Sierra ^^^^^ post1199 - That's beautiful Sierra!!! You drilled right into the center of it. Isn't it ironic that the Republican governor-led states refusing restrictions - despite the CDC, NIH, et al advising "stay-at-home" - are now becoming hotspots for corona virus because their "freedom" is now costing them lives. Wouldn't "freedom" also include the ability to use their heads and NOT follow what their Republican governors are telling them, which is to go out and do what you want, wherever & whenever you want?? This why I use the term LEMMINGS to describe those that blindly follow without seeing and thinking for themselves. How many of those - "I ain't never gonna listen to them there libral expert doctors who want to take away MY freedom!" - are dead already or will be??? (spelling and grammar intentionally wrong)
I pray that this stay-at-home nonsense ends soon. If we are destined to get some disease and cross the Rainbow Bridge, that destiny was predetermined well before this COVID-19 came about.
Why wash your hands after going nr. 2? If you are destined to get ebola it was predetermined long before anyway.
I think more responsible business owners can render the rebellion inert. 'Mask Required' You don't have one, you're not coming in. Simple. People don't get it...
I was wondering the same. Does anyone think these people truly have jobs? If they are 2nd Amendment looney-bin cases who might go postal on their supervisor who would give them a job? An Lots of humans will develop natural immunity. I say that because it is not as severe in some and fatal in others. I just hope for once the government will force the pharma corps to sell it for reasonable money instead of screwing the sick people. I'm interested in social justice.
Wow … you caught that one and I missed it. When I saw his reference to Rainbow Bridge I started dreaming about that place at the Utah/Arizona border. It's in the northern part of the Navajo nation. Both concepts are powerful.
I was in the deli line at Albertson's yesterday. Guy behind me doesn't have a mask. A couple of days before, I watched two guys get turned away from the same store because they were not wearing a mask the human body has inherent immunity to diseases, otherwise, we all would have been dead alongtime ago.
If you live in an area where there are malaria carrying mosquitoes, there's a good chance you'll end up with malaria. Is that predetermined?
Meh, I think you can all smell it now You all tried to screw the younger generations so quickly, and on top of that you want them for the most part to pay for it now The momentum is slower at this stage than I thought, but it's building First couple of months of this were lead by emotion, not common sense You all just created a generation even more resentful to geriatric hoarders of wealth, the disease created a generation desensitized to rationalising deaths of the elderly Tell me exactly how you think the quality of health care for you lot is going to improve as you move from your 60s, to your 70s, from your 70s to your 80s. Tell me exactly how you think empathy for aged care funding is going to improve over the next couple years? Boomers just made it all worse for themselves, and given the emotive tone in those posts directed at the protestors, you are all starting to get it
I feel like it will improve though; especially empathy for aged care. The push for younger kids, especially in college, is equality. They teach you about ageism alongside transphobia and gender equality. And while some of that depends on what you're studying (I studied sociology for a year or something) I think celebrities and social media are carrying their weight in that department. Well.. with the exception of older generations who voice dissent on the latter platform. Celebrities seem to be very much into all kinds of equality.
How many of those 22 Million recently unemployed are 55+? You can count in the 100s of thousands now those in that age range, 55+, that will die 5,10 years earlier than they otherwise would have because they lose/can't afford health insurance..coupled with a health system that's definately not going to be better funded in the years to come
I just read that social security may be impacted due to a decrease in the amount of payroll tax that can be collected i.e. no jobs = no payroll = no payroll tax. It's the primary funding source for that program. So I can see that you're right. It isn't getting better funded; especially not in this economy.
US is a special case, you guys would have enough reserves to ride out an extended lockdown, but one of the few countries that can What is also blowing my mind at the moment is just how many countries think their government have an endless supply of money where this is even possible If it was a single country, you would just borrow money off another, or issue bonds to to pay for stuff. But when it's pretty much every wealthy nation concurrently. Who are you going to borrow money off? A lot of private sector industries just lost most of their value You can print money, but then inflation starts to skyrocket There will be a lag between when the majority of the population realises this and the brunt of it really starts to happen, of up to 6 months. Prices start to hike, food shortages start to happen, some countries just run out of money to pay welfare. Then you will see real panic
Yep, I'll be exposing myself in public while wearing a red plastic pig mask. I plan to ride this shit out on a mental ward!
I'll be wrong if it only really lasts another month. But beyond that, no way Even now, there's so much shit you could steal now, and make a quick get away on a moped, surprised that's not already happening
