Waiting for DHL to pick up a package for Canada. Had I asked them to pick it up at 4pm they'd have showed up at 5am when I booked it, but now that book it in for 630-730am, not showing up. Hmmm. 30 more mins and it's someone else's problem tbh. There's just only a couple of us that have Known Consignee security clearances. This clearance gives me permission to send things all over the world without it going through customs as I'm lisenced to say it's fine. Big responsibility on my part. If my package blows up mid flight, they'll be coming to my door.

Yeah well quite a few can do that whilst sitting comfortably at a computer screen, bit different doing it for real.

Oh and by the way - the race track is apparently (male) noun, therefore its LeMans !!!

You haven't done it in real life Vlad, you took a luxury car for a test drive. That's all you did. I don't know how you can literally sit there and declare yourself any sort of expert simply on a slow test drive.

I told you yesterday, I've driven a real race car on a real race track with no limitations. That's the end of the conversation right there. Anybody can hire a car and drive around a street circuit, no anybody gets the opportunity to jump in a real car on a real track with the real intention of racing that car.

Set my sim up with a proper motion control centre and that sim will be more accurate than whatever you participated in and if you don't believe me, research it, because what I do is what all the race car drivers in the world are doing right now and they say all you're missing is the sense and familiarity of speed, everything else is on point.

Regardless, it's not real life and I have made no illusions to support the legitimacy of it being anything like real life. All I'm doing is competing for fun against the rest of the world. That's what I do. I mean you sit and read the news all day and think that's real so I don't really get the argument here.

It's cool you got to drive an awesome car around an awesome track, but don't fluff me around like you're a race car driver man.

    Case. Closed.

Firstly LeMans is not a street circuit like the Monaco Grand Prix is,

Secondly, the car was not hired but belonged to a friend of mine,

Thirdly, I have never professed to be a racing car driver, yes I have driven around the LeMans circuit in a huge and powerful car at a speed in excess of 100 mph (I wasn't actually looking at the speedometer over that, I was concentrating more on what I was doing and in which direction the car was going.

Fouthly, I only mentioned this after you yourself mentioned LeMans which jolted my own memory. As I previously said this was well over 40 odd years ago.

Umm firstly, LaMans is a street curcuit, as it utilises both city streets and permanent race track areas. So you're wrong there. You know what. I bet you haven't even driven the same track we are talking about. You're talking about the LeMans curcuit, I'm talking about the historic 24hr race track haha. :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

    There is no secondly.

No wait, secondly I teased you saying you probably drove a non European racing car that doesn't race at Lemons and you then you told me your story and tried to insult me with my sim racing life style, which is fine, if you can back that up which you didn't. You then went on to, without having the faintest clue about me, talk me down like I've never done anything in real life. But that wasn't true at all.

So the next time you want to put down my simulation career and lifestyle, I better see photos of you behind a wingless sprint with 950 ponies on under engine. :p

Oh Vlad, you and your stories.:sweatsmile:

I just did a quick research. LeMans is definitely a public road. I'm thinking if you didn't know that then you may not have been there?

Yeah I've already bought a few things I didn't really want to buy, having picked them up before realising I didn't want them.
I miss the days where I could change my mind.

That is indeed a nice socket set.
I like when tools are shiny and complete and either new, or well cared for.

How about tools that are poorly maintained and scattered haphazardly about a garage?

We have the lowest infection rate of any region in the province, so my wife says that the hospital is sort of alow because they kicked everyone out to make room for covid cases. Now they want to cut shifts from the rehab staff, but refuse to lay anyone off. So basically they're forcing multiple people to take a week off, unpaid (which isn't enough to qualify for unemployment insurance or the new relief programs), instead of just picking someone to lay off. I think that they don't want to tell the public that they're laying off staff during a pandemic, plus they want to be able to call them back quickly if needed.

Normally the union can protect against this, but part of the emergency declaration from the province was to allow healthcare employers to ignore collective agreements. It was meant to be used to redeploy staff without having to give notice and go through the usual seniority lists and stuff like that, but they will use it for whatever they can get away with.

I keep the plastic protective cover over them, that's not in the photo hehe.

I should take a photo of my metal work toolbox. I did metal work in HS for 3 years. Technically, I passed qualifications of a second year apprentice. :) it's a good tool box but metal work tools are like, not useful, unless you want to destroy things. :p

So although I have a few toolboxes, when I refer to "my toolbox" this is the one I mean. I'm 32yo, which means I've had this for half my life now since I was 16. The tools are not as shiny as my sockets, this is a working girls toolbox hehe.

    So box.
Box with lid up, got some things in there.
3 top shelves, engineering chalk and tools, vice grips, plyers and wire cutters.
1st shelf Hammer and bits and pieces l, engineering square, fuck that cost a lot of money. 30m tape measure.

2nd shelf some welding hammers and some brass (welding metal will not stick to brass so use this plate to fill holes in steel) another block engineering square. Chalk string line. Those red things are magnets to hold metal plates on square angles.

Bottom shelf some leather armor. :)

Yeah, so as you can see pretty much a lot of that is useless for around the house, even the hammers are overkill.

But, I can build you a airplane hangar haha. Or I can built and engineer shit to built it.

It's actually pretty cool to know I have a 2nd year apprenticeship qualification. I mean at this stage I'm not even a shit kicker anymore. I'm a fucken 3rd year. Only got 2 years to go and I'm a tradesman. :p

But that's not what I "majored" in, American terminology I think lol. I think I uses it correctly.

Bottom photo bottom right, little green thing? That's my payslip from where I did my work experience in a steel factory. I was free Labor for a week, but I did a good job and they paid me $330.00, more than a shit kicking 1st year. :p

Nawwhhh, I'm not a silly as I probably appear sometimes. I think the term for me is... An all rounder. Like I can do a lot. I know 95% guys can't weld, won't weld.. I can weld. Hell yeah that is fun and I want to take it up again soon, thinking of getting a lil electric arc welder for home. :)

I do alright for a chick.
