All I know is there is a tree outside my place where a LOT of parrots hang out every day. They are the nosiest gossipers in the neighborhood! Their screeching penetrates thick concrete walls... Just saying!
Parrot vocabulary is amazing. We have a 22 year old Senegal who spends a lot of time in the car with us as we go for take out because of Covid. A few days ago we went for a piece of pie, my wife said to me...I bet Calypso (the parrot) would like a taste of Lemon Merangue To which Calypso exclaimed “Lemon Merangue!!”
All day long the parrots are endlessly entertaining here... squawking and screeching, they use bad language when discussing the humans... especially the ones who cut down one of their trees last weekend!
Freaking parrots! Love 'em... but hate 'em at 7 am - they are the new alarm clock. Used to be barking dogs and the smell of fish frying... Now a colony of them has taken over the barrio. Parking themselves in the tallest trees, creating a huge nest. There are several dozen around the castle now, when we moved in a year ago yesterday there were none. Even the neighbors have noticed. But still. They are adorable parrots!
