Trump falsely contended that independent reviews by states means a delay in administering the vaccine. AP FACT CHECK: Trump falsehoods on Biden win, vaccine myths excerpt: "TRUMP: “I LOVE NEW YORK! ... The problem is, @NYGovCuomo said that he will delay using it, and other states WANT IT NOW... We cannot waste time and can only give to those states that will use the Vaccine immediately. Therefore the New York delay.” — tweet Saturday. THE FACTS: That’s a misrepresentation. New York’s separate review doesn’t guarantee a protracted delay. Trump is referring to a state panel of experts that Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D-N.Y., announced in September to review any coronavirus vaccine authorized by the Food and Drug Administration before it is to be distributed in the state. That additional review doesn’t necessarily mean weeks of delay before New York residents can get a federally approved vaccine. As a practical matter, the FDA will have a public meeting where its independent advisers debate the data. That’s an opportunity for any interested group to get an early look. Cuomo said Saturday that as soon as the FDA acts, the state review group would, too. “It’s not that these panels are going to do tests; they are just going to review what FDA did, so it’s just a review on the FDA process,” Cuomo told reporters Saturday. “We are ready now to receive the vaccine and then, simultaneous with the FDA approval, our panel will be looking at it. So, there’s no delay.”:
I just saw an article where the surviving Koch told they were wrong about earlier conservative decisions and he wants to do good deeds now, as in help homeless persons? Maybe he wants to get right with the big man in heaven before the appointment time?
Trump falsehoods. AP FACT CHECK: Trump falsehoods on Biden win, vaccine myths excerpts: "TRUMP: “Georgia will be a big presidential win, as it was the night of the Election!” — tweet Monday. THE FACTS: Georgia wasn’t a win for Trump on election night. It still isn’t. He’s falsely suggesting that any ballot counted after Nov. 3 in Georgia and other states must be illegitimate and illegal. In fact, such counting is explicitly allowed in about 20 states, and the Supreme Court did not stand in the way of it." "TRUMP: “Pennsylvania ... wouldn’t let our Poll Watchers & Observers into counting rooms. Illegal!” — tweet Thursday. TRUMP: “Pennsylvania prevented us from watching much of the Ballot count. Unthinkable and illegal in this country.” — tweet Monday. THE FACTS: His assertion is false. Trump is wholly misrepresenting a court case in the state and what happened at voting places. No one tried to ban poll watchers representing each side in the election. Democrats did not try to stop Republican representatives from being able to observe the process."
Trump and Pence lied about the Pfizer vaccine. AP FACT CHECK: Trump falsehoods on Biden win, vaccine myths excerpt: "TRUMP: “As a result of Operation Warp Speed, Pfizer announced on Monday that its ‘China virus’ vaccine was more than 90% effective.” — remarks Friday. TRUMP, quoting his former White House physician: “’Only because of President Trump, we are going to have a Vaccine by the end of the year.’ Ronny Jackson, Texas Congressman-Elect.” — tweet Tuesday. VICE PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE: “HUGE NEWS: Thanks to the public-private partnership forged by President @realDonaldTrump, @pfizer announced its Coronavirus Vaccine trial is EFFECTIVE, preventing infection in 90% of its volunteers.” — tweet Monday. THE FACTS: Pfizer notably did not accept government money to develop, test or expand manufacturing capacity under Trump’s Operation Warp Speed initiative to quickly find a vaccine and treatments for the disease sweeping the country. In fact, Pfizer partnered with the vaccine’s original developer, Germany’s BioNTech, in March and the following month announced the first human study in Germany. The White House announced Operation Warp Speed in May. Pfizer opted not to join Operation Warp Speed initially but is following the same general requirements for the vaccine’s development as competitors who received government research money. The company says it has risked $2 billion of its own money on vaccine development and won’t get anything from Washington unless the effort is successful."
Pfizer made a public statement after Trump's lie. Trump was upset that he was corrected by Pfizer. At the Rose Garden event on Friday he once again made his false claim. Trump said it was unfortunate that Pfizer made a false statement when in fact Pfizer was responding to his false statements.
Trump has a long history of using situations, even the most life-threatening ones, to pick more fights with people and take credit that he doesn't deserve.
More Trump falsehoods. AP FACT CHECK: Trump falsehoods on Biden win, vaccine myths excerpt: "TRUMP: ”’President Trump told us for some time we would be getting a Vaccine by the end of the year and people laughed at him, and here we are with Pfizer getting FDA approval by the end of this month. He was right.’ @MariaBartiromo.” — tweet Tuesday. THE FACTS: Trump’s suggestion — quoting Fox Business Network anchor Maria Bartiromo — that he stood alone in saying a COVID-19 vaccine was possible by year’s end is incorrect. Top health experts said they considered that possible, though far from certain, and were more skeptical of Trump’s claim that a coronavirus vaccine would become available before the Nov. 3 election. The vaccine isn’t expected to become widely available to the public before 2021. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the government’s top infectious diseases expert, had previously said that he was “cautiously optimistic” that a vaccine will be ready by late 2020 or early 2021. On Monday, he called Pfizer’s news “extraordinary” but reiterated that it did not mean the U.S. had its immediate cure-all for the coronavirus. The first step for Pfizer would be to apply for “emergency use authorization” by the FDA, probably later this month, which would allow for limited distribution before it seeks full FDA approval for wider use. Neither step is guaranteed to happen."
