It's gonna be a fun weekend in the woods with the truck, I can tell you that much. I installed a recovery point only a few weeks back. I still haven't pulled the trigger on a winch line but if the weekend pans out, I'll be in the woods with a friend and if I get her stuck he can now pull me out hehe.

You better buy that shit..
I remember this victory like yesterday, JJs first win in California. I had mixed feelings about it, happy for the Hendrick stables, kinda pissed off Jeff Gordon brought in JJ. Without Jimmie Johnson Jeff Gordon would have won at least 3 more championships, even more had the playoffs not been included. Jeff was his own worst enemy for this one, but, undoubted, Jimmie Johnson will go probably down as one of the greatest drivers of all time. He won't reach the number of wins Jeff Gordon had, but I also don't see anybody winning another 7 championships in a row either. The positive side was, the #48 team was Jeff Gordon's car. Jeff gave Jimmie his whole garage and cars and then had to start again, so Jeffy lay the foundation for Jimmie Johnson, Johnson literally secured the top car in NASCAR and painted it #48. But it was Jeff Gordon's car, and Jeff Gordon to this day still owns that race team/garage in affiliation with Rick Hendrick. It's number 48, because that's double 24.
This is motorsport in general around the world, dudes my age just aren't into cars as much as previous generations, but also, the Southern Fans were drawn toward Southern drivers, like Earnhardt. There aren't many good ol' Southern boys racing anymore. The sport has grown and split the fan base. Older generations who still talk about the Davey Allison, Richard Petty and Earnhardt days, and then the newer fans who fell in love with non southern drivers like Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Brad Keselowski and the Mid West crew and those Yankees up north too. Not to mention international drivers too ao the complexity of the sport has changed and the fan base associated with those changes has been abandoned for a more traditional fan base that isn't so wound up on cultural values. It was not until I got to talk to older people at the race track to learn and understand why the racing is so important to them. I remember a big guy at Talladega, told me he'd been coming to every race since his daddy took him as a kid. It's tradition for them. He didn't care who won or who didn't win, that wasn't concerning, it was the atmosphere and the upholding of family tradition, which I find so prevelant in Southern Culture it's something I can easily understand, appreciate and admire. As far as southerners are concerned, Jeff Gordon ruined NASCAR. Jeff came out blitzing all records, but he wasn't a Southerner, he was from Indiana, open wheeler and Indy car country. That ain't NASCAR. I remember every single race Jeff Gordon won, up until his final 3 seasons he was met beers thrown at him and big BOOOOs from the crowd. Even when I was there in 2015 the people BOOOO him. And I think that drove him to be as successful as he was. When Gordon broke Earnhardt's win record, even Dale Jr said he would not congratulate him on the spot because he knew how much it meant to his fans. The front stretch was littered in beer cans thrown at the #24. I remember his spotter on the radio. "stay in your car after the burnout, it's raining beer cans out there". Southern hospitality.
