Trump has lost the elderly and the military. Two historically conservative guarantees although I really chuckle at how far Republican assume this supports goes. Not every person willing to give up 4 years of their life thinks like them. I guess they assume it's still a force that is 90% white and "not racist" but pro white rights.

Think of how they recruit. They take people with no economic mobility. For poor families who can't afford college being a Marine is their shot. So with the long standing racial divide in America this means a lot of black and brown people are willing to be shot at if they can pay of their mom's house. You can be 18 or 19 years old and buying 50K sports cars in addition to the house. You were in high school 6 months ago and all your friends from there are working fast food driving a 20 year old minivan. The recruiter is going to tell you this. Everyone likes money.

Polls have shown that Trump's highest approval in the military has come from the infantry and his lowest from higher level personnel.

Trump is known for his rash, jackass, 'let's swarm the enemy' approach which apparently has an appeal with the infantry, whereas it elicits a cool reception by the more rational-minded personnel in higher level positions.

 

He still has a lot of support. Especially in the last 20 years people who don't agree with Republicans don't join. Why would they help fight for the 1% and private corporations?

I think they are sick of people hiding behind the service. For example Trump will go on and on about loving America but did he serve when he was told to? He could have fought communism and he didn't.

It was an open secret that the rich didn't go to war. It was just a matter of paying a doctor to say they were unfit. Kind of like paying a doctor for a weed card. Everyone knows what is up. But he's also the first to get angry at a harsh words for the service. America love it or leave it. No room for free speech.

He would prefer an armed conflict. The more chaos he creates the deeper into his cult his followers go. The chaos is confirmation that without him there would be 10X more.

To some of the hardcore Trump supporters, the health and financial hardship they incur caused by Trump's obsession with avenging Obama is worth it. They're waiting for something better from Trump in a second term.

For Herman Cain who died of the coronavirus, taking Trump's dissident stance on the coronavirus was worth his own life.

For the more pragmatic, taking the liberty of engaging in needless, risky behavior that causes death for oneself and for others isn't a great liberty. It amounts to Give Me Death Or Give Me Death!

 

Trump retweeted a video today. It had come from some guy who claimed he was with Groyper. CNN reported that the name was a code word for the Alt Right and other white nationalist groups. The video falsely blames a Black man for pushing a woman at the subway station in New York. The blaming of colored people is a common thing on the net, even here on HF. The white nationalists always want to point to Black, Mexican, or Muslims for doing something; however, they never point out to cases where their own committed criminal and more outrageous acts.
