Because most people live in the fearful delusion that to give to another means to lose something themselves. They haven't learned what every great spiritual teacher has demonstrated, that the more you give, the more you have. I once bought sanitary towels for a homeless and visibly distressed Spanish girl. She was being ignored by everyone she asked. In the end she was standing there, in tears, talking out loud to no one in particular (in Spanish, so I didn't understand at that point). It still astounds me that so many people would be so callous. She was ignored as if not even there. I can't imagine how humiliating and horrible it was for her.
Really?!?? I knew he was self quarantining because he was exposed to it but didnt know he had tested positive That is....sorry I know I shouldnt wish ill on anyone but that is some poetic justice.
It is that bad. Any beer that you need a citrus cut to make it bearable is just a not drink worth trying in the first place. Mind you we don't drink it here in Germany, but I know a lot of people that do in Australia and yuck. I'd rather go a VB and ask anyone of these Australians, that's saying something.
How old is your stepdaughter? I don't know your situation of course, but I will just say that my dad remarried after my mom died and I resented his second wife (I won't call her my stepmom under any situation) trying to impose her "authority." She should have instead tried to be my friend and nothing more. All that happened is that I couldn't stand her.
in the dispo the other day. some kids in there, mother was in the bathroom .. boy was playing with an hour glass. its probably from a dollar store. its junk and I play with it myself.. security told the child not to play with it, "its not a toy" she said.. so I said "let him play with it, if he breaks it Ill buy yinz another one".. she sniffed and walked back in the office.. now my tender pulls me to the back and I tell the little boy "your are on your own my man".. when I come out they was gone. Hour glass not broken. He wasnt bother anything other than being a child..
Some don't like information or discussion. Only pictures of cats, dogs, coffee cups, shirts and drunk Japanese passed out in the street. Good try, though.
The themed thread actually was fun and interesting. There was/is quite a bit of interesting info there.
The thing about that 'history is written by the victor' statement is it mainly counts when there's no free speech or the majority of the citizenry is illiterate. So it counted for the majority part of history, and it still holds true in certain countries. But as long as you have access to pretty much any author and perception of historic events isn't limited to a certain 'side', this is for a large part a thing of the past
