Recently went to get a tyre changed in a local garage, and after walking through the garage my soles were filthy with oil and grease
London is the dirtiest I’ve been barefoot. In 2018 there was actually a decent summer, weeks of 25-30c sun and no rain for ages. On one of those hot evenings I took my shoes off when I was walking around Covent Garden / Soho area (as I could stand it no more, hot feet in shoes is one of my pet hates!). Instant relief, but instant black soles! They were jet black within like 1 minute. The streets were gross, random crap everywhere. Every step felt ick... When I got back to the hotel a couple of hours later, I’ve never seen them sooo black, they were caked thick with it, and black dust in my toes. It was totally totally filthy. And that was only about two hours, imagine a whole day of it!
No need for me to imagine, as I've done it several times. You don't mention the Tube...ride that if you want black feet .
I agree. Hot weather gets your soles black in no time. The sweat from your feet attracts the filth off the streets. It has been quite cool here the last few days but the pavements have been damp and not wet. Same result. A 10 minute wander along my local High Street and my soles were coal black. - not complaining
it's been raining almost nonstop for weeks so my soles have been the purest white for quite awhile. well, at least the paths are a carpet of fresh mud
Around here, my family have a dairy farm. That's the ultimate place for dirty bare feet! Travelling. the streets of Prague, the Paris Metro or the Tube in London seem to get my feet the most dirty
