Trump tweet: "Because the “Ratings” of my News Conferences etc. are so high, “Bachelor finale, Monday Night Football type numbers” according to the @nytimes, the Lamestream Media is going CRAZY. “Trump is reaching too many people, we must stop him.” said one lunatic. See you at 5:00 P.M.! 1:06 PM - Mar 29, 2020"
Trump is jealous that NY governor Cuomo's favorability rating increased from about 50% to 71% during the coronavirus crisis. RCP shows Trump's favorability rating increased about 1% from 42% to 43%. Trump is claiming that Cuomo's rating increased by a large amount because of him.
Can't have too much of the "silent majority" that elected Trump out there voting can we? Trump says Republicans would ‘never’ be elected again if it was easier to vote Donald Trump admitted on Monday that making it easier to vote in America would hurt the Republican party. The president made the comments as he dismissed a Democratic-led push for reforms such as vote-by-mail, same-day registration and early voting as states seek to safely run elections amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Democrats had proposed the measures as part of the coronavirus stimulus. They ultimately were not included in the $2.2tn final package, which included only $400m to states to help them run elections. Coronavirus upends US election cycle as officials scramble to protect voters Read more “The things they had in there were crazy. They had things, levels of voting that if you’d ever agreed to it, you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again,” Trump said during an appearance on Fox & Friends. “They had things in there about election days and what you do and all sorts of clawbacks. They had things that were just totally crazy and had nothing to do with workers that lost their jobs we have to save.” Democrats often accuse Republicans of deliberately making it hard to vote in order to keep minorities, immigrants, young people and other groups from the polls. And Republicans often say they oppose voting reforms because of concerns of voter fraud – which is extremely rare – or concerns over having the federal government run elections. But Trump’s remarks reveal how at least some Republicans have long understood voting barriers to be a necessary part of their political self-preservation. “I don’t want everybody to vote,” Paul Weyrich, an influential conservative activist, said in 1980. “As a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down.” Trump’s Monday comments showed he saw voter suppression as part of his re-election strategy, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) said in a statement Monday. “Ensuring that Americans can vote during the Covid-19 crisis is fundamental to maintaining our democracy. It is shocking that Trump is essentially admitting that when the American people vote, Republican lose,” said Xochitl Hinojosa, a DNC spokeswoman. “Trump knows that suppressing the vote is the only way he and Republicans win in November.” Shortly after he was elected, Trump falsely claimed he would have won the popular vote had it not been for millions of illegal votes. There is no credible evidence to support the claim. In December, a Trump campaign aide was recorded saying: “Traditionally it’s always been Republicans suppressing votes in places.” The aide later told the Associated Press he was saying that Republicans have traditionally been accused of voter suppression. The $400m that Congress allocated so far is just a small fraction of what the Brennan Center for Justice estimated election officials need to run elections in November if coronavirus still lingers. Officials need that money to pay for postage, personnel and equipment to process an influx of mail-in ballots. The urgency of getting election officials those resources should not be lost in the political fighting, said Myrna Perez, director of the Brennan Center’s voting rights and elections program. “What cannot be lost in all the back and forth among politicians is that election administrators at the state and local level need substantial resources now to ensure that the elections in November go off smoothly and safely,” she said.
If ever there was an empty shelf to be inherited - it was Obama inheriting the sh*t show left by Bush/Cheney's "de-regulating everything" regime. That's how we got the financial crisis and the melt-down. You can't slash the budgets of agencies, get rid of people, and eliminate other agencies that oversee the financial system. Hundreds of billions and trillions of dollars to be siphoned off by Wall Streeter's, bankers, brokers, mortgage companies, etc. …… which is exactly what happened. No executives went to jail. NOT ONE. It became the wild, wild west - and that sh*t show is what Obama inherited. If it weren't for Obama's thoughtful, pragmatic approach (after much consultation with Harvard and MIT economists, Nobel laureates) and action to stop the free-fall, we would be in MUCH worse shape today. Trump inherited a rising economy and steadier markets - but he'll never acknowledge Obama, or what things he did to steady and right the ship. Obama is the first black man to become President and that riled a lot of racist - very racist - people in this country. This country still has a very racist mentality. Obama saved their financial asses , but they'll hate him until they die because he's black. I don't care if the President has polka-dot skin as long as he does what's in the best interest of ALL - repeat ALL - of the people in the U.S. …….. not just the 1%. We'll never see that from Trump. Just look at his new giant roll-back of the emission standards (that Obama enacted) to combat global climate change announced today. More pollution, more dirty air, and ramped-up greenhouse gases …….. courtesy of Trump. What an unhealthy future he's trying to leave our kids and grandkids. The arrogant child is a stain on this county's history.
