Which is madness – they should have stop all the Brexit shit and asked for an extention of the transition until we got a handle on the covid situation.

The cost of Brexit is going to be bad –how bad depends on how badly it is handled and so far the Boris/Cummings government’s handling of it has been pretty bad. So the impact could be heavy with an economic hit that is equal to that of the covid hit to the UK.

The Brexit impact on the EU will not be as severe as that on the UK, again how bad it will be depends on its handling and the countries that could be hit worst have done reasonable job of trying to mitigate the effects.

Even before the hammer blow of Covid in the UK the vote to leave had cost the country’s economy so we are going to end up getting hit twice once by nature and the other by design. While most countries only have one economic woe to deal with the English have chosen to impose two on the UK.

But what really gets me in this thread is that someone suggests murdering people in cold blood and people ‘like’ the post because the people who would be killed would be migrants

That murder is Ok if it is of refugees

Is that what the country that I love is becoming?

If you have something to contribute do so - but why post an off topic comment and admit you don't have any knowledge of the subject?

I wouldn’t say the UK was a systemically racist country; we do have a problem with racism but that's the same of many countrys - why do you think that UK is a systemically racist country?

I think the vast majority of refugees are seeking a better life they are usually fleeing persecution and war. Many other migrants are seeking a better life or hoping to find one - think of the millions that migrated to the US.

    So what’s your point?

I don’t think the UK is a racist country at all. Look closely; I put that sentence in quotations to show it’s the statement of someone else. Not my own.

I’ve read enough op-eds, comment sections, and other voices from the cringe fringe to understand that most of them see racism around every corner. Even in places it doesn’t exist.

But not to worry, this same anti-western attitude exists in my country too.

Pointing out the irony that the same people with this mentality are also the same ones who say that migrants will have a better life in the west. Even though it’s bigoted and full of racism under every stone

Sorry you still are making no sense

As I said the UK has racism just not in my opinion the systematic racism you seemed to be claiming it has (why is that?)

What is a ‘western attitude’ and how is pointing out racism an ‘anti-western attitude’ are you saying you are opposed to tackling racism because you think racism is a ‘western attitude’ – who are these ‘westerners’ and why do you think them racists?

Sorry as I was explaining many migrated to the US when it still had slavery and then segregation, clear signs of racism, but that didn’t mean that many didn’t hope to find a better life.

As I say your argument seems to be very confused.

I'll do my best to control my subliminal desires. I often think about my wild uninhibited times during the 1970s and 1980s when America was great.
Lots of Brits go around the world and act in an arrogant manner, and commit crimes. They do go to small countries. When I was in Malta, a Brit got caught after rape of a local underage girl. She got pregnant and he was forced to marry her, pursuant the local Catholic norms. Many Muslim countries are small too, like Bahrain and Qatar. The Brits make lots of money there and they should act accordingly, as they expect of others.

I have not particularly followed the Brexit thread
The main one that springs to mind is importing cereals from Canada, something that ended when we joined the EEC
If we help them in the production of goods that the EU DICTATE are bought in from China, a lot of reciprocal business will result, mainly in our consultancy. LED lighting is a prime example. We have been completely scammed by China
Let me tell you a story here.
A long time ago, long before the EEC was even thought of, a country called Ireland had problems with several years of crop failure due to the humid conditions and rain causing the grain to grow pathogenic molds.
Some bright spark in London, suggested that they grew green green grass, imported Jersey cows, and produced £20 million (today's figure) of milk for us. In return, we would grow the crops in the dry areas of Cornwall and Devon.
Today, we still import around 80% of our milk from Ireland.
Out of the blue last year, Ireland were told by Brussels, "As part of a restructure, from 2021 all exports of milk to the UK will terminate"
It is highly likely that if this happens, Brussels will be paying Ireland to pump the milk down the sewer.
As I mentioned above, India has advanced faster than most similar countries. Electronics and medical equipment are areas in which they would be happy to enter a growing market
We will only have a problem if Brussels DELIBERATELY sets out to disrupt our supplies. Towards the end of negotiations, the then head of the EU, openly told our negotiator that they would have the UK on their knees begging. Whether the person realized that h was being recorded has never been established, But when it made headline news here, the opinion polls showed a rise in support of Brexit of 20%

Perhaps the biggest horror to us is the possibility of the EU establishing a military command.
Much of my concern involves classified information, but the entire UK military are horrified..... Brussels in command, NATO scratching their heads, EU countries getting ever closer to the Russian borders........ I am sure that you can join up the dots.

Sadly, every country has it's riff-raff and the UK is no exception. The type of people you mention, would probably be behind bars if they had remained in the UK.
As far as I am concerned, provided that justice is not corrupt, people who seriously break the laws of other countries should face the consequences.

I will go along with that. I have been to more than 43 countries in Europe, Africa, and Asia, and here in North America. I liked Canada real well.

I can see that as a valid circumstance when it comes to poor people from poor nations like Sudan or Burkina Faso. Lots of Arab oil rich nations give their people over $4000 each month in oil revenue sharing. They also give their people free medical services and free education and free housing. It's never the same as you go from place to place. I would agree that UK is over-crowded, but then again so is Malta.

A good example of this is Stormmountain man. Look at this post.
People like him won’t think twice about labeling an entire country “racist” because there was a hate group that formed within its borders. This is the anti-American, anti-western, and occasionally anti-British attitude I’m taking about.

If you’re still confused. Then there’s simply no helping you.

    Fucking Bullshit !
Guests at a luxury spa hotel have complained after discovering they were sharing their break with asylum seekers. Around 35 migrants were checked into the four star Daresbury Park Hotel in Warrington, Cheshire, at an estimated cost to the taxpayer of £2,000 a night for the group.

Really roughing it courtesy of the British tax payer (and that's one hotel near us )
