Trump is in search of an attack ploy such as the Willie Horton ad which utilized fear and resurrected Bush's campaign in 1988. Trump's campaign during the summer has been to try to paint Biden as a radical leftist. Willie Horton attack ad Youtube video:
Trump's sister bitterly criticizes him in conversations secretly recorded by her niece Mary Trump By Kelly Mena and Jeremy Diamond, CNN Updated 8:41 AM ET, Sun August 23, 2020 Maryanne Trump Barry criticized her brother, Donald Trump, in audio secretly recorded by her niece Mary Trump - CNNPolitics excerpt: "Maryanne Trump Barry bitterly criticized her brother, President Donald Trump, saying, "Donald's out for Donald," and appeared to confirm her niece Mary Trump's previous allegations that he had a friend take his SATs to get into college, according to audio excerpts obtained by CNN. The Washington Post first obtained the previously unreleased transcripts and audio from Mary Trump, author of a recent bombshell book about the President and one of his most outspoken critics. Mary Trump, who has said that Donald Trump is unfit to be president and has voiced support for his rival Joe Biden, revealed to the Post that she had secretly taped 15 hours of face-to-face conversations with Barry in 2018 and 2019. In one of the conversations revealed by the Post, Trump's sister called him "cruel." Among the some of the more critical comments made by Barry was commenting on how her younger 74-year-old brother operated as president. "His goddamned tweet and lying, oh my God," she said, according to the recording. "I'm talking too freely, but you know. The change of stories. The lack of preparation. The lying. Holy shit.""
Trump is accusing the FDA of hampering vaccine testing to damage his chance of reelection. COVID news: Trump deep state FDA, Biden prepared to shut down country
Trump served McDonald's items to the Clemson Tigers football team because cooks weren't available due to the government shutdown he started after his own Republican party wouldn't give him U.S. taxpayer money for his wall that he said Mexico would finance. He later repurposed taxpayer money to pay for his wall by declaring a fake national emergency. To be symbolic, he should have stacked the Big Macs to form a wall.
Somebody ran over my Biden sign. I reinstalled it with fence stakes all around it between my mail box and a culvert. They can still run it over but I'll have more proof of what happened when they bend the stakes, hit my mail box, and go into the culvert.
"I hardly know her. I haven’t seen her in years. She’s old and can’t really string two sentences together” Donald Trump, describing his sister. What a nice guy.
There Is No Evidence That Voting By Mail Gives One Party An Advantage Could that change this fall? By Lee Drutman May 12, 2020, at 6:00 AM There Is No Evidence That Voting By Mail Gives One Party An Advantage excerpt: "But before the political fighting gets too ugly, lawmakers really ought to look at the evidence. Numerous studies have arrived at the same conclusion: Voting by mail doesn’t provide any clear partisan advantage. In fact, as states have expanded their use of mailed ballots over the last decade — including five states that conduct all-mail elections by default — both parties have enjoyed a small but equal increase in turnout. In short: voting by mail is more convenient for some voters but more difficult for others, and these conflicting factors appear to cancel each other out, dampening any partisan advantage. Moreover, the vast majority of nonvoters don’t participate not because it’s too inconvenient to vote, but because voting isn’t a habit for them. Maybe they don’t care about politics, maybe they don’t think their vote matters, maybe they don’t like any of the candidates, or maybe it’s some combination of all of the above. But the bottom line is that these voters’ decision to vote depends more on whether somebody around them can motivate them to vote, not whether they are able to vote by mail or in person."
The U.S. Supreme Court won't hear arguments until after the 2020 election. Trump ‘like a child’ in responding to coronavirus, Biden says In a speech about health care, the presumptive Democratic nominee criticized what he called the president’s “whining and self-pity.” By MAX COHEN 06/25/2020 04:34 PM EDT Trump will urge Supreme Court to strike down Obamacare excerpt: “[Trump’s] like a child who can’t believe this has happened to him — all his whining and self-pity,” Biden said during a speech in Lancaster, Pa. “Well, this pandemic didn’t happen to him. It happened to all of us. And his job isn’t to whine about it. His job is to do something about it, to lead.” During the speech in a recreation center gym, Biden called on the Trump administration to stop its ongoing lawsuit against the Affordable Care Act, warning that it could lead to millions of Americans losing coverage. “Perhaps most cruelly of all, if Donald Trump has his way, those who have complications from Covid-19 could become the new preexisting conditions,” said Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. “If Donald Trump prevails in court, insurers would be allowed once again to strip away coverage, jack up premiums, simply because of the battle they survived fighting coronavirus.”
Even William Barr urged Trump not to try to have the Supreme Court throw out the entire Affordable Care Act.
White House transforms from people's house to campaign venue Behind the scenes: It's unprecedented in modern politics for the White House to be used as the site of an explicitly political event. Here's what the transformation has looked like. By Shannon Pettypiece Aug. 23, 2020, 11:15 AM EDT / Updated Aug. 23, 2020, 10:22 AM EDT White House transforms from people’s house to campaign venue excerpt: "Behind the scenes this past week, campaign and convention staffers began work on the White House South Lawn setting up lights, speakers and a stage that would be used for President Donald Trump to deliver his acceptance speech as the Republican Party’s presidential nominee. Trucks brought in long metal poles and beams, and construction equipment was set up adjacent to the Rose Garden. It is unprecedented in modern politics for the White House to be used as the site of an explicitly political event, with past presidents maintaining some boundaries between the office of the presidency and their re-election bids. Trump has been smashing those norms for months — attacking Democratic rival Joe Biden from the Rose Garden and playing campaign-style videos in the White House briefing room — but his prime-time convention address will represent the most blatant blurring of the lines yet."
It was a good speech in that he managed to get all the way through it without stumbling badly and it sounded inspirational in much the same way that one towards the end of that Independence Day movie sounds But it was a bad speech in that it didn't deliver the information needed; what's the Covid action plan? How are you going to stop 49 cities getting trashed again? What are you going to do about law and order? At least he said something about not being reliant on China, but nothing really on an economic recovery plan The light vs darkness stuff was all a little weird, the whole speech was just a little too simple And the dude just looks so damn old
They have to do something with it not actually being affordable for those that are self employed, how many voters is that?
Trump's sabotage efforts appear to have no bounds. Even the Trump-pandering attorney general William Barr of the DOJ who petitioned the Supreme Court to abolish the ACA at Trump's direction is having difficulty fathoming it. Trump has sabotaged his own administration's coronavirus guidelines during a deadly global pandemic that has killed over 180,000 Americans for the sake of ideological posturing in front of his base, like a contestant on one of the beauty pageants he used to own.
hmm, Faux news said it was an excellent speech. Crickey, first you fancy yourself as an epidemiologist, and now you fancy yourself a political scientist. Which is it, mate? Multitasking is not your forte.
Melania's Christmas room decoration was stark and icy cold with a lack of colors, similar to the new look of the Rose Garden she renovated (some say denigrated). Twitter Has Some Thoughts on Melania Trump’s New Rose Garden By Christian Allaire August 23, 2020 Twitter Has Some Thoughts on Melania Trump’s New Rose Garden excerpt: "The early reviews of the renovation, however, have called it anything but gorgeous. Twitter users have largely criticized the renovation; many think the new design is sterile, bland, and devoid of any joy. (The choice of words also calls back to her choice of eerie Gilead-like Christmas decorations.) “Trump took the post boxes out of the post office, the roses out of the rose garden, and the united out of the United States,” wrote one user. "Melania tearing out all the flowers and trees in the Rose Garden and leaving it a mere shell of what it once was is a metaphor for Trump’s entire presidency,” wrote another."
