It remains to be seen if Fauci and Birx will be present at the revived Trump coronavirus briefings (campaign rallies).

Toward the end of the briefings in April, Fauci and Birx were present at a briefing but didn't say anything. It was all Trump. The coronavirus briefings were later moved out of the White House altogether with Trump not present.

Trump throws a wrench in the gearbox of the negotiations for the next coronavirus relief package by insisting on a payroll tax cut and a cut in testing for the coronavirus.

Trump engaged in the same behavior when it looked like he might obtain $25 billion in U.S. taxpayer money for his border wall, which he shouldn't have been asking because he said Mexico would finance it.

He later demanded draconian measures that would limit overall immigration. The talks fell apart and Trump blamed Congress.

In the context of governance, Trump doesn't know how to make deals.

Trump now says wearing a mask is patriotic after mocking Biden for wearing one.

Similarly, Trump's people claim that coronavirus models that predicted a million deaths were alarmist and inaccurate. Yet Trump uses such models to claim he saved a million lives.

I try to avoid the Central Valley as much as possible; and you know that Fresno is the armpit of the state.

Seven months for Trump to finally start doing what Biden has been doing isn't all that long for Trump and the rest of Trump world. It shows that Trump doesn't really think that the 'fake' polls are actually fake.

In the name of being patriotic, some of the Trump following would reject a face covering even if it would save them and their family members from certain death and even if Trump now says it's patriotic to wear one. Defiance against a perceived infringement of the most trivial type means that much to them.

Then there are the type who are so defiant that they engage in MTV jackass behavior, such as throwing large parties to see who will be the one who survives the longest without catching the coronavirus.

 

Trump is on a U.S. census issue again. He lost his last battle to try to have a citizenship question added to the 2020 census.

Trump just said he would veto raises for the Troops, because the Pentagon has banned the Confederate flag and and other Confederate symbols from military facilities. What does that say about Trump?

"If my Republican colleagues want to strip this legislation out of the NDAA behind closed doors, then I'm going to offer it up as an amendment to force an up-or-down vote and put every member of this body on the record," Warner said on the Senate floor.

The amendment approved by the Intelligence Committee was an adopted version of Warner's FIRE Act, which he introduced last year. It would require all presidential campaign officials report to the FBI any contacts with foreign nationals trying either to make campaign donations or coordinate with a campaign.

Warner tried to bring up his bill on the Senate floor several times over the past year, but Republicans objected each time. When Sen. Marsha Blackburn, a Tennessee Republican, blocked the bill in June 2019, calling it a "blatant political stunt." President Donald Trump applauded her efforts on Twitter.

It's not clear if Warner's amendment will get a vote. The Senate is debating the defense authorization legislation on the floor this week."

trump sure knows how to shoot himself in the foot.
You know, there is an interesting situation here. Trump sends out federal police to "restore order" in the cities, because the military refuses to get involved. Yeah, I know it's illegal to have the military enforce domestic laws, but I don't think that would stop trump.
Does this mean that if there was a civil war, that the military would side with the public?

 

They would probably ship out to the Middle East... Where it's safer.
