Pence plans to form political group as he moves beyond time with Trump, Capitol riot

"WASHINGTON — Former Vice President Mike Pence is beginning to build a political future without Donald Trump, including making plans to form a policy-focused political committee that would help him maintain a relationship with donors, according to multiple sources familiar with his plans.

Pence, who left Washington and took a post-inauguration vacation with his wife in St. Croix ahead of resettling in Indiana, is expected to announce his new venture in the coming weeks, sources said.

To say the end of his time in office was rocky, would be to put it mildly. His relationship with Trump has been virtually non-existent since a mob of the former president's followers stormed the U.S. Capitol in a failed attempt to assassinate Pence and overturn the outcome of the election. Before the January 6 riot, Pence's time with Trump had been defined by the vice president's role as a loyal soldier."

 

Trump can defend himself at his impeachment trial using nothing but his own wits.

 

It will be difficult for his followers to watch him go so unprotected.

 

You can imagine just what kind of upstanding citizens become lawyers for Donald Duck, who probably consults with the Mafia on which ones are the best. Pence distancing himself is merely more of the same Three Stooges bullshit, attempting to keep the money coming in, while all the rats abandon ship.

 

I would actually watch that...

Since they didn't get enough votes in congress to impeach him, this should be interesting. The democrats are merely pushing the entire Tea Party back against the fucking wall in every way possible, simultaneously, like applying hydraulic pressure, and waiting for the pipes to burst!

Trump announces new attorneys to lead impeachment defense days before Senate trial

David Schoen, a criminal defense attorney who works in Alabama and New York, and Bruce Castor Jr., a former district attorney in Pennsylvania.

Both attorneys are no stranger to high profile cases.

Castor garnered headlines after he declined to prosecute actor Bill Cosby in 2005 on sexual assault allegations that years later sent Cosby to prison.

Schoen has similarly been involved with cases for high-profile figures. He represented Roger Stone, a key Trump ally who was pardoned by the former president after
charges stemming from the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

Schoen also met with disgraced businessman Jeffrey Epstein days before his death in 2019 to discuss taking the lead role on his defense team.
