it sort of tells a different story than like every major news agency though. Conspiracy?

Does that one get you angry?

    It's a biggy isn't it

Does prove it was all over dramatized in the beginning

    Back in March/April

    - you didn't have enough testing
    - the most paranoid / high risk were the ones rushing to get tested
    - doctors weren't treating the disease properly, many were put on ventilators when they shouldn't have been and died uneccesarily
    - There were a far higher proportion of people that were already in hospital, contracted Covid there and died as a result
    - still no officials seem to be even able to mention the warmer weather has something to do with it
    - secondary effects, what's actually doing half the killing, blot clotting and bone marrow leaking is still a mystery

Give it another couple months, graphs like that will look even worse, more damming

That's not what the graph means and you taking that data from it is counter to doctors. The virus is getting worse each day and drops are due to distancing not a surge or paranoid people. Even though the US did not have enough testing there was still a surge of people in the first few weeks. People who were living in not distanced maskless society. Consider all that in any graph.

Also notice that when states open it goes up again. That's the important part to me assuming the data is correct and not faked.

So are you saying you know more than a doctor? That they are lying and there is no virus or its' the flu. So, first establish that. Why do you know more than a doctor?

At the beginning of this, only emergency personnel and those that were extremely sick could get a test... Now testing, in some places (but not all), is easier to get so more healthy people are being tested. Your little "Line graph" means nothing... Thanks for playing.

Speaking of testing, or lack there of... Still no testing facilities in my county and no local ones in adjacent counties will test you unless you are dying from it. "Gotta keep them numbers down, Trump said so..."

37-year-old Port Clinton war vet dies from COVID-19 complications on Fourth of July

PORT CLINTON, Ohio (WOIO) - Richard Rose was only 37 years old when he died at his home from complications due to COVID-19. He was born and raised in Port Clinton.

Those who knew Rose described him as kind, funny, and caring.

His family said he was very active in helping homeless vets and in preventing veteran suicide.

The Port Clinton man served in the U.S. Army for nine years and did two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He died at his home from complications related to COVID-19 on the Fourth of July.

“We were blown away, you know? You hear about this virus and you don’t expect it to affect people, younger people like ourselves,” said Nick Conley, who was Rose’s friend.

Conley met Rose through a shared love of video games. He is crushed that he lost his friend to this virus, but he’s also hurt by something Rose posted on Facebook back in April.

That post has now been shared more than 10,000 times. It reads, “Let’s make this clear. I’m not buying a mask. I’ve made it this far by not buying into that damn hype.”

“Rick is getting slaughtered online right now for his decision that he made not to wear a mask and that’s not right,” Conley said. “We should still be compassionate whether we agree with someone’s beliefs or not. Someone has passed away and we should have some compassion towards that.”

Rose’s family said he tested positive for COVID-19 on July 1 and died just three days later. Rose’s family said he had no known pre-existing health conditions.

“It’s horrible that we lost Rick but the even more tragic part of that is who else became infected because of the actions that he chose,” Conley said.

Conley hopes his friend’s death will serve as a warning to others.

“I know a lot of people that haven’t met someone that they know of that has been diagnosed with the virus and I wanted people to see it was real and my hope is that people will see that this does happen and people will be more cautious,” he said.

First and foremost, the doctors weren't the ones saying all the previous crap, it was the media and government medical officials. You were listening to the wrong experts in the first place. And the only ER doctors prepared to stick their necks out were ones that owned there own medical centre

Secondly, doctors aren't mathematicians, why would I not know more than them?

As an ER doctor their main job is to assess symptoms, remember all the diseases that point to that, remember all the medication you can prescribe, what the side effects are etc etc, a shitload of information, very specialised. Go through this whole thread, you will never catch me claim I could out diagnose any of them. I didn't even know Broken Heart Syndrome was actually a real thing until the other day.

But if I ask every ER doctor in the world to calculate the current infection rate based on the simple SEIR model, 99% of them would look at me and ask, "what does SEIR stand for again?"

Even with most of these epidemiologists it's usually some maths or compsci grad student doing all their pretty graphs for them

Not one said there is no virus, that comes out of your head for some reason

Well, US is up to almost 40 million tests done, which is quite extraordinary

So either you live in the most backward little county in all of the US or you are just bullshitting about the availability of testing

Considering many of your fellow Americans have contradicted you here on the availability of testing, I will assume it's the later

That's the important part here. So listen to them and stop looking so hard for some conspiracy. Australia is not doing good now. Looking in your backyard should show you what a big deal this still is. Through the thread you continually try to down play the importance of the virus. The medical community is not coming out and saying people should "go back to normal" because it's a conspiracy like you are.

