I've always wanted to try what Americans call 'biscuits' the ones they have warm or with gravy. The UK calls cookies cookies biscuits. I wonder if we have an equivalent?
This is commonly called liquor sauce or simply liquor (the term liquor does not imply alcohol content in its original meaning), traditionally made using the water kept from the preparation of the stewed eels. However, many shops no longer use stewed eel water in their parsley liquor.
Your potato chips are thin and small in comparison with those served this side of the 'pond' matey. Personally I also like a couple of pickled onions with my fish & chips too.
I should have added matey, the 'Huss' or sometimes called 'rock salmon' is a cousin of the shark. It has only one bone - the spine and this is more in the way of cartilege than bone per se, which is why I prefer it - no messing about with tiny bones that could get stuck in your throat as you swallow.
They're ok, and I have eaten them occasionally, but I prefer fried bread to accompany a 'fulll english'
