Trump misleadingly refers to the state of the coronavirus as embers and ashes. CDC gives grim outlook on coronavirus ahead of 4th of July Gail Paschall-Brown WESH Updated: 11:05 PM EDT Jun 12, 2020 CDC gives grim outlook on coronavirus ahead of 4th of July excerpt: "The CDC says there will likely be between 124,000 and 140,000 total reported COVID-19 deaths by the Fourth of July. The news comes as we enter vacation season. The CDC has issued a travel advisory for Key West related to the coronavirus. Florida's number of confirmed coronavirus cases is now nearly 71,000 as it set another daily record on Friday, with more than 1,900 new cases were confirmed."
He said, "We'll have a total and complete ban on Muslims entering the country." That was another complete sentence back in 2016 at the Republican convention.
Hospitalizations in Florida which were trending downward have stopped declining which is key metric. This could really be bad, but we'll see.
Actually I didn't. Your reading comprehension must be impaired, just like the folks who thought Trump told them to use bleach when he just floated it out there as an interesting idea. You asked: What kind of MORON could even infer that from above only a special kind of idiot could remotely even draw the two together." (watch out, you're beginning to sound like the guy you're defending). I replied: "The kind that vote for Trump." That is not at all the same as saying all people who voted for Trump are morons, as I thought I made clear in some detail in post 2133 ("At worst, my comment referred to some Trump supporters") which you just quoted. Since you were defending Trump, I thought it would be appropriate to phrase my reply in the same kind of language Trump would use. See his phraseology on Covid-19 and bleach supra, or his remarks that the virus is the Democrats' hoax.. What kind of Moron could infer from my comment that I said all Trump voters are Morons? A Trump defender?
Maybe you can spin this one for us, aired on Fox just yesterday. Trump Goes After George Floyd Protesters and Lincoln’s ‘Questionable’ Legacy in Bizarre Fox News Interview Trump says Abraham Lincoln 'did good' for the Black community but that 'the end result' is 'questionable' Donald Trump Has Puzzling Exchange Over Abraham Lincoln’s Legacy – Deadline Trump: “I think I’ve done more for the black community than any other president. And let’s take a pass on Abraham Lincoln, because he did good, although it’s always questionable, you know, in other words, the end result.” African-American Interviewer: “Well, we are free, Mr. President. He did pretty well.” Trump: “Well, you understand what I mean? You know, I got to take a pass on a Honest Abe, as we call it.” Whadee say? Seems to me he's saying Lincoln's record was questionable, but his own is great." What are we to draw from that? I'm sure he meant to be preaching racial harmony, but it sounds kinda divisive to me--in fact, like a dog whistle to a certain element of his base. Like his "both sides" remark at Charlottesville.
This is interesting, coming from you. Most conservatives don't give a damn about the oceans(think big business). Most conservatives don't give a damn about the extinction of animals(think Donnie trump jr.) Ironic isn't it that both the words conservation, and conservatism start with the same seven letters, but their definitions are diametrically opposed.
Nope he quite possibly is over the edge on that, C-19 got him maybe...he was struggling at the last few C-19 Briefings I watched so . we have dementia number 1 and dementia number 2 for candidates AWESOME .. . how about someone under say 50?????
Thing is, Wrat, that many of us would recognize that the words you quoted ("what was actually said") were confusing and easily misinterpreted--like the fine print in a real estate contract. And to dwell on Trump's past economic accomplishments without mention of his present failures and his unprecedented record of spreading discord, is like gilding a turd. Kinda like mentioning that Mussolini drained the swamps and made the trains run on time.
I do agree with you on this. Because of apathy, no one under fifty has any political clout. I would limit the maximum age to run at 65.
I did not find it confusing in the slightest, VG appeared to understand , several people I know IRL followed along fine so Im pretty sure it was not all that confusing more like lets twist words into something else cause we dont like him its happening to me on these forums so pretty easy to see.. and no its its disparaging someone cause you dont like them comparing him to Hitler & Mussolini really?? Hitler killed like 12 million people 6 million of which were Jews, Mussolini 20 million and you want to compare that???? Bill Clinton was 46 when inaugurated Obama was 47 Bush Jr 54 it can and has happened so WTF rich demented old white men???? WHY
It's not just that I don't like Trump. It's that I think he's the most dangerous demagogue ever to occupy the White House, an admirer of dictators, who shows contempt for the rule of law, is assiduoulsy packing the courts with partisans, has tried to mobilize the military against American protestors, and one who uses similar tactics to those dictators you mention. We have armed bands of "patriots" showing up at state capitols to intimidate our elected officials. The appeals to ethno-nationalism and populism, scapegoating of out groups, and the cult of personality surrounding him are like nothing we've seen before in a president. One more term and dictatorship here we come.
Short answer: because they won the primaries. As I recall, Biden was competing against 27 other candidates, some much, much younger than he. His principal rival, though, Bernie, was even older! And in 2016, 16 younger Republicans ran against Trump. Apparently, the voters are looking for grandfather figures (or grandmother. Hillary was in her late 60s, and Elisabeth is 70).
Most of the U.S. presidents have been exceedingly rich when they held office. Washington was worth $587 million in 2016 dollars, Jefferson $236, T.R. $139, etc. Only 9 of 44 were worth under a million. Age is relative in regards to the expected life span of each president during their tenure. Life expectancy from the 1770s until the mid 1800s was about 35.5 years. In the 1930s it was about 45 years, in 1950 60 years, and now it's close to 80. Washington was 57 when elected, all of the first seven presidents were 57 or over and two were 61 at a time when life expectancy was 35.5 years. Only nine were in their forties, two were 49, and only two under 45. T.R. was the youngest at 42 at a time when life expectancy was about 45. The only president that I know of who may have been demented while in office was Reagan.* Many have speculated on this included his own son Ron. Only one of the 44 men who have or are president have been non white. No women has ever held the office. * Excluding the present holder of that office.
He hasn't built the wall Hasn't provided a new health care program(one of the top priorities of the 'murican public) He hasn't drained the swamp Hasn't come to a nuclear accord with NK What the opinion piece(and that's what is was) left out: His decimation of the environment His debasement of human life(people who are not citizens) His childish behavior His mental illness His trade policies which hurt only 'murican farmers, but consumers as well Etc Etc Etc Etc
