A detailed article about the 2020 election in Michigan. The Inside Story of Michigan’s Fake Voter Fraud Scandal How a state that was never in doubt became a "national embarrassment" and a symbol of the Republican Party’s fealty to Donald Trump. By TIM ALBERTA 11/24/2020 09:00 PM EST The Inside Story of Michigan’s Fake Voter Fraud Scandal excerpt: "The true insanity was saved for Detroit. By early afternoon on Wednesday, hundreds and hundreds of Republicans had descended on the TCF Center, responding to an all-hands-on-deck missive that went out from the state party and was disseminated by local officials. Cox, the party chair, tweeted out a video of her comrades standing outside the locked-up downtown building. “Republican poll challengers blocked from entering the TCF Center in Detroit! This is egregious!” she wrote. Truly egregious was Cox’s dishonesty. At the time of her tweet, several hundred of her party’s poll challengers, attorneys and representatives were already inside the TCF Center monitoring the count. By law, Republicans were allowed to have 134 challengers in the room, one for each tabulation table. In reality, the GOP had far more than that, according to sworn testimony from nonpartisan poll watchers inside the TCF Center. Because of the overflow, election officials ultimately decided to lock down the complex, starting with the glass-encased canvassing room where the tabulation work was being done. This left dozens and dozens of Republicans trapped behind the glass—in addition to the hundreds of others locked outside with Cox. Some began to bang hard on the inside windows; others began to film workers handling the ballots, a violation of state law. To protect the workers, TCF officials covered some of the windows with cardboard—a decision Thomas said he was not consulted on, but absolutely agreed with."
The Inside Story of Michigan’s Fake Voter Fraud Scandal excerpt: "Just days earlier, a meeting of the Wayne County canvassing board had devolved into pandemonium after the two GOP members initially refused to certify the county’s results. There were valid concerns about some inconsistencies in the balancing of Detroit’s poll books; and yet, those inconsistencies were minimal relative to the 2016 election, when Trump won by a margin 15 times smaller—and when the board voted unanimously to certify the result. Monica Palmer, one of the GOP canvassers, caused an uproar when she offered to certify the rest of Wayne County—precincts like Livonia—without certifying Detroit. (Livonia, which is 95 percent white, had more poll-book irregularities than Detroit, which is 80 percent Black.)"
Ellis is still on Trump's campaign legal team and doesn't understand election law. The Inside Story of Michigan’s Fake Voter Fraud Scandal excerpt: "Tweeting out siren emojis, Jenna Ellis, the attorney for Trump’s campaign, announced: “BREAKING: This evening, the county board of canvassers in Wayne County, MI refused to certify the election results. If the state board follows suit, the Republican state legislator will select the electors. Huge win for @realDonaldTrump.” This proved wrong on two counts. First, the Wayne board—after a heated period of comments from the public—reversed course the same night and voted unanimously to certify the results after Democrats agreed to an audit of the county’s numerical inconsistencies. Second, the notion that legislators would under any circumstance be free to send their own partisans to the Electoral College had no basis in fact. Under Michigan statute, the only electors eligible to represent Michigan are those who will vote for the winner of the popular vote. There is no discretion for anyone—the governor, leaders of the legislature, canvassers at the county or state level—to do anything but follow the law."
Jenna Ellis in 2016 stating a slew of criticism of Trump. She's now trying to overturn the 2020 election for him. Trump's legal adviser Jenna Ellis in 2016 called him an 'idiot' and said his supporters didn't care about 'facts or logic' - CNNPolitics excerpt: "Jenna Ellis has been one of President Donald Trump's most ardent defenders since joining his campaign as a legal adviser and surrogate a year ago, but in early 2016 she was one of his toughest critics and deeply opposed his candidacy, according to a CNN KFile review of statements she made on her official Facebook page and in local Colorado radio appearances. Ellis, an attorney and former law professor from Colorado, repeatedly slammed then-candidate Trump as an "idiot," who was "boorish and arrogant," and a "bully" whose words could not be trusted as factually accurate. She called comments he made about women "disgusting," and suggested he was not a "real Christian." In one March 2016 Facebook post, Ellis said Trump's values were "not American," linking to a post that called Trump an "American fascist." She praised Mitt Romney for speaking out against Trump, referring to him as "Drumpf," -- a nickname coined by comedian John Oliver after a biographer revealed Trump's ancestor changed the family's surname from Drumpf to Trump. "Why should we rest our highest office in America, on a man who fundamentally goes back and forth and really cannot be trusted to be consistent or accurate in anything," Ellis said in one April 2016 radio appearance."
dumb and dumber. if trump starts to sweat, his toupee might fall off. I wonder how many of trump's advisors told him this is a bad idea?
