McConnell said he is ready to do a large COVID/ECON package now that the election is over. I just bet Trump will refuse to sign it, just to get back at the voters.

Top Republicans have been quiet about Biden's win.

“Top congressional Republicans silent on Biden win as Trump allies remain defiant” | Election Law Blog

    excerpt:

"Top congressional Republicans declined to offer congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden, or even comment on his win, as the White House and its GOP allies remained defiant that the race isn’t over for President Trump.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) were silent with no plans to issue any statement Saturday about the race, according to GOP aides speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss the leaders’ plans.

Meanwhile, Trump’s staunchest allies vowed to fight on, adopting the president’s baseless claims that voter fraud corrupted the results. Ronna McDaniel, the Republican National Committee chairwoman, made this the official position of the party, calling any results premature and saying that the election wasn’t over until “any investigations of irregularities or fraud play out.”"

    A sarcastic article about Giuliani.

Giuliani won't be gone completely. He's on Trump's legal team to try to overturn the election result.

Trump said that he won the election by a lot.

As a sitting president, Trump received the most popular votes in U.S. history in the 2020 election due to high voter turnout.

But Biden currently has 4.2 million more votes than Trump, the most for a presidential candidate in U.S. history.

Giuliani said the press briefing would be at Four Seasons, which led people to believe the Four Seasons Hotel. It was Four Seasons Landscaping, next to an adult book store and a crematory.

Former governor Chris Christie has been highly critical of Trump.

Christie's lingo 'inflammation without information' sounds like that of Jessie Jackson of days past.

Denial, and Resignation, From Trump and a Handful of Aides

    excerpt:

'Even some of Mr. Trump’s oldest advisers, like former Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey, have said publicly that he needed to have actual evidence to make the claims he has been making about the election.

“This kind of thing, all it does is inflame without informing. And we cannot permit inflammation without information,” Mr. Christie said on ABC News on Thursday night.

Now that Mr. Biden has been declared the winner, White House advisers must confront the reality that Mr. Trump will be a lame-duck president for the next two and a half months.

Since early Wednesday morning, when Mr. Trump angrily declared the election to be a “fraud” on the public, he has split his time between the Oval Office and the presidential residence, watching television coverage and brooding."

Nick Trainer tested positive for the coronavirus.

White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, Trump aide test positive for Covid-19

    excerpt:

"Nick Trainer, a Trump campaign aide, also tested positive, bringing the total of people inside the president's orbit known to have contracted Covid-19 to 35.

Trainer is the director of battleground strategy for Trump's re-election effort. It’s unclear when he contracted the virus and when he was last at campaign headquarters in Virginia.

The Trump campaign declined to comment."

Biden plans immediate flurry of executive orders to reverse Trump policies

President-elect Joe Biden is planning to quickly sign a series of executive orders after being sworn into office on Jan. 20, immediately forecasting that the country’s politics have shifted and that his presidency will be guided by radically different priorities.

He will rejoin the Paris climate accords, according to those close to his campaign and commitments he has made in recent months, and he will reverse President Trump’s withdrawal from the World Health Organization. He will repeal the ban on immigration from many Muslim-majority countries, and he will reinstate the program allowing “dreamers,” who were brought to the United States illegally as children, to remain in the country, according to people familiar with his plans.

Although transitions of power can always include abrupt changes, the shift from Trump to Biden — from one president who sought to undermine established norms and institutions to another who has vowed to restore the established order — will be among the most startling in American history.

When was the last time Georgia voted blue? It's been nearly 30 years

    excerpt:

"Georgia last voted for a Democratic president in 1992, with Bill Clinton taking 43.47% of the vote to George H.W. Bush’s 42.88%.

The 1992 election was the last U.S. presidential election where an incumbent president did not win re-election.

Prior to Clinton’s first campaign, the most recent time Georgia voted for a Democrat was Georgia-native Jimmy Carter’s 1980 campaign, in which he lost to Ronald Reagan.

As of Friday night of the 2020 presidential election, former Vice President Joe Biden was ahead of President Donald Trump by more than 4,000 votes."

On Monday, Trump promised to file his lawsuit. His sore loserness should give Americans and added appreciation of the difference between a uniter (Biden) and the Divider-in-Chief. I can't imagine anyone wanting to go back to Trump's chaos and authoritarian rule.

I can hear the Republicans crying foul already, as they did when Obama used executive orders to overcome Republican intransigence. Dictator! Tyrant! Trump, who criticized Obama's use of them and said he wanted "to do away with executive orders for the most part". True to hypocritical form, he ended up signing almost as many as Obama did in his first term: 179 for Trump with nearly three months to go, compared with 185 for Obama. Trump's e.o.s included an attempted ban on immigration from Muslim countries, orders reversing Obama-era policies related to the environment, civil rights and immigration, and diverting money appropriated by Congress for the military to fund a project specifically rejected by Congress: the wall.

Trump mistakenly thought the event would be at the Four Seasons luxury hotel and also announced an incorrect time.

It's suspected that the hotel was the intended location but Giuliani and Trump's people made a mistake.

Trump Campaign Ends With Saddest Press Conference at Four Seasons Total Landscaping

    excerpt:

"Now, Rudy Giuliani and his legal henchman have given a press conference at the Four Seasons … Total Landscaping company. In a hilarious mistake, Donald Trump announced on Twitter that the press conference would be held at the luxury hotel in Philadelphia, when in fact it was held at a small landscaping company next door to an adult bookstore and a crematorium. It’s a gaffe so absurd that it honestly sounds like a joke.

We are desperate to know which Trump lackey made the decision to book a landscaping company instead of the Four Seasons, but it’s impossible to know since everyone in the campaign has a black belt in poor decision-making. Giuliani told the tiny crowd that “networks don’t get to decide elections”, shaking his hands to the sky while surrounded by Corey Lewandowski and more unenthusiastic followers. It was a pathetic, delusional ending for the man who was once America’s Mayor.

Members of the press started leaving after the major networks called the election for Biden."

Numerous media outlets called the race for Biden about midway through Giuliani's speech. That's when the reporters started leaving.

Not much can be expected from Giuliani considering he dialed the wrong number and inadvertently gave away to a reporter's voicemail his shadow government plan involving Ukraine to smear Biden.

Part 2. may be about to begin: a comic horror show, starring the inimitable Rudy Giuliani. Rudy Giuliani vows lawsuits to expose Democratic election fraud: ‘Do you think we’re stupid?’ Send in the clowns. I suspect they'll just make fools of themselves. But meanwhile, in the streets, something more sinister is going on,. Mobs of Trumpsters, spurred on by the Donald's refusal to accept the reality of defeat, are marching in protest of the election results. Armed pro-Trump protesters refuse to accept election results, rally outside Oregon state capital
'This isn't over!': Trump supporters refuse to accept defeat
Refusing to accept the results of elections could mean the death of democracy in this country, the whole purpose of which is to provide a peaceful alternative to civil war and mob rule. And away we go! Law and order, my ass.