Most States Aren’t Ready to Distribute the Leading COVID-19 Vaccine A review of state distribution plans reveals that officials don’t know how they’ll deal with the difficult storage and transport requirements of Pfizer’s vaccine, especially in the rural areas currently seeing a spike in infections. by Isaac Arnsdorf, Ryan Gabrielson and Caroline Chen Nov. 10, 2:42 p.m. EST Most States Aren’t Ready to Distribute the Leading COVID-19 Vaccine — ProPublica excerpt: "The Pfizer vaccine is unusually difficult to ship and store: It is administered in two doses given 21 days apart, has to be stored at temperatures of about minus 100 degrees Fahrenheit and will be delivered in dry ice-packed boxes holding 1,000 to 5,000 doses. These cartons can stay cold enough to keep the doses viable for up to 10 days, according to details provided by the company. The ice can be replenished up to three times. Once opened, the packages can keep the vaccine for five days but can’t be opened more than twice a day. The vaccine can also survive in a refrigerator for five days but can’t be refrozen if unused."
This highlights the difference between a realist like Fauci and a fantasy-driven person like Trump. Trump has been talking since early in the year as if there would be a quick end to the pandemic, including a spontaneous one where it miraculously disappears at an unspecified date and others such as a vaccine that comes quickly from around the corner early in the pandemic and easily eliminates the pandemic. Trump's unrealistic thinking has caused him to dismiss pragmatic approaches such as social distancing that were readily available, low-cost, and easily implemented since March that would have mitigated the morbidity and the quarter-million U.S. deaths caused by the virus.
Trump's mindset contributed to more coronavirus deaths and economic damage than it would have if he had been reasonable. It damaged the public's confidence in Trump's ability to respond effectively to the coronavirus and other possible crises in the future. Trump injured himself sufficiently to lose the election that he still thinks he didn't lose.
The rural areas, where Trump has his highest support, have been some of the places impacted the hardest by the coronavirus and also may be the ones most difficult to service for distribution of a vaccine. Most States Aren’t Ready to Distribute the Leading COVID-19 Vaccine — ProPublica excerpt: "The surrounding county has a fatality rate of 4.5%, more than double that of Illinois as a whole, according to data from the Johns Hopkins University COVID-19 dashboard. The staff at Mt. Vernon is eager for a vaccine to help them and their residents. Illinois’ distribution plan includes health care workers and people 65 years and older among the first groups to be immunized. “Our people would not travel,” Young said. “If a vaccine becomes available, it would have to come to us.” However, Illinois’ plan does not specify how shots will be provided to rural parts of the state that may not have enough people or ultracold storage. The state’s Department of Public Health didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Young said she was not surprised by the state’s silence on rural vaccine access. “We get the shaft on a lot of stuff.”"
Dude, he lost the election, what are you all still going on about? Have you all given thought as to who you are going to complain about from January onwards?
She has to keep the pipeline open for her “made in Chinar” products. You know there is that “one guy” who runs the sweat shops.
I read an article, a couple of months ago, talking about Wichita, Kansas(where Koch lives), and Omaha, Nebraska(where Warren Buffet lives). City leaders said that Koch has never done anything for the town. Whereas Buffet has contributed money to improve Omaha.
McEnany said that one million Trump supporters descended on the swamp. It appeared closer to five thousand who descended on Trump's nepotistic swamp. Highlights From the Transition: Trump, Refusing to Concede, Cheers On Supporters excerpt: "President Trump waved to supporters protesting the outcome of the election as he drove past them in his motorcade on Saturday. Mr. Trump has refused to concede the election even as his loss in the Electoral College grew this week. The president, who was on his way to his private golf club in Sterling, Va., was greeted by applause and cheers. Supporters nearby carried signs reading “Best prez ever” and “Stop the steal.” Thousands of demonstrators fanned out for several blocks around Freedom Plaza. On Twitter, the White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, offered an exaggerated assessment of the event, called the Million MAGA March, claiming that a million supporters had turned out."
Trump has tweeted 264 times since election day. Most of them were false claims that he was cheated out of the election. He could have used his time to encourage people to social distance during the autumns surge which is decimating parts of the country while people await a vaccine. Biden Implores Trump to Confront a Surging Pandemic President Trump broke his near-total silence on the coronavirus on Friday with an appearance in the Rose Garden in which he threatened to deny New York access to a vaccine. By Michael D. Shear Published Nov. 13, 2020 Updated Nov. 14, 2020, 1:10 p.m. ET Biden Implores Trump to Confront a Surging Pandemic excerpts: "Mr. Biden released his statement less than an hour before the president appeared in the Rose Garden at the White House, where he announced no new measures to slow the virus’s long-anticipated autumn surge, which he hardly acknowledged." "Gov. Tony Evers of Wisconsin, where the number of new cases reached a daily record 8,256 on Thursday, said whatever Mr. Trump said now could not make up for his refusals to wear a mask and his embrace of large public gatherings, at campaign rallies and at the White House. While the outgoing administration could still help, Gov. Evers said, “they also report to a president who, frankly, isn’t the most consistent one as it relates to the things that count: masks, and making sure you’re not in public gatherings with a whole bunch of people to spread the disease.”"
In August Trump said it would be embarrassing for him to lose to Biden. Now he has lost to Biden and has to eat his own words. Trump said Biden represents 'made in China' while he represents 'made in America', even though he and Ivanka import dirt cheap clothing from China and other countries like Mexico and sell it at highly inflated prices at Macy's.. Trump also lied when saying Mexico was paying for his border wall. Trump says he doesn’t want to lose US election to ‘low IQ’ Biden excerpt: "US President Donald Trump told attendees of his Manchester-Boston Regional Airport rally that he does not "want to lose to a low-IQ individual" such as "Sleepy Joe," former Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. "China would own our country if Joe Biden got elected," Trump said on Friday at his first public address since the conclusion of the Republican National Convention (RNC) the day prior. "Joe Biden's agenda is made in China. Mine is made in America," he said, some 30 minutes into his speech on Friday. "We are finally putting America first.""
Wasn't it Kayleigh McEnany who said during her very first press conference that she would never lie, how long did that last ...lol...
