That was her first lie... So it didn't last at all. Never even got started, dead in the water, ended before it began...

    You get the idea...

A setback for Trump on DACA.

Federal judge rules acting DHS head Chad Wolf unlawfully appointed, invalidates DACA suspension

    excerpt;

"A federal judge in New York City on Saturday said Chad Wolf has not been acting lawfully as the chief of Homeland Security and that, as such, his suspension of protections for a class of migrants brought to the United States illegally as children is invalid.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in June that the Trump administration wrongly tried to shut down protections under the Obama-era legislation known as DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. On July 28, Wolf nonetheless suspended DACA pending review."

A promoter of the Pizzagate conspiracy was billed as an attendee of the MAGA march. A few members of Congress attended.

Rally brings together Trump voters, far-right leaders in Washington, DC - CNN

    excerpt:

"Mainstream conservative voices and elected officials such as Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona and Rep. Mike Kelly of Pennsylvania were advertised as speakers for the "March for Trump" event.

The "Million MAGA March" announced its notable attendees would include conspiracy theorists and others like podcaster Nick Fuentes, who participated in the deadly 2017 Charlottesville "Unite the Right" rally, and Mike Cernovich, who pushed the "pizza gate" conspiracy theory.

Leadership and members of the Proud Boys, a far-right group that Trump asked to "stand back and stand by" during the first of two 2020 Presidential debates, were in attendance."

Trump is not satified with Georgia hand recount because it won't attempt to match signatures on 5 million ballots.

Recount process in Ga. faces objections from Trump, GOP

    excerpt:

"Trump, Republicans complain about recount procedures

President Donald Trump’s campaign and the Georgia Republican Party raised objections Thursday to the state’s recount process, saying it doesn’t satisfy their demands for a hand count.

They wrote in a letter to their fellow Republican, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, that they have “serious concerns regarding the training and directives” for how the hand count will be conducted.

The letter seeks a re-review of absentee ballot signatures because the number of ballot rejections reported so far is lower than in the 2018 election. Ballot rejections declined in part because Georgia law changed to eliminate the requirement for voters to write in their birth years or addresses on ballot envelopes, instead only mandating their signatures.

In addition, the Republicans sought greater access for partisan monitors, more public notice before the recount begins Friday and strengthened ballot security protocols.

The secretary of state’s office gave no indication it plans to change recount procedures."

Once again just another frivolous complaint.

The Georgia secretary of state is following state law – period!

You can’t change the rules just because you don’t like the way the recount process works.

Trump should be complaining about Alaska.

Alaska has the slowest ballot-counting process in America. The top election official says security is the priority, not speed.

    excerpt:

"A revived security procedure, combined with the nation’s most generous absentee-ballot deadlines, has given Alaska the slowest ballot-counting schedule in the United States.

The slow count usually has only minor impacts, but Alaskans voted early and with absentee ballots in record numbers this year. More than 130,000 votes — more than 40% of Alaska’s total — will not be counted until at least next week, and the last ballots won’t be counted until Nov. 18.

Alaska counts absentee ballots that arrive within 10 days of Election Day (if mailed from within the United States) and 15 days of Election Day (if mailed from outside the U.S.) as long as they are postmarked on or before Election Day.

The 15-day limit is the most generous in the country, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Tiffany Montemayor, public relations manager for the Division of Elections, said Alaska’s vast geography means it also takes time to fly election materials to the regional election centers where absentee ballots are counted."

North Dakota governor has changed his mind and is mandating face coverings.

North Dakota governor changes tack and issues mask mandate

    excerpt:

"BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — After months of resisting ordering the people of North Dakota to wear masks and limit the size of gatherings, the state’s Republican governor relented in an effort to stem a coronavirus surge that is among the worst in the U.S. and that threatens to overwhelm the state’s hospitals.

Gov. Doug Burgum’s executive order Friday night came as a surprise and only hours before the state recorded new daily records for hospitalizations and infections. Throughout the pandemic, the former software executive had been leaving it to individuals to take personal responsibility for slowing the spread of the virus, beseeching the public during his weekly press briefings to wear masks but emphasizing a “light touch” by government.

But in a video message announcing his new restrictions, which took effect Saturday and will remain in effect until Dec. 13, a somber Burgum said, “Our situation has changed, and we must change with it.”

In a news release, he said the state’s doctors and nurses “need our help, and they need it now.”"

Changing the rules is how Trump rolls... Same as "renegotiating the contract" after work has been completed.

The people who are sick and dying from the coronavirus also need help from the public who can cooperate by abiding by virus safety practices such as social distancing and wearing of face coverings. It will alleviate stress on the medical facilities.

Earlier in the pandemic, Trump praised frontline healthcare workers for their work. If he genuinely wanted to help them, he would implore the public to abide by virus safety practices.

That means Trump imploring, not passing it off to Pence (who isn't even qualified to be running the task force) who at public events sometimes mumbles virus safety practice like it was an afterthought.

That also means Trump recommending it explicitly himself, not saying that he might have heard that someone on Twitter said that it might be a good idea.

