    Political cartoon.

Trump is still on a campaign of culture wars, and he's intensifying it.

"Rapper and songwriter Kanye West has declared he is running for President of the United States.

The self-proclaimed “greatest artist of all time” posted a tweet this morning declaring his intention to run for the top job."

Kanye West announces shock presidential bid

He completed the tweet with an American flag emoji, and the hashtag #2020VISION.

The coronavirus spike continues in the southern states. Trump was wrong about his claim that UV and warmth would kill it.

He has stated that he will suppress the spikes but hasn't said how.

Trump still hasn't stated the time when the coronavirus, in his words, 'ultimately' will go away. The death rate in the U.S. has been relatively constant, cases have risen 40 states, and daily cases have exceeded 50,000 in the U.S. It's not an embers and ashes condition claimed by Trump.

Coronavirus updates: Surgeon General cautions that 'deaths lag at least two weeks' as cases rise in 40 states; 31 MLB players test positive

COVID cases update: 31 MLB players positive; face masks; Florida

    excerpt:

"The U.S. Surgeon General on Friday encouraged Americans to social distance and wear face masks over the Fourth of July weekend to slow the spread of COVID-19.

The U.S. on Thursday saw another day of record cases that surpassed 50,000. Dr. Jerome Adams said while the death rate has remained flat amid the surge in infections, "deaths lag at least two weeks and can lag even more."

"In the beginning, nursing homes were hit really hard, and the majority of our deaths were occurring on people who were 60, 65 and older," he said Friday on "Fox & Friends". "Now the majority of cases are in people who have an average age of 35, and so those folks are going to have less comorbidities, they're going to be less likely to end up in the hospital and to die."

He urged young people to protect their grandparents by social distancing and wearing face masks."

Republican politicians should seriously consider social distancing themselves from Trump. The prospect of them losing control of the U.S. Senate in the 2020 election was slim before the coronavirus. Polls are now showing that the chances of it are significant.

    Donald Trump's shrinking electoral map
Gone are the days of forecasting a landslide victory. The president’s team is looking not for where Trump can win more, but how he can lose less.

    Donald Trump's shrinking electoral map

    excerpt:

"Donald Trump’s campaign once spoke of expanding his electoral map into blue-leaning territory like Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico and New Hampshire.

Now, winning at least a handful of those states has become a matter of survival.

States that top campaign officials had said they had the luxury of pursuing are no longer considered add-ons to the president’s electoral vote tally but backstops to keep him afloat, according to multiple people close to or involved with his reelection operation.

The most telling sign of Trump’s defensive posture is his recent mammoth TV ad buys. The campaign is spending big to retain states he won in 2016 and to shore up support in places a Republican should already dominate in, like Georgia or Florida’s Panhandle."

I just read that protestors in Baltimore or somewhere back east took down a statue of Columbus and dumped it in the harbor, on 4th of July when Trump was crying about defamation of his heroes. After that I went and looked up Columbus. It seems he was a pedophile. In a letter he wrote back to Spain, he boasted about having acquired several native girls, some as young as nine years old. I don't see why America needs to glorify Slavers like Robert E Lee and Nathan Bedford Forrest? They were slavers. Columbus was also a slaver. He did not take or own slaves in America. He took and owned slaves from the Island of Hispaniola which today happens to be the Dominican Republic. Columbus didn't even discover the land which is the USA today. He deserves no credit for discovering America. White supremacists are stupid for thinking he discovered America. I think Trump, with his talk of slaver heroes, is just trying to drum up votes from the racist evangelical Christians in the southern states. His voter base has always liked the idea of placing statues of slavers in front of the courthouse just to let Black people know ahead of time about the outcome of their trial. Trump has also dispatched William Barr to protect these statues including the one of pedophile Christopher Columbus. He has also dispatched Barr to protect other pedophiles who have been connected to the case of Jeffery Epstein, who was also a pedophile himself, and a very good friend of Trump. Trump has praised Epstein and said he was a great guy and "liked his women on the young side." One well known federal prosecutor from Florida who had cut a deal to protect Epstein was appointed to a cushy Washington job by Trump, right before Barr was ordered to start replacing federal prosecutors in New York who were looking into the Epstein case, including rich which millionaires who were Epstein pedophilia customers and good close friends of Trump. Joe Biden is going to have to appoint a tough and honest Attorney General to look into Trump and Barr and them other pedophile protectors.

An article about an assessment of Trump's response to the coronavirus by Larry Kudlow in late February 2020.

When the Great Recession was already occurring, Kudlow claimed that the lower gas prices would cause Americans to spend more which would avoid a recession..

Kudlow is known for making such delusional remarks throughout the decades.

Trump assigned Kudlow to his coronavirus task force.

Kudlow: Coronavirus response will boost Trump’s 2020 campaign
National Economic Council director also downplayed Wall Street reaction

Kudlow: Coronavirus response will boost Trump’s 2020 campaign

    excerpt:

"National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow, who was appointed to President Donald Trump's coronavirus task force on Thursday, said Friday he believed the administration's handling of the response to COVID-19 would be a boon for his 2020 campaign.

“I think the way he’s handling this will have a very positive effect on his reelection campaign,” Kudlow told reporters at the White House. “I’m a longtime Trump friend and watcher and now, of course, the last couple of years I’ve been working with him — for him. I think it was one of his best news conferences I’ve ever seen him give."

Kudlow was referring to the president’s rare appearance in the White House briefing room Wednesday evening, in which he announced that Vice President Mike Pence would be leading the effort. Kudlow in the press availability also suggested Friday that Wall Street was overreacting to the risks associated with the virus."

The working class thought that the policies of Reagan were bad in the 1980's.

Trump is an intensified version of Reagan's corporate tax cuts, deregulation, and increased military spending at the expense of increasing the national debt about 3 trillion dollars in just one term, not including another 3 trillion to try to control damage from the coronavirus that he exacerbated.

In contrast to Reagan, Trump adds a slap-happy obsession of sabotaging multilateral agreements and instigating culture wars to divide the country for his own amusement..

Comedian Argus Hamilton remarks about Reagan.
