Director Robert Redfield: "As we stand here today, the risk to the American public remains low." pic.twitter.com/BKAeIqfaba

    — The White House (@WhiteHouse) February 29, 2020

Mr Trump said healthy Americans should be able to recover if they contract the new virus, as he tried to reassure Americans and global markets spooked by the virus threat.

On Friday, health officials confirmed a second case of Covid-19 in the US in a person who did not travel internationally or have close contact with anyone who had the virus. The US has a total of about 60 confirmed cases.

But Mr Trump encouraged Americans not to alter their daily routines, saying "there's no reason to panic at all".

He said: "You're talking about 22 people right now in this whole very vast country. I think we'll be in very good shape."

Mr Trump spoke a day after he denounced criticism of his response to the threat as a "hoax" cooked up by his political enemies. Speaking at a rally in South Carolina he accused Democrats of "politicising" the coronavirus threat and boasted about preventive steps he has ordered in an attempt to keep the virus that originated in China from spreading across the United States. Those steps include barring entry by most foreign nationals who had recently visited China.

"They tried the impeachment hoax. ... This is their new hoax," Mr Trump said of Democratic denunciations of his administration's coronavirus response.

Mr Trump said he was not trying to minimise the threat of the virus.

"Again, the hoax was used in respect to Democrats and what they were saying," he said.

Some Democrats have said Mr Trump could have acted sooner to bolster the US response to the virus. Democratic and Republican members of Congress have also said his request for an additional 2.5 billion dollars to defend against the virus is not enough. They have signalled they will provide substantially more funding.

Mr Trump said Democrats want him to fail and argued that steps he has taken so far have kept cases to a minimum and prevented virus deaths in the US.

As global markets plunged this week, Mr Trump predicted they will come back, and encouraged the US Federal Reserve to cut interest rates.

He said: "The markets will all come back. I think the Fed has a very important role, especially psychological. If you look at it, the Fed has a massive impact."

Obama signed the multilateral JCPOA with the formal state of Iran that was effective. Members inluded China, France, Russia, U.K., U.S., and Germany. It passed the Senate with a vote of 98-1

Trump tore up the agreement to spite Obama and replaced it with provocations that destablized the region. It was implemented by his son-in-law with no experience who was made a senior official and minister-of-everything by Trump.

With no Senate involvement and in the spirit of his 'only Trump can fix it' pathology, Trump unilaterally signs a deal with the Taliban that is not recognized as a state (with the exception of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and UAE) and is a recognized terror group. It amounts to the U.S. surrendering to the Taliban, and yet he complains about Obama.

The previous Trump showboating stunt had planned to have the Taliban at the White House on the week of the 9/11 anniversary, an event and timing that couldn't be more boneheaded. Even Trump's acting handlers didn't want to showcase such a stunt, and the event was canceled.

Didn't "tear up" the deal to "spite Obama". Deal is still in effect. Stop making shit up

"On 30 April 2018 the United States and Israel said that Iran had not disclosed a past covert nuclear weapons program to the IAEA, as required by the 2015 deal.[12][13]

On 8 May 2018, Trump announced United States withdrawal from JCPOA.[14][15] Following the U.S.'s withdrawal, the EU enacted an updated blocking statute on 7 August 2018 to nullify US sanctions on countries trading with Iran.[16] In November 2018 U.S. sanctions came back into effect intended to force Iran to dramatically alter its policies, including its support for militant groups in the region and its development of ballistic missiles.[17]"