You have to ask yourself whats driving the current little mini spike in the southern states

More young people are volunteering for testing, why?

Come back from a party on the beach with their friends, oh I better check if I have Covid before I go see grandma. But of course don't not go to the beach party in the first place

You have one Democrat Governor in Nevada that's closed down bars again, but many of the states in the south, south east; South Carolina, Florida are like, meh, fuck it deaths aren't really going up, let's wait and see

Yeah, but we are in winter. We had our CMO for months saying "oh there's not enough evidence it will be worse in winter" which given the current level of panic in my country, I don't think most people here actually ever bought it wasn't going to be worse in winter

Relatively speaking, still not a huge number of cases, but going from a dozen a week to a thousand so far a cause for concern. And seemingly no other reason for it apart from the colder weather. It's not unexpected at all by the sensible people in the population. Still a big mystery in the media for some reason

So back to your country, you can delude yourself into thinking you think like the majority, in part thanks to HF, but id really question just how many Americans were ever going to truly believe a virus similar to the flu isn't going to be worse in winter

How many Americans even bother now sitting through one of Faucis interviews on CNN where he is saying the same basic shit he did 2 months ago...0.5%?

    Backwards as fuck.

And, No... There are no testing facilities in this county.

If you are dying, the ER.

If you are dead, they probably won't test.

If you want a test just because... Can't get one.

There are other factors but temperature that go into cold and flu season. So you agree then? American winter is coming and the virus will get worse. Since cases are rising it's wise to quarantine now while you still have summer heat. But if heat was going to stop anything Australia would not be dealing with the virus. It's winter for there and it was not a few months ago. It's just another right wing bullshit distraction tactic.

You just saying that doesn't mean anything. The graph is right there in front of your face. You have just typed a statement. Without even explaining why you think the data is rubbish. That is no argument

You expect me to believe if Trump hadn't said anything about it disappearing in the warmer weather you would be carrying on like this right now?

Or alternatively, if instead of Trump, Biden had said something like it will be less serious in the Summer, we can use that time to regroup, prepare for next winter.....you wouldn't be all like, yes Biden is right, it was obvious it was going to calm down in summer

You think I believe any of you twits arent going to start stressing out again in December?

"Since cases are rising it's wise to quarantine now while you still have summer heat." - no, that would be pretty stupid to lockdown for another 5 months until December, and well not even possible anyway. You would have an impossible time trying to convince the Governor of Florida, and he would have an impossible time trying to convince half the residents

    Delusional

Apparently Black Lives Matter rallies defy the laws of biology

REALLY? New BS Study Claims Black Lives Matter Riots Slowed Overall Spread of Coronavirus

Any news media outlet that has supported this study has zero credibility left. This includes CNN, NBC, and Buzzfeed.

We are ordered to socially distance from each other. Close down all schools and establishments. Bar families from attending funerals. Stop all weddings. All to stop the spread of covid.
Yet they expect us to believe at a Black Lives Matter protest, the virus will not spread at all? Yeah OK... The logic of this study is basically saying the virus will understand that BLM is a worthwhile cause, and will not spread to anyone protesting.

When you're rioting and standing in solidarity, with a bunch of people standing close, yelling, shouting, sweating in the summer heat together. This becomes a germ and virus hot spot. Period. BLM rallies are the antithesis of social distancing.

    1 of 2 possibilities here:

1: The virus isn't as deadly as the media is making it out to be. The death count is an exaggerated lie. The elderly die more frequently from just about anything regardless. The lock down was a scam to destabilize the economy for political motives.
2: The virus really is a viscous killer, and the media is too afraid to piss off Black Lives Matter, and is willing to lie to get people out there to riot and protest. Even at the expense of public health.

    I think there's true elements of both 1 & 2

The op ed piece you linked is dated 30th of april and was already incorrect when it was published

Swedish GDP grew by 0.1% first quarter and only fell by 0.3% 2nd quarter = -0.2% from Q1 and Q2

    Sweden GDP Growth Rate | 1981-2020 Data | 2021-2022 Forecast | Calendar | Historical

In contrast, UK GDP is down -4.2% from Q1 and Q2

I had a hard time finding an up-to-date English language article. The most recent one that I saw, from Tuesday, is in Swedish:

    Dyster coronaprognos för ekonomin

basically confirming that despite staying open, Sweden is still facing a drop of -5,3% to their economy. They literally gained nothing.
