Trump took migrants as hostages to try to coerce Congress into giving him U.S. taxpayer money for his border wall.

Now Trump has taken the GOP hostage.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/03/08/sen-lindsey-graham-describes-gop-hostage-trump/

    excerpt:

"He described Trump as “a cross between Jesse Helms, Ronald Reagan and P.T. Barnum,” and someone who both has a “dark side” and is capable of “magic.”

“What I’m trying to do is just harness the magic,” Graham said.

    Then comes the interesting part.

“He could make the Republican Party something that nobody else I know can make it,” Graham said, comparing Trump’s “magic” to what John McCain and Mitt Romney were unable to build with the party. “He can make it bigger. He can make it stronger. He can make it more diverse. And he also could destroy it.”

The “destroy it” line could be understood as a mere reflection of what could happen if Trump gives in to his “dark side.” But there’s another explanation: that it’s what Trump could willingly do to the party if it doesn’t play ball with him. And that seemed to be what Graham was really saying."

Even after the Capitol riot, Graham is of the type who would try to harness the "magic" of the great fascists of the 1930's era while thinking that he could somehow avoid their dark side.

yes, he will run, but he is not a formidable candidate. He has more baggage now than he did in 2016.

Today the Supreme Court rejected the last Trump case which was an effort to overturn Biden's victory in Wisconsin. I just ordered Pizza and Captain Morgan's rum to celebrate!

US Supreme Court Dumps Last of Trump's Election Appeals

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON - The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday disposed of the last of three cases brought to the justices by former President Donald Trump challenging his election loss, bringing a muted end to his futile quest in the courts to hold onto power.

The court without comment rejected Trump's appeal challenging thousands of absentee ballots filed in Wisconsin, an election battleground that the Republican businessman-turned-politician lost to Democrat Joe Biden by more than 20,000 votes. Biden became president on Jan. 20.

It was the last of three petitions filed at the Supreme Court near the end of Trump's presidency that the justices declined to take up. The court on Feb. 22 turned away Trump's other two appeals - a second Wisconsin challenge and one relating to voting in Pennsylvania, another pivotal state Trump lost. Lower courts previously had ruled against Trump in those three cases.

It already was clear that the high court, which includes three justices appointed by Trump, had no intention to intervene in the cases and others filed by his allies because it did not act before Congress on Jan. 6 certified Biden's victory. That formal certification was interrupted when a pro-Trump mob stormed the U.S. Capitol."

In contrast to elected officials like Murkowski, Trump doesn't have any options for revenge against the three members of the U.S. Supreme Court whom he appointed.

Trump has a near perfect record of court losses related to the election.

Of over 60 cases filed, he appears to have won only one judgment that disqualified a small number of mail-in ballots for first-time PA voters who were unable to confirm their identification by Nov. 9. It had no effect on the presidential election outcome.

The case that Trump won in PA shortened the time for new voters to prove their ID from nine days after the election to six. It pertained only to the state of PA.

Trump campaign wins case on Pa. voter ID deadline

    excerpt:

"Ms. Boockvar argued to the court that the guidance came from a provision in the commonwealth’s election code that allows voters to prove their identities “within six calendar days following the election.” Because the Pennsylvania Supreme Court extended the ballot deadline to Nov. 6, then the deadline for voters to confirm their ID would also be extended.

But the Trump campaign disagreed. “If the deadline is calculated as the statute is written, then as it pertains to the November 3, 2020 General Election, this deadline for voters to resolve proof of identification issues is Monday, November 9, 2020, not November 12, 2020,” the campaign wrote in a filing. They also said Ms. Boockvar lacked the authority to give such guidance."

Nearly a third of all Republicans say they ‘definitely won’t’ get vaccinated, citing Trump’s Covid falsities

    excerpt:

"Nearly one-third of all Republicans are opposed to receiving coronavirus vaccinations, according to a growing number of polls, as reports indicate many Americans rejecting the jab have cited former President Donald Trump’s misinformation about Covid-19.

Those who have said they were “definitely not” planning on getting a coronavirus vaccine suggested the global pandemic had been overblown by the media and the Democratic Party in interviews with the Washington Post for a report published on Monday."

Every investigation against Trump is a Witch hunt according to Trump. So with that logic instead of jail time perhaps they should tie him to a stake and ahhh roast some nuts on a open fire.
Isn't how he makes open ended sentences to lead people on ? Then claims that he is innocent ?

Only seven republicans voted to impeach him, because he owns the republican party, and they enforce their pecking order. Forget about licking his boots, he will destroy the republican party if given half a chance, and mock democrats as flaming idiots, attempting to force democracy on half the country.
