Trump Campaign Officials Started Pressuring Georgia’s Secretary of State Long Before the Election — ProPublica

    excerpt:

"Leading the push for Raffensperger’s endorsement was Billy Kirkland, a senior adviser to the Trump campaign who was a key manager of its Georgia operations. Kirkland burst uninvited into a meeting in Raffensperger’s office in the late spring that was supposed to be about election procedures and demanded that the secretary of state endorse Trump, according to Raffensperger and two of his staffers.

When reached by phone, Kirkland directed the request for comment to the Trump campaign, which did not respond. The White House and the Georgia Republican Party also did not respond to repeated requests for comment."

It conjures up images of Trump banging on the White House door to get back in, like Fred Flintstone in the closing of the cartoon.

Trump started his campaign of disinformation when polls showed his support slipping during the summer of 2020.

Trump's claims about the consent decree in Georgia are false, as are many of his other allegations.

Trump Campaign Officials Started Pressuring Georgia’s Secretary of State Long Before the Election — ProPublica

    excerpts:

"“The Consent Decree signed by the Georgia Secretary of State, with the approval of Governor \@BrianKempGA, at the urging of \@staceyabrams, makes it impossible to check & match signatures on ballots and envelopes, etc. They knew they were going to cheat. Must expose real signatures!” Trump tweeted over the weekend.

Nothing about the consent decree — which was aimed at addressing the disparity in signature matches among racial groups — prevents clerks from verifying signatures. Raffensperger said his office has repeatedly and publicly explained the process for signature matches, and he laughed at the idea that he would coordinate with Abrams, who has criticized his office over issues such as long lines at the polls in minority neighborhoods in prior elections."

"Raffensperger expressed frustration at the lack of action by Republicans from the White House down to proactively address issues of election integrity. “If Trump and Collins were concerned about voter fraud, they would have proposed and passed legislation to fix it.” Instead, he said, “they did nothing, absolutely nothing.”"

Graham continues to insist that he was simply interested in understanding how the ballot counting process works.

Ethics experts and Trump critics call for Senate investigation into Graham's probe into presidential election - CNNPolitics

    excerpt:

"For the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee to suggest to a state Secretary of State that he refrain from counting lawful votes threatens the electoral process and damages representative democracy," they wrote.

Raffensperger said on CNN's "The Situation Room" on Monday that Graham had hinted that he should try to discard some ballots in Georgia.

"It was just an implication of, 'Look hard and see how many ballots you could throw out,'" said Raffensperger.

Georgia election implementation manager Gabriel Sterling, who works for Raffensperger, said on Tuesday that he had participated in the call with Graham on Friday. Sterling said he had heard the senator ask if state officials could throw out all of the absentee ballots where a "percentage" of signatures did not "truly" match.

Graham's comments "might have gone a little to the edge of" what people deem acceptable, said Sterling. But he added that he understood why Raffensperger and Graham interpreted the conversation differently.

So, basically... What Graham said was illegal, but not so illegal that anyone will press charges.

Where have I heard this before?

Find a large batch of votes in a pro-Biden area in Georgia with a small fraction of signatures that don't 'truly' match and throw out the whole batch.

In one of its lawsuits against the states concerning voting irregularities, the Trump campaign presented evidence that involved a woman who said she saw various ballots where people voted for Republican candidates state and local but didn't vote for Trump. She thought it was suspicious that all the ballots weren't a straight Republican ticket. The judges in the cases have thrown out such claims.

    Similarly, in PA:

Here’s what happened when Rudolph Giuliani made his first appearance in federal court in nearly three decades

    excerpt:

"Trump is seeking to stop the certification of Pennsylvania’s vote in the Nov. 3 election, alleging that Republican voters in the state were illegally disadvantaged because some Democratic-leaning counties allowed voters to fix errors on their mail ballots. Two voters named as co-plaintiffs with Trump’s campaign in the long-shot suit had their ballots voided and allege that they were not given a chance to correct their mistakes.

“You’re alleging that the two individual plaintiffs were denied the right to vote,” Brann said. “But at bottom, you’re asking this court to invalidate more than 6.8 million votes, thereby disenfranchising every single voter in the commonwealth. Can you tell me how this result can possibly be justified?”"

Trump claims Michigan election board was viciously harassed.

Trump claimed today to be the winner of MI.

Trump claims Michigan election board was 'viciously harassed' to certify Biden vote in Detroit

    excerpt:

"The two Republicans based their initial refusal to certify the results on discrepancies in certain Detroit precincts between the numbers of voters and the numbers of ballots tabulated. In theory those should be the same, but results that are “out of balance” by small amounts are not unusual and do not generally signify tampering or fraud, or change the final results appreciably when they are corrected.

The unofficial results showed that Biden won Wayne County by a margin of about 323,000 votes.

Trump has refused to admit defeat there and in numerous other jurisdictions, claiming in a tweet, “I win Michigan!” Twitter tagged the tweet as “disputed.”"

Trump didn't have any issues with Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, or Pennsylvania in 2016 either.
