Italy sewage study suggests COVID-19 was there in December 2019

"Scientists in Italy have found traces of the new coronavirus in wastewater collected from Milan and Turin in December 2019 – suggesting COVID-19 was already circulating in northern Italy before China reported the first cases.

The Italian National Institute of Health looked at 40 sewage samples collected from wastewater treatment plants in northern Italy between October 2019 and February 2020.

An analysis released on Thursday said samples taken in Milan and Turin on December 18 showed the presence of the SARS-Cov-2 virus."

Netanyahu Warns of Possible Second Coronavirus Lockdown

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that Israel may have to renew lockdowns following a surge in coronavirus cases.

“‘We must flatten the curve now,” Netanyahu said at the beginning of Sunday’s weekly cabinet meeting.
Netanyahu said he will hold a meeting of ministers on Monday to decide what steps should be taken. Over 20,000 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Israel, including more than 300 fatalities.

The number of cases has steadily risen, from less than 17,000 a month ago, after restrictions were significantly eased and many people ignored instructions to wear masks and maintain social distancing.

Germany riot: Gangs smash shops and attack police in Stuttgart

"Groups of people have smashed shop windows, looted, and attacked police vehicles in central Stuttgart during hours of night-time disturbances.

German police say more than a dozen police officers were hurt during the violence, in south-west Germany.

Video clips on Twitter show people vandalising shops in the city centre and hurling big stones and other objects at police vehicles"

US coronavirus: nearly half of states are reporting a rise in new coronavirus cases

Nearly half of states are reporting a rise in new cases and some continue to break records in their daily reported cases. In the South, officials say more young people are testing positive. And across the US, experts continue to repeat warnings highlighting the need for social distancing and face covers.

More testing does in fact turn out more cases. However, ... if widespread testing was the entire reason for the rise in cases, you'd expect to see the proportion of positive tests go down or at the very least remain steady. We're not seeing that," says Dr. Shoshana Ungerleider, a specialist in internal medicine at the California Pacific Medical Center.

"This has nothing to do with more testing and everything to do with behavior," she said. "We need to talk to people about following the guidelines, wearing masks, avoiding crowds, staying home if possible and washing their hands."

With almost 15.000 new cases of the Coronavirus in Florida over the last 4 days,

I wonder how the landscape will look in August for the RNC?