Trump's ideal recount would be a hand recount with every signature verified with members of his retinue, such as mask-less Proud Boys with assault weapons, breathing over the shoulders of the recount officials.

Even that wouldn't suffice if the recount showed Trump lost. He would file a lawsuit claiming ballots for him were stolen by someone and would later say that the courts treated him unfairly when they didn't decide in his favor.

Krebs may be the next to be fired by Trump.

The U.S. cybersecurity agency seems to be finally realizing that Trump is much more of a threat than foreign adversaries.

As Trump Pushes Election Falsehoods, His Cybersecurity Agency Pushes Back

    excerpt:

"Efforts to protect U.S. elections from disinformation are proceeding amid reports that the head of the agency in the Department of Homeland Security that oversees election security expects to be fired soon by the White House.

Christopher Krebs, director of DHS' Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, or CISA, spearheaded an agency campaign to counter rumors about voter fraud and election irregularities.

It was intended primarily to target foreign disinformation but has ended up instead rebutting many of the rumors and baseless allegations about the election being spread by President Trump and his campaign, and it has apparently drawn the ire of the White House."

Nefarious leaders around the world should formally hire Trump as their disinformation agent. It would give Trump a job after he leaves office in January.

As Trump ignores deepening coronavirus crisis, Biden calls for urgent response
    Analysis by Maeve Reston, CNN
Updated 12:24 AM ET, Sun November 15, 2020

As Donald Trump ignores deepening coronavirus crisis, Joe Biden calls for urgent response - CNNPolitics

    excerpt:

"This is truly a national security threat," Dr. Celine Gounder, an infectious diseases specialist, epidemiologist and Biden Transition Covid-19 board member, said on CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360" Friday evening. "I cannot even imagine another situation — if we were in the midst of a war — that you wouldn't have handoff of information and plans to a succeeding president."

As the US smashed through another set of coronavirus records on Friday evening, Dr. Vivek Murthy, co-chair of Biden's transition coronavirus advisory board, told Blitzer it was "a grim day for the country."

"We're at a point now, even pre-Thanksgiving, where we are surging beyond any level that we have seen over the last eight months," Murthy, a former surgeon general under President Barack Obama, said on "The Situation Room." "What we do over these next few weeks is going to have a profound impact on whether this spread increases or whether we ultimately control the spread of this virus."

So now we finally see what Trump meant by "stand down and stand by" in his rallying call to his Proud Boys supporters. Last night, Trump held a rally, banding together his Maga supporters, Proud Boys and Oath Keeper Militia, many wearing bullet proof vest and armed. They inevitability was met by counter protesters and violence ensued. Many protesters and anti protesters were injured (one stabbed) and many officers were hurt in the line of duty. He then adds further fuel to the fire by tweeting angry messages through the night about 'Antifa' and berating the police force.

He has already lost the race for the presidency. There was no reason whatsoever to gather this rally other than to incite violence, cause rioting and undermine American democracy.

Conducting a meaning less rally in a pandemic (with record numbers growing weekly) was, at best, wreckless and stupid. At worst, this was downright dangerous and, if he wasn't a sitting president, a criminal (arrestable) act.

I hope for the injured, once DT leaves office, they will throw the book at him and be held accountable (and lead him away in cuffs)

An article about issues Trump didn't address at his Friday Rose Garden event, which consisted of his officials praising him and Trump praising himself for the Pfizer vaccine that Trump's administration wasn't involved in developing.

Covid-19 vaccine may have unpleasant side effects. That will mean it's working.

Covid-19 vaccine may have unpleasant side effects. That will mean it's working.

    excerpt:

"The vaccine, and likely most others, will require two doses to work, injections that must be given weeks apart, company protocols show. Scientists anticipate that the shots will cause enervating flu-like side effects — including sore arms, muscle aches and fever — that could last days and temporarily sideline some people from work or school. And even if a vaccine proves 90 percent effective, the rate Pfizer touted for its product, 1 in 10 recipients would still be vulnerable. That means, at least in the short term, as population-level immunity grows, people can't stop social distancing and throw away their masks."

Left out so far in the push to develop vaccines with unprecedented speed has been a large-scale plan to communicate effectively about those issues in advance, said Saad Omer, director of the Yale Institute for Global Health."

Trump's own security officials are stating the 2020 election was conducted fairly, the opposite of what Trump wants them to say.

Repudiating Trump, officials say election 'most secure'

    excerpt:

"The statement late Thursday by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency amounted to the most direct repudiation to date of Trump’s efforts to undermine the integrity of the contest, and echoed repeated assertions by election experts and state officials.

    The president was not impressed.

He tweeted on Friday that Democrats have complained for years about unsafe elections but “Now they are saying what a wonderful job the Trump Administration did in making 2020 the most secure election ever.”

“Actually this is true, except for what the Democrats did. Rigged Election!” Trump tweeted."

DHS assistant secretary Valerie Boyd resigned on Friday.

Bryan Ware resigned last week. He served as assistant director of CISA. Krebs is currently the director.
