this is the 68000 dollar question - it's ok for boris to say well take 3 million but can they ever get out? - I doubt it - people fleeing HK would be a slap in the face for china - a humiliation and not acceptable

not as simply as viewed the young people are not happy and a few oldies but perhaps the majority of 7 million accept it but can you imagine HK losing 50% of it's popn and the effect it would have overall? I doubt whether china will tolerate it

all we get here is trump and the virus, and the two sort of run on into each other.

i know there's more else going on both world and locally, but i guess the networks don't figure anything else will sell enough advertising space for them.

we do occasionally hear about things elsewhere, but usually only if they're some kind of conflict. almost the only place that ever talks about anything else is on amy goodman.

the weather channel is fun, but even that gets repititious, and as for entertainment, humans with cars and guns? gimmi a break.
(robo-critters with camera eyes observing species behaviors in the wild is fun)

fortunately i've got enough of my own animations (even if they don't tell stories, but why would i need them to) i can just watch them,
and the tens of thousands of images i like right clicked from around the net which are my screen saver.

waay less depressing then what humans seem to think they want to be entertained by.
one thing i do wish was open is book stores and libraries. fuck bars. but dine in resteraunts, with tables far enough appart for distancing would be ok.

if everyone wore a mouth and nose covering mask, we'd all be good. if no one did we'd all be fucked. there seems to be a mix of both.
and many of those not wearing one probably can't afford it, and there's really no excuse for governments and business failing to hand them out for free to make sure everyone can have one.

well that's the price of making everything having to be about money and we're, in the u.s., paying it.

moving of millions of HK chinese to uk and oz would be a serious blow to china and they will attempt to prevent it with all means possible - more countries should offer this deal like canada and europe etc! - this would be the biggest 'piss them off' action possible