US election: Polls find most Trump voters believe election was ‘stolen’, Biden not legitimate An overwhelming majority of Republicans believe the election was “stolen” from Donald Trump and do not accept Joe Biden as the legitimate President-elect, two new polls have found. Politico’s 2020 Voter Priorities Survey published this week found 79 per cent of Republicans believe the November 3 election was stolen through illegal voting and fraud by Democrats. Polls find most Trump voters believe election was rigged
Ellis of the Trump campaign announced a hearing in AZ that nobody acknowledges. Trump campaign announces public hearing in Arizona, but lawmakers say none is planned excerpt: "Still, the Trump campaign seemed certain there would be a hearing. "We are pleased that the state Legislatures in Pennsylvania, Arizona and Michigan will be convening hearings to examine the November 3rd presidential election,” campaign senior legal advisor Jenna Ellis said in a statement, claiming to have proof of fraud in unspecified states but not offering any proof. While legislators might wish to question Secretary of State’s Office staff members if they had concerns about the election, a spokesperson for the office said Tuesday she was not aware of any hearing.. The campaign’s statement also didn’t seem to ring any bells in the governor’s office. A spokesperson for Gov. Doug Ducey said he was unaware of a hearing."
Team Trump has shifted from cases in court to 'hearings' in low-level committees of Republican-controlled state legislatures. Few options remain, such as gossip tabloids, trash TV talks shows, and a future Trump TV channel.
The post-election trauma of Trump supporters has been desperate. Some bloggers are posting remarks such as, "Trump and Rush were all that we had left."
The situation in AZ looks bleak for Trump. It's not surprising that Trump's attorney, Ellis, mentioned a hearing in the AZ state legislature that doesn't exist. Trump campaign announces public hearing in Arizona, but lawmakers say none is planned excerpt: "The governor said less than a week ago he would accept the results only after all election-related lawsuits were resolved. Courts have since tossed out the last of four election-related legal challenges in the state. And the entirely Republican board of supervisors in Mohave County voted unanimously to certify its election results Monday, making it the last county in Arizona to do so, clearing the way for Secretary of State Katie Hobbs to finalize results Nov. 30."
Yes VG, I'm sure you've already gotten over Trump's loss, despite having spent the past year defending his every action however immoral or unethical it might be. Dude not only did you swallow the cyanide-laced kool-aid, you were first in line.
I’m sure Trump is going to just try to flex his position as the POTUS. I’m hoping the judge overseeing this one isn’t going to be easily intimidated by this attempt.
Trump is picking fights with his own people, such as the Republican Georgia secretary of state, who are unable to do what he is demanding. Georgia Sec. of State says Trump threw him 'under the bus' excerpts: "Georgia Secretary of State, a so-called Republican (RINO), won’t let the people checking the ballots see the signatures for fraud. Why?" the president asked via Twitter earlier in the month. "Without this the whole process is very unfair and close to meaningless. Everyone knows that we won the state. Where is @BrianKempGA?" "The Trump campaign requested another recount of Georgia's votes over the weekend, clashing with Raffensperger once again over demands that signature-matching played a major role. The Secretary of State's office says that's not possible because emergency rules designed to protect voter privacy require that ballots are separated from their outer envelopes – where the signature is – after they are initially verified."
If signature issues were of concern to Republicans, they should have addressed it well before the election. They did the opposite in the populated states of MI and PA by delaying the opening of most or all envelopes until election day. It created delays and consternation that Trump and Republicans used for post-election accusations that are difficult to address after ballots have already been separated from the envelopes. In PA, the Republican-controlled legislature was using pre-canvassing as a bargaining chip to obtain items that it thought would help them, such as doing away with ballot drop boxes and shortening the duration of mail-in voting.
