The NY Times article indicates that Trump was engaging in what could have amounted to a Nixon-esque Saturday Night Massacre to try to coerce the DOJ to overthrow the 2020 election result.

Barr probably anticipated this type of Trump coniving and quit the DOJ just before Christmas.

Probe begins into thwarted Justice Department 'coup' to keep Trump in power

    excerpt:

"The rest of the Justice Department’s top officials, in a frantic weekend meeting, had agreed to resign en masse if Clark’s plan went forward, a threat that, according to the Times, convinced the White House to back down."

As Trump Seeks to Remain a Political Force, New Targets Emerge

    excerpt;

"The overwhelming consensus among Ohio Republicans is that a Trump-aligned candidate would be best positioned to win a competitive Senate primary, and no potential candidate has a better claim to Mr. Trump’s voters in the state than Representative Jim Jordan, who was Mr. Trump’s chief defender during his first impeachment trial and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom during the former president’s final days in office.

“Jim is well positioned if in fact he’s ready to take that leap; I’m not sure there’s anybody that would beat him,” said Ken Blackwell, a former Ohio secretary of state and longtime Portman ally who last month served as an Electoral College voter for Mr. Trump. Referring to Mr. Trump’s legion of supporters, Mr. Blackwell added: “In Ohio, it’s going to be who has the track record to show that their agenda respects the newly realigned party base.”"

Fuck Him! I did not vote for Donald Duck! I did not vote for the Tea Party! I refuse to fucking vote! Along with a strong majority of the fucking population! If voter turnout were any fucking lower, you could claim to own the US government, by right of eminent domain.

Yeah, perhaps marriage isn’t a good idea (or at least with Jenny Cudd) unless you want to end up like John Wayne Bobbitt staring in
your own feature film ‘Chopped Off"

Wall St theory claims Donald Trump could make billions under bold new plan

Former US President Donald Trump could be planning to turn his massive support base into a multibillion-dollar profit spinner, according to a popular new theory.

According to Vanity Fair, a theory currently making its way around Wall St suggests Mr Trump is preparing to reach out to his tens of millions of fans, and ask them to join him on a paid subscription platform.

“We’re going to be stunned by how much money he makes and how he uses it,” an unnamed Wall Street banker told the magazine.

The report claims Mr Trump could “tap into a subset of his army of 74.2 million voters and ask its members to give him, say, US $100 ($130) a year” to access content that’s been blocked from social media.

New plan could see Donald Trump rake in billions yearly

More than 2000 Florida Republicans switched parties after January 6, and today former Representative David Jolly of Florida, a Republican who has criticized Trump, floated the idea of running for Congress as an independent. About 7500 Republicans switched parties in Arizona. In North Carolina, 6000 Republicans switched out. An ABC News/Washington Post poll from January 10-13 discovered that almost 70% of Americans said the Republican Party should move away from Trump.

Airport police officer identifies suspect in Capitol riot after disturbance on flight

    excerpt:

"According to federal court documents, John Lolos was kicked off a Delta Air Lines flight at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Jan. 8 after he caused a disturbance by repeatedly shouting “Trump 2020!”

The airport police officer was “alerted to LOLOS's activity and witnessed him return to the gate from the airplane, but did not detain or arrest LOLOS when he returned to the gate," a federal affidavit says. "Delta booked LOLOS a later flight to his destination, and LOLOS continued to wait at the gate."

The court filing then says that roughly 45 minutes later, the office was scrolling through his Instagram feed when he reportedly saw a video from the Jan. 6 riot in which the man escorted from the plane “can be seen exiting the U.S. Capitol doorway, wearing the same shirt he was wearing the [at] the airport.”

The court filing adds that the man in the video was waving “a red 'Trump 2020 Keep American Great' flag hooked together with the United States flag, yelling 'we did it, yeah!'"

The officer then reportedly informed other officers of Lolos, at which point they detained him and found the same flags that appeared in the video in Lolos’s possession.

Lolos now faces charges of unlawfully entering or remaining on restricted property, as well as violent entry and disorderly conduct on the Capitol grounds."

2 Virginia police officers were arrested after taking a selfie inside the Capitol during the insurrection

    excerpt:

"At least 31 police officers in law-enforcement agencies across the US are under investigation over their suspected role in the January 6 Capitol riot, reported the Associated Press.

In the wake of the riot, it emerged that several off-duty police officers and members of the US military had been involved in the pro-Trump protest that spiralled into attack on the US government.

Investigators are seeking to establish whether officers only attended the rally where Trump spoke, or whether they were involved in the subsequent violence at the Capitol.

A Capitol Police officer and Trump supporter were killed in the unrest, and three more people died in medical emergencies."

A son reported his father to the FBI weeks before the Capitol siege. He says his father, now charged in the riot, 'would always tell me that he's going to do something big.'

    excerpt:

"The 18-year-old son of a man charged in connection with the Capitol siege said he warned the FBI about his father weeks before the deadly riot, The New York Times reported.

"He would always tell me that he's going to do something big," the son, Jackson Reffitt, told The Times of his father, Guy Reffitt. "I assumed he was going to do something big, and I didn't know what."

Guy Reffitt was arrested on January 16 on charges of obstruction of justice and of knowingly entering a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, according to an FBI affidavit that Insider reviewed. The Times said it was unclear what the FBI did after Jackson Reffitt's initial tip."

When radio stations refused to allow Democrats to give their opinion, Republicans said corporations have the right to restrict freedom of speech. When GW Bush went to give a speech in Denver, Republicans laughed at Democrats and sent them to a Free Speech Zone 5 miles away. When Gannet took over a newspaper in Colorado, they refused anti war letters to the editor from Democrats while glorifying wars in the Middle East. Now that Amazon and Youtube have restricted Republican political tripe, the Republicans are crying the freedom of speech blues. When have the Republicans ever supported freedom of speech? All legal history on the subject shows the Republican Evangelical Christians as the central driving force to restrict porn and nudity, the Robert Maplethorpe Exhibit, explicit language, and even what people watch on TV inside their own house (Mapp V. Ohio) and all that is on top of their wish to remove the freedom of speech defense concerning the flag. Yes sir, they want all the rest of us to give up freedom of speech and worship the flag and Jesus on command.
