Key model predicts 400,000 coronavirus deaths in US by January

"A key forecasting model often cited by experts and used by the White House has revised its prediction of COVID-19 deaths in the U.S., now estimating a peak of 410,451 by Jan. 1.

The model created by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington posted an update Friday predicting an additional 224,000 Americans will die by the beginning of next year.

The model says that as many as 122,000 of those deaths could be avoided with safety measures, including near-universal mask use, but it warns that easing restrictions could cause the death toll to be more than 620,000.

“We all must learn from those leaders of nations where the virus has been contained, or where second waves of infections have occurred, and where swift action has been taken to prevent loss of life,” IHME Director Christopher Murray said in a statement."

He does not do well without constant praise. For all the right wing hates the idea of a participation trophy they elected a man who requires them.

 

I almost wish he would. It might take that to open the eyes of the blind to see what Rump really is. With his publicly stated admiration for Putin's, Xi Jinping's and Kim Jung Un's "strong leadership styles" - you can bet the farm Rump would L-O-V-E to order martial law. His baby-soft ego & see-through thin skin needs such a maneuver to make him feel like a really big "tough guy" ................... since he ducked military duty when he had the chance to actually prove how "pro America" he is.

 

Has anyone in the Trump cult considered how many of these people at rallies are paid actors? If you ask them almost all people appearing in public on the left wing are this. And we already saw how low the turnout was for some rallies a few months ago. But now the numbers are up? People actuly do want to see him speak.

They think there is a sex cult in a pizza shop but don't consider the basic conspiracy theories. You are dealing with a fragile man's ego.

Some of his supporters see him as the trophy that sticks it to all the other people and groups that they don't like.

For some, the damage Trump did to their health and livelihood is worth it because it was done by Trump.

His voters are the kind of people to spend $100 if the liberals lost $99. I mean look at the slogan for 2020. Not any sort of real policy just "make liberals cry again". What a sad life. They really need to think people spend as much time being sad and angry as them. If not nothing is worth it.

I know many such people, and they are MASSIVELY UNDER-EDUCATED, have only ever had low-paying jobs that have no future, and don't know & understand what a mutual fund is or how it functions - even today. "Joe six-pack" and a carton of cigarettes .......................... but he owns 3 4-wheelers that sit outside his trailer. All his saved money invested in 4-wheelers. Smart, SMART plan for a bright future.

It's really easy to see how this sort of person sucks right into a blatant lie of a rumor ....... "Hillary is running a massive child sex trafficking ring out of pizza shops all around the country." You're talking about the dullest knives in the drawer here.

 

Trump looks really smart to anyone who has never cared for education. The poorly educated are his people for a reason. Wherever you go in the world the poorest and stupidest will be the most patriotic. The first to tell you how their family has lived here for generations and how some other group is the reason or all their failures. It''s just a little harder to be stupider elsewhere in the world because school is cheaper.

Republicans have 2 types of voter locked down: the poor white and the 1% white.

This is why his military support confuses me. This man's country told him he was needed to stop the spread of communism. He didn't go but now is the guy brave enough to stop the "communist" Democrat's. Anyone who has served America should be angry he did not.
