like telling a friend of a friend story is to be believed. Someone drives across the country to Help someone move out of an apartment in nyc from LV, Nevada? Would be cheaper to pay for the movers to come in and do the move, Rather than to drive cross country.

 

For centuries it was ship's captains who understood best how to deal with a sickness aboard ship. They split the ship fore and aft into clean and unclean sections and went to absolute quarantine. Granted, this only worked marginally well all the way into the 20th century, but doing nothing had guaranteed results and created ghost ships.

Consider the recent shipboard Covid cases. There's a reason it didn't sweep through the whole craft in every case.

The one thing it should not be is a political issue. Because in politics disputes aren't always concerned with accuracy, just winning the narrative. A formula for disaster. We were overdue for a global plague, and our only hope at the moment is to ride it out. Waiting for a vaccine is moronic when you consider how many died waiting for an HIV vaccine, that still has not happened.

What also has not changed is the commonality of most new HIV cases. We could have beaten HIV with quarantines. But it became a political issue instead.

She was worth the drive. I didn't have to worry about any viruses at the time.

Almost 1.2 million children could die as a result of the coronavirus lockdown, new modelling shows.

While evidence suggests children are less likely to be severely affected by the coronavirus, the indirect effects of the outbreak could be deadly, experts say.

But the virus did sweep many of the cruise liners, all because the air conditioning in each cabin was pumping it out !!!

Indeed, an excellent point. The Navy ships were better able to contain the problem. Can you imagine an aircraft carrier with a virus run amok? We also had nuclear infiltration training to ensure the ship's ventilation didn't ingest fallout. I can't imagine a cruise ship knowing or caring about such things.

Another way sickness was handled at sea was to simply toss the infected overboard. That happened probably more often than a shipboard quarantine in centuries past.
