Santa Claus won't be coming to Macy's this year

NEW YORK (AP) — Macy's said Santa Claus won't be greeting kids at its flagship New York store this year due to the coronavirus, interrupting a holiday tradition started nearly 160 years ago.

 

I would explain it this way: Child, that ignorant president Trump, you know the fat guy with fake hair and a spray painted face, didn't do anything to prevent the COVID sickness. Remember that always and never vote for a Republican, even if they run for county dog catcher. Republican's cannot be trusted. That ignorant Trump lied to the American people 30,000 times in four years. Never vote for a stupid Republican. His Boogaloo supporter shot up a police station in Minnesota so he could blame it on Democrats. There might be some Boogaloos at Macy's parade. Never trust Trump supporters, child.

 

That made me so sad.
I have been there, it is so magical.

 

Thus hopefully putting a halt to all the commercialism that surrounds this and other holidays and anniversaries !!!

Vlad is right. Christmas is about Jesus of Nazareth, about Jesus giving up his own life to pay the price of sin for mankind. It is not about shopping. Jesus was a Jew from the land of the Philistine. Nazareth is today located in the West Bank of the Jordan River. Saint Nicholas (Santa Claus) is from central Turkey and most likely his Christmas tree hails from the same land. Saint Nicholas is said to have started the tradition of giving presents to children during the time around December 25th, which 2000 years ago was known as the birth date of Zoroaster. So, Christmas and Macy's Day Parade did not come to their commercialism status until about 90 years ago. And most people accepted the change, because it gave us one season of the year which is devoted to good will amongst human beings, instead of perpetual greedy capitalism.

 

Good will toward our fellow human beings is not about spending money at the shopping center.

 

You're entitled to your opinion, but remember that whoppers like this are why many have and will continue to leave the democrats behind. I heard such things from my dad growing up. Made-up lies, all of it. Lied and complained obsessively about his own democrats, too. I still don't understand that.

What I DO understand is that a loyalty to parties instead of to our Constitution and the biblical principles it was created upon are the main reason we have so many problems today. I no longer believe a word anyone says about themselves or their favored candidates until I see said candidates previous voting record in office. VOTING RECORD, mind you....NOT what someone else SAYS about their voting record. Trump, of course, never had one to show, having never been in office. He got elected as a "Fxxx YOU!" to both parties. Serves them both right for being all talk, no action.

Anyone who believes a politician will fix anything after all his/her years in office doing didly-squat is delusional. The child you teach this to will eventually reward you with rejection and abandonment.

 

Ummmm... You are forgetting that pesky little "separation of Church and State" thingy... Don't ch' just hate that part.

He didn't claim it was in the main body of the constitution. He's pointing out that it is in there today, pursuant OUR First Amendment. Amendments are repairs to OUR constitution. They are a permanent part. We can change the constitution by a constitutional convention, or by a two thirds vote in congress, then signed into law by the president. The prohibition went into effect that way and removed that way.
