  2. Worry not, pigs are not flying (except in Wuhan).

It's only because I don't like republicans any more than I like democrats. I really do try to stay in the center.

  3. An update, Elizabeth Warren (aka Fauxcahontas/Gray Beaver) wants to add student loan forgiveness to the bill, which will sink it even faster than the rest of this wish list. Why does it seem like democrats are trying to sabotage this?

LOL The right is the centre to you?

He also said there should have been more testing in the Lombardy region where there was an outbreak and described Italy's initial response as "lazy in the beginning" and that "too much politics in Italy" might have deepened the crisis. But "racism " made the headline. A policy is racist if it discriminates against a racial or ethnic population for no good reason. Keeping out people from a country that's been exposed to a contagious disease is a good reason, much like quarantining a measles patient--especially if the exclusion is based on immediate geographical origin instead of race or ethnicity. Florida has belatedly decided to quarantine travelers from New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey. The problem with that is Florida has yet to impose social distancing restrictions on its own residents, and is closing the door after Spring Break. As the prof said, "lazy in the beginning". Same might be said of Trump. He closed out travel from China in January, but continued to downplay the need for action here at home, was out of step with the CDC, and characterized concern over the virus as a Democrat "hoax" and Obama's fault. As the professor said, " lazy in the beginning" and "too much politics":

I don't know about all that. I doubt he'll get re-elected. He does get a lot of help from that McConnell, don't he now? IMG_20200209_0001.jpg

Ok--I appreciate your comment. I am definitely not anyone special. There are millions upon millions just like me. I hope trump can succeed in this time of crisis.

I would not want any president of this country to do harm , because what a president does and says affects ALL of us. If he can grow up and start being presidential, it will help all of us. Yes, my opinions and language about him have been very strongly worded.

I have been around from FDR through Truman, Eisenhower,JFK,etc, etc. My life is almost over. My opinion of trump remains the same, however I DO hope he can manage to bring himself to change for the better, especially now.

However, narcissism and insecurity are not qualities that make me optimistic about the man.

    Here is the quote:
Now it depends on how you want to read this.

"One of my people came up to me and said, ‘Mr. President, they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia." Here he is referring from the previous paragraph to the Democrats (and others although he leaves the others out) and the investigation into the Russians interfering in our election.
"That didn’t work out too well." In his opinion.
"They couldn’t do it." It's not clear what he means here as he was impeached but not removed form office.
"They tried the impeachment hoax." Again, what is he talking about? He was impeached, no hoax there.
"That was on a perfect conversation." In his opinion. Of course the "perfect conversation" was one of the factors that got him impeached.
"They tried anything, they tried it over and over, they’ve been doing it since you got in." Is he talking to himself or what?
"It’s all turning, they lost, it’s all turning." What's turning?
"Think of it. Think of it." Think of what?
"And this is their new hoax." What's their new hoax? He was talking about his impeachment, politicizing the cornea virus, counting votes, and the Russian investigation.

Is he saying the Russian meddling in the election was a hoax pushed by the Democrats and now the cornea virus is also a hoax being pushed by the Democrats?
So what's the new hoax? The virus itself or the Democrats' reaction to it?

  20. It's clearly a metaphor for whatever their next scheme is going to be. The schemes started in early 2016 and haven't stopped. First they went for humiliation, which is probably impossible with a guy like Trump. In fact, all they likely accomplished was pissing him off and cementing his resolve. Maybe they thought he'd be easy to chase away. After all, most republicans are. Or they are easily bought.

But that's all he's talking about, the old "never let a crisis go to waste" thinking that blossomed after 9/11. And again, this recording is from well after he had enacted measures to deal with the virus. So it's quite clear he's not dealing with an actual hoax and isn't saying it is one. The best you can do is go for the literal placement of words.

God help you with Biden on that idea.
