    I have begun to learn the Cyrillic (Russian) alphabet. How exciting! :) Lol :D

    It's a little bit of remembering, but really lots of things remind me of English in some ways; particularly the way words are spelled. They use a different symbol to create the same sound, but some words are spelled the same.

    But not the word "love". That word is pronounced "lyooblyoo" so I love you is "ya lyooblyoo vas" (YA lyublyu vas in Google translate...).

    She will video call me later, and I will likely speak only Russian. I should probably learn a few more phrases for this. :D
    Soon enough my course in Russian will begin. I wonder how much it will help though.

    Learning the alphabet is probably easier than remember different words. Because I'm sure there will be plenty that don't exactly mirror English. I know earlier I got a little mixed up by the word for hockey, despite it being reasonably similar to English! :)

    хоккей - In the book I'm studying from (Get Started in Russian) "X" is purportedly pronounced like "ch" in loch (Scot), so I thought "It's pronounced Ch-ockey?". :)
