Those Union Stations are grand old buildings. I have been in several of them. The one in LA and the one in Indianapolis come to mind right now.
@Driftrue : Was trying for the spray painting kitty in the middle. As for the last one, that was Wallingford, CT (between Meriden and New Haven).
The one is Houston is no longer a train station... Union Station is a building in Houston, Texas, in the United States. Dedicated on March 2, 1911, and formerly a hub of rail transportation, the building now serves as a cornerstone for Minute Maid Park. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and has since been superseded by Houston's Amtrak station.
Subtract the water tower, then add the Traveler's insurance tower. You'd have One Financial Plaza in Hartford.
I thought you were.. I thought it was well-timed! And I see it's a kitty now.. with a radio.. At first glance I saw one of the Grateful Dead bears..
The twin saw the cat and thought it was cool. He was saying "Try and get a pic on the ride back!". Well, the shitty camera on my cell phone is the only one I have now, as my 20 MP Sony digital camera from 2014 is pretty much toast. For comparison, this was the whale tale fountain on June 25, 2016. It was the last time I was at the New London, CT train station before this week. I also had an actual camera then.
The CT/MA state line marker in the marsh from Amtrak. In other words, I'm in Massachusetts again. Held off on pictures today.
That's the Amtrak/freight bridge, looking west over the Connecticut River. The other four pics are from Windsor, CT. I was passing over the Farmington River.
oh my gosh his expression in that second one... so.. knowing.. i enjoyed your "story" with/about him too. you have a lovely voice.
