For a man that built casinos, worked with mobsters, fought against weed legalization and Internet gambling, and was the single biggest supporter of a twice-impeached President, you'd think he was a complete shitbag. Turns out, you'd be right."

Dude, I know people just like her, and I can’t begin to describe how brainwashed and programmed they have become- it’s really a scary thing to see! To see that people have literally “bathed in the coolaid” and have lost their souls over this man’s lies, and are still fully committed to the lie- it’s sickening and scary. I can’t even call these folks my friends anymore because they are far gone and have literally become radicalized. I don’t communicate with any of them anymore and it’s sad because we’ve been friends for decades!

Aww man.:( I posted this before, but my old friends and I had to agree to never discuss politics or we could never be friends any longer. It worked. Now doesn't matter cuz' they're all dead.

If any of my brainwashed friends attempt to reach out to me (because I won’t reach out to them) I will strongly recommend we do the same thing- completely stay away from politics. I’ve got some friends that are Trump supporters that are actually pretty well grounded, reasonable and decent human beings. Some have actually decided that they no longer support Trump after he refused to concede the election, and were utterly disappointed at what took place recently. It’s going to be a long road to recovery for a lot of these MAGA heads.

Justice Dept. charges militia members, including military veterans, in Capitol assault.

As Biden’s Inauguration Approaches Pressure Mounts on Some Trump Appointees

    excerpt:

"On Sunday evening, Donovan Crowl, 50, a former U.S. Marine, and Jessica Watkins, 38, an Army veteran, turned themselves in to authorities in Ohio after they published photos of themselves on social media wearing combat gear and saying that they had stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 in order to stop Congress from certifying the Electoral College victory of President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr.

The F.B.I. said that Ms. Watkins’s group is a unit of the Oath Keepers and that she and Mr. Crowl were wearing Oath Keepers patches.

The recent arrests of veterans and former law enforcement personnel underscore the Justice Department’s worry that some of the attackers may have been part of more coordinated efforts to attack Congress and that they employed specialized skills in the assault. Videos and photos have revealed chilling scenes of rioters weaving through the mobs inside the Capitol in tight formation, wearing tactical gear, carrying restraints, and using hand signals to communicate.

Michael R. Sherwin, the acting U.S. attorney in Washington, said on Friday that his prosecutors were working to build more serious sedition and murder cases against such groups if the evidence permits, and that focusing on militia members and other extremists would be a top priority.

“All of these extremist groups are being looked at in terms of their participation at the Capitol,” Mr. Sherwin said."|

Capitol Rioter Threatened to Shoot His Kids If They Snitched: Feds

    excerpt:

"The FBI on Monday announced charges against more alleged Capitol attackers, including a Texas member of a far-right militia.

Feds have previously unsealed criminal charges against dozens of people accused of storming the Capitol in a pro-Trump riot on January 6. Newly named among them are Nicolas Moncada, who was arrested by the FBI’s New York office, and Guy Reffitt, a Texan. Reffitt was allegedly a member of the militia group “Texas Freedom Force,” and threatened to shoot his children if they became “traitors” who turned him in.

Reffitt, the Texas man busted for his alleged involvement in the attack, also had extremist ties, the FBI said. Reffitt attended the riot in a helmet outfitted with a camera, and what appeared to be a tactical vest, according to pictures included in court filings.

According to prosecutors, Reffitt was part of the Texas Freedom Fighters, a militant group that lobbies to protect Confederate symbols, and has spent the past weeks on Twitter accusing the left of being the real rioters."

Just before she was shot, she was behaving similarly. She was moving to various parts of the doorway and yelling in the faces of police officers.

The ultimate was trying to climb through a smashed window and approach members of Congress who had been standing in the lobby and who were sheltering in place in the House chamber just after the lobby.

Right-Wing Embrace Of Conspiracy Is 'Mass Radicalization,' Experts Warn

    excerpt:

    "Entrenched polarization

The online conference wrapped up the way many such discussions do: without a clear solution, at least in the near-term. The same what-do-we-do conversations are happening in political circles, among researchers and at tech companies.

Nobody expects polarization – or its spinoff, radicalization – to go away when Trump is out of office. It's now a fixture of the American political landscape, part of an international trend toward right-wing populism, said Arie Kruglanski, a University of Maryland professor who's written extensively about radicalization. He said the erosion of trust in public institutions leaves ample room for disinformation to take root.

"We don't trust the government. We don't trust the Congress. We don't trust the Supreme Court. We don't trust now the science. We don't trust medicine. We don't trust the media for sure," Kruglanski said. "So who do we trust? Well, we trust our tribe. We trust conspiracy theories that tell us what we want to hear."

Kruglanski said revolutions and wars throughout history offer examples of how quickly extremism can go mainstream.

"Every large political movement started at one point as a small fringe minority," he said. "And when it catches on, it can engulf the whole society. So, you know, the danger is there.""

QAnon reshaped Trump’s party and radicalized believers. The Capitol siege may just be the start.

    excerpt:

"QAnon devotees joined with extremist group members and white supremacists at the Capitol assault after finding one another on Internet sanctuaries: the conservative forums of TheDonald.win and Parler; the anonymous extremist channels of 8kun and Telegram; and the social media giants of Facebook and Twitter, which have scrambled in recent months to prevent devotees from organizing on their sites.

QAnon didn’t fully account for the rampage, and the theory’s namesake — a top-secret government messenger of pro-Trump prophecies — has largely vanished, posting nothing in the past 35 days and only five times since Trump’s election loss.

But QAnon’s prominence at the Capitol raid shows how powerful the conspiracy theory has become, and how quickly it has established a life of its own. On fringe right-wing platforms and encrypted messaging apps, believers are offering increasingly outlandish theories and sharing ideas for how they can further work to overturn the results of the Nov. 3 contest — with violence, if necessary.

The fervent online organizing seen ahead of last week’s assault has begun building again. A QAnon group on Gab has grown by more than 40,000 members since the failed insurrection. Thousands more have flocked to QAnon-affiliated spaces on the private-messaging app Telegram. One 12,000-member channel was so overrun with new members that those behind the forum temporarily froze the chat feature."

During Trump's last day in office and Martin Luther King day The KKK in Oklahoma decided to flood the town of Peckham with recruitment flyers and posters. I've been saying for years the KKK is still active. The KKK flags were at the Capitol attack in support of Donald Trump.
