Any careful reporting would note that "the protestors" are quite a large and heterogeneous bunch, in at least 30 cities, consisting of lots of whites as well as African-Americans. Obviously, it's not just the organization BLM. For the most part they've been peaceful up to a point, and then--usually late at night--vandals and looters take over. This is a familiar pattern in race-related protests in the U.S. at least since the Watts riots. The protest provides cover for looters and vandals, since the police have their hands full and may be reluctant to take action to inflame the situation. From the videos, these appear to be mostly teenagers from wherever. And there are groups on both ends of the political spectrum that have agendas to cause havoc, in hopes it will rebound to their advantage: anarchists and right wing extremists. The media showed videotape of one guy breaking up the pavement with a sledgehammer, until a group of the protestors overpowered him and turned him over to the police. In the end, it's always the folks in the neighborhood who are left holding the bag. No grocery stores, no pharmacies. Somebody needs to get that message across.
