What part are you having trouble understanding?

There is and was a distinct lack of news stories in your country, with both print and tv media, from both left and right wing sources regarding the Covid situation in Mexico

I have also been waiting months for one single member here to even mention Mexico; the number of cases, number of deaths, hotspots etc....nada. see if you can find a single post

Kind of gives away how much you all give a shit about your southern neighbours

"The number of deaths from coronavirus in Iran is nearly triple what Iran's government claims, a BBC Persian service investigation has found.

The government's own records appear to show almost 42,000 people died with Covid-19 symptoms up to 20 July, versus 14,405 reported by its health ministry.

The number of people known to be infected is also almost double official figures: 451,024 as opposed to 278,827.

Iran has been one of the worst-hit countries outside China.

In recent weeks, it has suffered a second steep rise in the number of cases."

Are you suggesting there's a conspiracy of silence?

There’s really not much to say but they have been slowly moving their way up the list of those for whom the bell tolls

VG since you believe no one has talked enough about Mexico, the same can be said about Jared Kushner’s COVID-19 Task Force.

Some members of Jared Kushner's coronavirus task force believed the pandemic would affect Democratic areas worse and may have adjusted accordingly,

.In March and early April, Kushner gathered a team to devise a nationwide coronavirus testing plan.

A public-health expert in regular contact with the team told the magazine that "the political folks" thought a nationwide response was a bad political move.
    .
At the time, outbreaks were worst in Democratic-voting states and cities. The source suggested that some close to Kushner thought it was best to hold back and blame governors
    .
Kushner's plan was indeed dropped in favor of a mainly state-by-state response. Since then, cases have surged in states on both sides of the political divide.

Kushner's coronavirus team shied away from a national strategy, believing that the virus was hitting Democratic states hardest and that they could blame governors, report says

So... Let me get this straight.

We were supposed to be posting several times an hour about Mexico, when, according to you, we weren't getting any news about Mexico. And furthermore, the reason it wasn't in the news is somehow our fault because we don't give a shit...

    Did I get that correct?

    Wait!

You said it was all gonna go away with the heat... But Mexico is a warm country for the most part. Or is that our fault also? Damned climate change hoax fucked everything up again?

    _____________________________________________________________________________________

Yeah... Imm'a go back to my previous, WTF are you even talking about?

So I say not once in 4 months, and you say, oh you said we should be posting several times an hour

    ??

And I never said it would go away in the heat, Trump said that, I said it would be worse in winter in the world's temperate zones, like the way the flu behaves; spread out evenly throughout the year in the tropics, in the world's temperate zones, deadlier in winter. It's why you get your flu shot before winter where you are

India, just as hot as Mexico all year round, but not as many deaths per day as they have a lower life expectancy and there aren't as many fat people

Get to a full 12 month cycle and both countries graphs will look the same, spread evenly throughout the year.

Where as NY, UK, Ohio, a full 12 month graph will look like a roller coaster

Yes, 150 deaths a day in Florida in July that has a similar size population to the State of New York isn't as serious as the 2000 deaths a day New York had in April

So let's go over all the factors again:

Population density: the probability you are even going to get infected in a certain time frame

Life expectancy: no, there won't be as many deaths in a country where most of their 70+ yr olds are dead already

Lattitude /weather: at the very least people huddle together indoors a lot more where and when it is colder

Quality of the local healthcare: including whether or not the dumbasses keep you in a ward that's constantly being replenished by newly infectious at their most infectious

Intergenerational living: average number of grandkids there are to come home from school and infect then kill grandma

How much money your government has left: so they can pay for teams of cleaners to sanitize contact surfaces at train stations, hospital etc. Because they know full well that shit is far more important than face masks

"Tens of million of people in the Philippine capital Manila are back in lockdown, after doctors warned a surge in new coronavirus cases could push the healthcare system to collapse.

Stay-at-home orders are now in effect in Manila and four surrounding provinces on the island of Luzon.

The Philippines only just emerged from a long lockdown in June.

But hospitals have been struggling to cope with a five-fold rise in confirmed infections, now surging past 100,000."

    A safe, each way bet:

"The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) has said that while there is hope for a vaccine against Covid-19, one might never be found.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a news briefing there was "no silver bullet at the moment - and there might never be".

Mr Tedros implored people around the world to comply with measures such as social distancing, hand-washing and mask-wearing, saying: "Do it all."

Globally, more than 18 million Covid-19 infections have been recorded.

The death toll stands at 689,000, with both figures given by the US-based Johns Hopkins University."

"(Reuters) - Argentina will extend a mandatory lockdown until Aug. 16 as its coronavirus cases continue to rise, President Alberto Fernandez announced on Friday.

The lockdown, which has been the strictest in the capital Buenos Aires, was due to expire on Sunday.

The South American nation has seen its caseload spike in recent weeks and recorded a record daily tally on Thursday with 6,377 new cases. There are now 185,373 confirmed cases and 3,466 deaths, according to the latest government data."

WHO says mortality rate is now 0.6%

They don't really tell you but that's based on one Swiss study

Which puts the mortality rate for those

    under 50 years at 0.0016%
(Which is 16 for every million people under 50, 1 in 62,500, which is about the rate for undetected cancers and rare blood disorders)

    5-64 yrs 0.14%
    65+ yrs 5.6%

So, it took a month, but this is the first story on t cell immunity to Covid on a major news site I've seen

Do some people have protection against the coronavirus?

"A recently published summary article in the journal Nature Reviews Immunology put forth a tantalizing possibility: A large percentage of the population appears to have immune cells that are able to recognize parts of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and that may possibly be giving them a head start in fighting off an infection. In other words, some people may have some unknown degree of protection

What we found is that people that had never been exposed to SARS Cov2 ... about half of the people had some T-cell reactivity," co-author of the paper Alessandro Sette from the Center for Infectious Disease and Vaccine Research at La Jolla Institute for Immunology, told CNN."

Do some people have protection against the coronavirus? - CNN

They are talking about a study published 7th July that said 50% of the population had T cells that fight off Sars-CoV-2

Oh, here we go, now they are starting to say it:

France warns of second wave in autumn or winter

France’s scientific committee has warned that a second wave of the virus in autumn or winter is “highly likely”.

It comes as cases in the country have risen over the past few weeks. About 3,376 cases were confirmed over the past three days and the number of people being treated in ICUs has started to increase, Reuters news agency reports.

so, you seem to be disagreeing with any "amplification" for lack of a better word of this virus. why? People do die. It's not just the aging or ailing. People with no explanation are dead; though in vastly smaller numbers, they're dead. I think an abundance of caution is imperative. You seem to disagree with that. I'd like to understand your thinking on it. How do you imagine ordinary folk would behave about the virus if there weren't official sources stating the facts in the worst possible terms, or governments mandating facial coverings and implementing quarantines & lockdowns? It would be worse... :worried:
