Matt Gaetz was upset with what he called a violation of decorum when Pelosi tore up her copy of Trump's SOTU speech. Trump has floated the idea of pardoning Snowden. Attorney General Bill Barr says he would be "vehemently opposed" to pardoning Edward Snowden - CBS News excerpt: "Attorney General Bill Barr says he is "vehemently opposed" to the president pardoning former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden. President Trump on Saturday floated the idea of pardoning Snowden, who was charged with disclosing classified information about government surveillance programs in 2013. Barr, in an interview with the Associated Press, said, "He was a traitor and the information he provided our adversaries greatly hurt the safety of the American people. He was peddling it around like a commercial merchant. We can't tolerate that." Mr. Trump had suggested he would "look at" pardoning Snowden in a news conference."
Good point, man. I'm asking the same question. We are dealing with criminal minds and crimes that have never been done before. It's a case of innovative criminals, huh?
Dr. Atlas: Coronavirus surges linked mostly to protests -- and proximity to US-Mexico border 'Protesting, sharing megaphones, screaming ... That's a setup to spread cases,' Atlas says By Victor Garcia | Fox News Published July 12, 2020 Dr. Atlas: Coronavirus surges linked mostly to protests -- and proximity to US-Mexico border excerpt: "The recent surges in U.S. coronavirus cases can be traced to two key factors -- crowds of protesters and proximity to the U.S.-Mexico border, Dr. Scott Atlas, a senior fellow at The Hoover Institution, said Saturday night. Most of the cases in the Southwest -- California, Arizona and Texas -- are occuring in counties closest to the U.S.-Mexico border, Atlas told anchor Jon Scott during an appearance on on "Fox Report Weekend." "When you look in the southern counties of California, Arizona and the bordering counties of Texas -- with the Mexico border -- these are where most of these cases are really exploding," Atlas said. "And then you look at the Mexico map and in Mexico, that's where their cases are. Their cases are in the northern border zone states. And it turns out the timeline here correlates much more to the Mexico timeline of increasing cases than anything else.""
Atlas is to Fauci what Barr is to Sessions. Trump manages to replace the rational people with ones who promote his ideology.
Yahoo Yahoo USA today Yahoo These are just the opinions of staff writers for the most part. Meaningless From that last link: "I think a more reliable way of assessing the deaths attributable to Covid is to look at the excess over historical overall death rates,” Little suggested. The U.S. has so far had more than 200,000 more deaths than it would in an average year, according to a Science Alert examination of CDC data. "When we try to understand that, COVID-19 is the most rational and likely explanation. If you don't believe it's COVID-19, try to pinpoint why this year has been so different than any other. Why would a new disease that kills people not be the cause?" argued Justin Lessler, an epidemiologist at Johns Hopkins University." Even if you go just by excess deaths, it would be just as ridiculous to assume all excess deaths over several months with lockdown measures in place and millions being more sedentary...that all those excess deaths were all because of the virus, as Justin Kessler just has An epidemiologist isn't a medical practitioner nor a statistician, he can't tell you how many of those people would have died of heart failure, dementia, cancer by now anyway had they never contracted covid It's not 9,000 but it's most certainly not 192,000. The ordinary layman not pre-occupied with wanting Trump to look bad can understand this
??? Did you really just do a post blaming Mexicans for the virus spread May I suggest building a wall to keep them out
New pandemic adviser in line with Trump’s views By JILL COLVIN Published August 17. 2020 12:05AM New pandemic adviser in line with Trump's views excerpt: "In television appearances, Atlas has called on the nation to “get a grip" and argued that “there’s nothing wrong" with having low-risk people get infected, as long as the vulnerable are protected. “It doesn't matter if younger, healthier people get infected. I don't know how often that has to be said. They have nearly zero risk of a problem from this," he said in one appearance. “When younger, healthier people get infected, that's a good thing," he went on to say, "because that's exactly the way that population immunity develops.” While younger people are certainly at far lower risk of developing serious complications from the virus, they can still spread it to others who may be more vulnerable, even when they have no symptoms. And while their chances of dying are slim, some do face severe complications, with one study finding that 35% of young adults had not returned to normal health two weeks to three weeks after testing positive. But Atlas' thinking closely aligns with Trump's perspective on the virus, which he has played down since its earliest days. While Trump eventually supported the lockdowns that once helped slow the disease's spread, he has since pressured states to reopen schools and businesses as he tries to revive a battered economy before the November election. Public health experts have long bemoaned Trump's efforts to politicize the virus and have encouraged him to let doctors and scientists lead the nation's response. But they questioned the decision to bring on Atlas, whose expertise is in magnetic resonance imaging and whose research has focused on factors impacting health care policy. “I think he's utterly unqualified to help lead a COVID response," said Lawrence Gostin, a Georgetown University law professor who specializes in public health. “His medical degree isn’t even close to infectious diseases and public health and he has no experience in dealing with public health outbreaks.” “Its very clear to me," Gostin added, "that the president brought on somebody who will just be a mouthpiece for his agenda and a ‘yes’ person." Gostin expressed concern that Trump was sidelining other doctors, including Birx and Fauci, because he had soured on their advice."
What ar you even talking about? Is any of this smokescreen of doubletalk an answer to my question: What was inaccurate about my statement that non-whites suffer more fatalities from Covid than whites? These articles aren't giving personal opinions on the subject. For the most part they're reporting the best available evidence. You provided a word " inaccurate", a CDC article which seems to back up what I said, and a "Face palm". And now such an elaborate denial that anybody knows anything but you.
Just copy and paste a relevant paragraph from one of those articles for once. Then we will go from there. I don't believe you even read them Googling something, then copying and pasting the links to the first half dozen search results isn't really an argument
The Trump Administrations latest action, supported by fascist right wing types is to cancel racial sensitivity training. I took one of those classes many years ago as a Federal Employee and found it useful but seemed kind of only a starting point. In the following years I still saw plenty of overt and covert racism and sexism in the agency I worked in. This country needs more of such training....not less. It’s way past the time when Caucasians can claim ignorance or use the worn out reply...”poor me”. The BLM protests need to continue till the country gets it.....more delay is going to create more justifiable anger. That conservatives continue to turn a blind eye to the kind of racism that is so institutionalized in America in unconscionable. To those who have fought a change to a more inclusive society, you had better hope that when Caucasians are in the minority, and that day is imminent, you are treated more humanely and graciously than you have treated others.
Trump now says wearing a mask is patriotic. So why does he seldom wear one? And why does he mock Biden for wearing one? Trump mocks Biden for mask-wearing, dismisses health questions in Pennsylvania rally Trump mocks Biden for wearing face masks: ‘He’s got some big issues’ Why does he think Biden has "some big issues" for wearing a mask and keeping one handy while he speaks? Isn't it this sort of ambivalent, incoherent attitude that helped the virus get out of control in the first place? He mocked Bide in front of a largely maskless crowd in a Pennsylvania airplane hanger where there was mo social distancing. What gives?
