More of Trump’s Banks Cut Ties as Backlash Grows Over Violence

    excerpt:

"Donald Trump’s tumultuous relationship with the financial industry is once again under pressure after his top creditor, his hometown bank and even his mortgage lender spurned him in the wake of riots at the U.S. Capitol.

The question is whether his other banks and financial backers -- including giants Capital One Financial Corp. and JPMorgan Chase & Co. -- plan to keep him as a client.

Fresh strains in Trump’s relationship with the industry began emerging late Monday. Deutsche Bank AG decided not to conduct more business with Trump or his family company while waiting for him to pay off roughly $300 million in loans in years ahead, a person with knowledge of the situation said. Manhattan-based Signature Bank, a mere 10-minute walk down Fifth Avenue from Trump Tower, announced it’s closing Trump accounts holding about $5.3 million."

The bank that loaned Trump money to buy an $18 million home next to Mar-a-Lago is the latest lender to cut ties with the president following the US Capitol siege

    excerpt:

"Professional Bank said Tuesday that it would no longer do business with President Donald Trump and the Trump Organization.

The bank, based in Coral Gables, Florida, joined two of Trump's biggest banking partners, Deutsche Bank and Signature Bank, in halting services for the president following the pro-Trump riot at the US Capitol on January 6 that left five people dead.

Trump borrowed $11 million from Professional Bank in May 2018 to buy his sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, an $18 million home in Palm Beach next to his Mar-a-Lago club, Bloomberg reported. Trump's personal financial disclosure and county records indicate the loan has a 4.5% interest rate and matures in 2048, Bloomberg said.

"Professional Bank has decided not to engage in any further business with the Trump Organization and its affiliates, and will be winding down the relationship effective immediately," a spokesman, Eric Kalis, said in an emailed statement to Bloomberg."

Trump's approval rating craters in final days

    excerpt:

"A new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll pegs Trump’s approval at just 34 percent, the lowest in four years of tracking opinions of the president’s job performance. More than six in 10 voters — 63 percent — disapprove.

That matches other polls conducted over the past week showing Trump’s approval rating sliding roughly 10 points following the Capitol riots — which Democrats and some Republicans say Trump incited with his false and bellicose rhetoric about the 2020 presidential election."

When Nixon left office in the face of impeachment for Watergate, 1/4 of the public still supported him. Some ignoramuses are hard core!

4,259 U.S. coronavirus deaths were recorded on January 12.

Meanwhile, Trump was visiting a section of his wall in TX and refused to take any responsibility for the riots at the Capitol when asked by journalists to comment.

Trump is still quiet about the bombing of Nashville and the coronavirus while he tries to take a last grasp at whatever might be perceived by him to be an accomplishment of his administration.

I don't get what the point of that trip was. Maybe he just wanted to get out of the house.

Trump touts it as "a promise made, a promise kept" only Mexico didn't pay for the wall, and Biden has said "not a single foot of wall
will be built in his administration" which will take place in one week.

btw trump fell short by 1,400 miles and it would have taken 3 1/2 years to complete the wall. In truth he should be furious because he'll never see
    the completion of his folly.

You are obviously no southern gentleman, while Donald Duck was a carpet bagger in a previous life.

You mean besides being born with a bad case of the DA, he faces charges of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, violent entry, and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
