If you accept that $1000, as far as your own personal value system goes, you'd basically be giving him a blowjob.

Unzipping the fly, taking it all the way, slurp slurp, $1000 Mr Trump? Suckie Suckie, I love you long time

U.S. Virus Plan Anticipates 18-Month Pandemic and Widespread Shortages

U.S. Virus Plan Anticipates 18-Month Pandemic and Widespread Shortages

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON — A federal government plan to combat the coronavirus warned policymakers last week that a pandemic “will last 18 months or longer” and could include “multiple waves,” resulting in widespread shortages that would strain consumers and the nation’s health care system.

The 100-page plan, dated Friday, the same day President Donald Trump declared a national emergency, laid out a grim prognosis for the spread of the virus and outlined a response that would activate agencies across the government and potentially employ special presidential powers to mobilize the private sector.

Among the “additional key federal decisions” listed among the options for Trump was invoking the Defense Production Act of 1950, a Korean War-era law that authorizes a president to take extraordinary action to force American industry to ramp up production of critical equipment and supplies such as ventilators, respirators and protective gear for health care workers.

“Shortages of products may occur, impacting health care, emergency services, and other elements of critical infrastructure,” the plan warned. “This includes potentially critical shortages of diagnostics, medical supplies (including PPE and pharmaceuticals), and staffing in some locations.” PPE refers to personal protective equipment."

Presidents are supposed to act pragmatically to solve problems, and most have in the past without requiring a crisis to force them to do so.

When Trump finally appears to be starting to act pragmatically to save his reelection bid after wasting three years on his trade, immigration, and culture war masturbations.

He and his suporters act like he has a accomplished a great feat that no other president has achieved.

And that is the only reason... saving his reelection. He doesn't give two shits about anything else.

If waves of the same virus can last long-term such as 18 months, there is no guarantee that other viruses independent of the current one won't materialize and overlap it.

No that sounds like what you would do: Suck and Gulp. For your information Trump is now going to give all Americans $2000 and you will not get any of it.

Let’s Never Forget That Trump and Fox News Started as Coronavirus Truthers

Let’s Never Forget That Trump and Fox News Started as Coronavirus Truthers

    excerpt:

"President Donald Trump doesn’t tell the truth that often and neither does Fox News. Both, however, seem to have come around to the idea that the coronavirus is not only a bad thing but a real thing. It took each a long time to put aside their own political or financial self-interest in an alternative reality where everything was fine and Trump was to thank, but they more or less got there eventually. We obviously have bigger problems to face at the moment than the damage done nightly by Sean Hannity’s Biff-Tannen-does-the-news routine, though the president lying over and over and over again will never not be a grave threat. It is even more of a problem now, during a pandemic, when people are looking for enlightened leadership and where accuracy and straightforwardness can stave off panic, save lives, and inspire confidence."

The President as Bystander: Trump Struggles to Unify a Nation on Edge

The President as Bystander: Trump Struggles to Unify a Nation on Edge

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON — As he confronts the most serious crisis of his tenure, President Trump has been assertive in closing borders to many outsiders, one of his favorite policies. But within the United States, as the coronavirus spreads from one community to another, he has been more follower than leader.

While he presents himself as the nation’s commanding figure, Mr. Trump has essentially become a bystander as school superintendents, sports commissioners, college presidents, governors and business owners across the country take it upon themselves to shut down much of American life without clear guidance from the president.

For weeks, he resisted telling Americans to cancel or stay away from large gatherings, reluctant even on Thursday to call off his own campaign rallies even as he grudgingly acknowledged he would probably have to. Instead, it fell to Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the government’s most famous scientist, to say publicly what the president would not, leading the nation’s basketball, hockey, soccer and baseball leagues in just 24 hours to suspend play and call off tournaments."

George Galloway just said that Capitalism is one virus away from existential disaster. Trump just proved him right.

Kushner coronavirus team sparks confusion, plaudits inside White House response efforts

    excerpts:

"Two senior officials said some government officials have become increasingly confused as they have received emails from private industry employees on Kushner’s team and have been on conference calls with them, unsure what their exact role is in the government response. Several people involved in the response said the involvement of outside advisers — who are emailing large groups of government employees from private email addresses — also raises legitimate security concerns about whether these advisers are following proper government protocols.

“We don’t know who these people are,” one senior official said. “Who is this? We’re all getting these emails.”"

"The president has grown frustrated with him at times — including over his widely criticized Oval Office address last week, which Kushner helped write — but he remains family and so far has outlasted and outmaneuvered internal rivals.

Kushner — who already has an overly large portfolio, which had become the subject of mockery by his critics — did not become involved in the virus response until last week, at the request of Pence’s chief of staff. Kushner had previously counseled the president that the media and some in the administration were overreacting to the threat of the virus."

Coronavirus 'stealth spreaders' become new chief concern for doctors — here's what it means

Coronavirus 'stealth spreaders' become new chief concern for doctors — here's what it means

    excerpt:

"Stealth transmission is not unique to the coronavirus

Scientists reached the conclusion through a computer modeling program that allowed them to analyze data from China’s epidemic. Through it, they found that as many as 86 percent of cases in Wuhan — where the virus originated — went “undetected” prior to a January 23 travel shut down. “The explosion of COVID-19 cases in China was largely driven by individuals with mild, limited, or no symptoms who went undetected,” the study’s co-author Jeffrey Shaman, PhD, professor of environmental health sciences at Columbia University Mailman School said in a statement. “Depending on their contagiousness and numbers, undetected cases can expose a far greater portion of the population to [a] virus than would otherwise occur.”

Having no symptoms doesn’t mean your body isn’t fighting the virus

Petri says that there isn’t one mechanism behind catching a virus without symptoms — meaning, it could either be the body ignoring the virus altogether or fighting it off quietly without causing negative reactions in the body. In this outbreak, he suspects it’s the latter. “I think more often than not, when you have a subclinical infection without any symptoms that your immune system is doing a really good job, you know — because you're not getting yelled at,” says Petri. “And so maybe this 86 percent of people who have subclinical COVID-19, maybe we can learn from them. What is an effective immune response?”"

I dont know man, I think at the moment you might be redirecting a certain amount of fear, anger, frustration about the current world situation into this topic

I always thought this thread was too weird, a few of you just way too obsessed with this guy

Before this current crisis nothing Trump did was ever that important in the grand scheme of things

And with the current crisis, the potential is for the shit to really hit the fan the world over

...and yet some of you are still going on about his tax returns

There is something wrong will you all

I think it’s because he doesn’t actually like Trump. He dislikes the loudest detractors more though, for the reasons he just laid out to Okie. I think that’s the whole deal.
    Fake outrage and sanctimony
VG is on a fruitless quest to challenge it all.

See @Vanilla Gorilla , I get what you’re laying down.

Sounds like outsiders are in charge of the Trump/Kushner White House. Maybe, we should start calling it The Trump Out House?

This is one of the problems with the shadow government that Trump is running comprised of relatives and personal associates. They have little or no formal and recognizable government attribution. Businesses aren't sure of the identity of such people and are confused and suspicious.

It's like a stranger showing up at one's front door with no registration tag from the city and claiming that he's here to help. Most people wouldn't trust such a person.

The White House issued a cocky response to journlists who pointed out the concerns of businesses by saying that everyone at the White House knows what's going on and isn't confused.

The White House may know the identity of the shadow agents but those outside don't.