Trump uses virus briefings to coddle a multimillionaire and groom him for a run for governor of Minnesota. Trump has been nudging MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell to run for office Monday's Rose Garden appearance is just the latest episode in an unusual political friendship. By DANIEL LIPPMAN and TINA NGUYEN 03/30/2020 06:01 PM EDT Updated: 03/30/2020 07:06 PM EDT Trump has been nudging MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell to run for office excerpt: "President Donald Trump introduced those tuning into his nightly coronavirus task force briefing on Monday to a special guest: Mike Lindell, the multimillionaire inventor and CEO of the MyPillow empire. "Boy, do you sell those pillows," Trump said, asking him to step up to the mic and tell Americans how his company was helping them deal with the outbreak. Lindell then launched into a short infomercial for his company, going on to describe how the firm was manufacturing cotton face masks and effusively praising the president for his pandemic stewardship."
Trump Administration, in Biggest Environmental Rollback, to Announce Auto Pollution Rules Coral Davenport March 30, 2020 Trump Administration, in Biggest Environmental Rollback, to Announce Auto Pollution Rules excerpt: "WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is expected on Tuesday to announce its final rule to roll back Obama-era automobile fuel efficiency standards, relaxing efforts to limit climate-warming tailpipe pollution and virtually undoing the government’s biggest effort to combat climate change."
I was going to buy a couple of those pillows, but didn't because people I know that have them say they aren't that great.
Corporate religion at Trump's virus briefing. MyPillow Lindell goes off on the old 'Trump allowed us to say Merry Christmas again' meme. ‘Our president gave us so much hope’: MyPillow CEO goes off script at coronavirus briefing Mike Lindell, a major Republican donor, invoked God in praising Trump and encouraged Americans to read the Bible while at home during the pandemic. By CAITLIN OPRYSKO 03/30/2020 07:27 PM EDT ‘Our president gave us so much hope’: MyPillow CEO goes off script at coronavirus briefing excerpts: "When the president beckoned the executives to the lectern to say a few words about their efforts, up first was Lindell — a major Republican donor, the Trump campaign’s chairman for Minnesota and someone who has called Trump the “greatest president” in American history and someone who was “chosen by God.” But his remarks went beyond the polite accolades and brief summary of steps his company is taking to assist other corporations in preparing to weather future pandemics." "“God gave us grace on November 8, 2016, to change the course we were on,” Lindell began, referencing the day Trump was elected president. “Taken out of our schools and lives, a nation had turned its back on God.” Lindell then offered advice to families stuck at home because of various social-distancing guidelines: “I encourage you to use this time at home to get back in the Word, read our Bibles and spend time with our families.” “Our president gave us so much hope. Where just a few short months ago, we had the best economy, the lowest unemployment, and wages going up, it was amazing,” he continued, as Trump stood behind him expressionless. “With our great president, vice president and this administration and all the great people in this country praying daily, we will get through this and get back to a place that’s stronger and safer than ever.”"" "
Aren't worth a fuck. I got a neck ache because my head was lifted too much during the night. If you sleep on your back-flat, you'll snore like a sleep apnea victim.
I think he got the idea to sell a $69 pillow to them folks who paid all that cash for pet rocks on a leash back in 1971?
The man who lives across the street from me is a doctor who works in a hospital here in northern Indiana. He told me this morning that his hospital is accepting overflow patients from Battle Creek Michigan and from Indianapolis. And this is due to the fast spreading of Coronavirus. He said that his hospital told its professionals that Coronavirus can live on surfaces up to three weeks. It was discovered in the one cruise ship three weeks after the vacationers were sent ashore. When the crews were sent in to clean the ship and its cabins, the virus was still alive and showed so under the microscope. The Trump Administration jerked us around for weeks, while claiming Coronavirus was the latest Democrat Hoax. That stupid preacher Falwell who runs Liberty University has been telling FOX news that after the Democrats failed in using the impeachment and the 25th Amendment ploys, now it's Coronavirus! Trump likes Falwell and has been on TV with him. Trump told the crowd that we had 15 people sick with Coronavirus and soon it will be down to zero. With that, Falwell opened up his cash on the barrel university and invited 95000 students. MY guess is that these 95000 will spread the contagious disease to hundreds of thousands and then to millions a month later. And we already have 161000 sick with 3000 dead because of this contagious disease.
how about that dumbass preacher, in Florida, who invited all of thosen people into his church, on sunday.
