Well, I never returned to work after my CoViD scare... They've decided that I'm "not a good fit" and ended my employment within the probationary period; which is fine. I had made a note to myself that on several occasions the training staff were hostile as was the firm administrator. Further, though all were professional and experienced in their field, I got the sense that they weren't astute at training new employees. There wasn't a mechanism in place for measuring achievement, and so when the assertion was made that "based on feedback from trainers" I wasn't "a good fit", I didn't take it very seriously. I'm all about taking responsibility for things I'm responsible for. In my honest opinion though, they didn't try to ascertain my comprehension of anything. The only thing they could possibly have looked at was my score on a test for the accounting software's online platform. And you're supposed to get three attempts at that challenge, so I used my first as a sort of warm up and tried to see on what information we were being assessed to make a go of my second attempt. Anyway, the short version is I am back on the job boards hunting for work. Two staffing agencies have identified possible opportunities for me and I have an interview on Thursday with one of the staffing agencies. I expect another job is right around the corner, but you never know in the current state of the economy in the U.S.
I am so sorry to read that Soul - Their LOSS! One thing you have learned from this, is, do not tell future employers some of the bad stuff in your past. Good Luck my lovely, and keep us updated. WE ARE rooting for you. xxx
Actually I can't say I LIKE hearing that, and do hope something better comes along. I worked with an agency for years and it was mostly a good experience. Only two positions out of a dozen were bad, and I quickly got another gig after complaining to the agency. Aquent it was called... for tech pros. Don't know what they are up to these days. Best of luck!
