Trump and his following can place themselves in the same league as the Britich during the War of 1812

Here Is What Happened The Last Time The U.S. Capitol Was Stormed Over Two Centuries Ago
After the sad events of January 6th, 2021, we look back to 1814 when the Capitol was stormed by the British.
By Brett Tingley January 7, 2021

Here Is What Happened The Last Time The U.S. Capitol Was Stormed Over Two Centuries Ago

    excerpt:

"On August 24, 1814, British troops led by Major General Robert Ross marched into Washington City (now Washington D.C.) after defeating American forces at the Battle of Bladensburg, one of the worst defeats in American military history. Attempting to hold them off was a ragtag band of between 6,000 and 9,000 hastily-mustered and poorly-trained American militiamen and a few hundred seasoned regular army troops under the command of Brigadier General William Winder.

The American forces, despite their greater numbers, were easily defeated due to several tactical errors, coupled with the skill of British sharpshooters and the British use of Congreve rockets, a crude, early form of rocket-propelled grenade. In addition to the damage they inflicted, just the violent sight and sound of the rockets drove American forces back in terror. Casualties on both sides were relatively light during the battle, but American forces fled in disarray, leaving Washington nearly undefended.

With a clear path to Washington in front of them, Rear Admiral George Cockburn ordered close to 4,000 British redcoats and Royal Marines to march on the American capital."

Here Is What Happened The Last Time The U.S. Capitol Was Stormed Over Two Centuries Ago

    excerpt:

"As British troops approached Washington, Ross used his drummers to play a parley, a drumbeat meant to signify a request for the American leaders to discuss terms of surrender and/or truce. When no American commanders returned the offer, Ross and Cockburn marched into Washington with no intention of razing the city. However, after snipers fired upon British officers, the decision was then made to burn buildings, but only those belonging to the American government, to send a clear signal that British grievances were with U.S. authorities, not the American public.

While much of the Capitol was constructed of fireproof materials, such as iron, marble, and sandstone, the blaze inside did burn hot enough to melt glass skylights, destroy sculptures, and heavily damage much of the architecture. Some of the fires burned so quickly and fiercely that the British were forced to retreat from the flames, sparing several areas of the facility.

On August 25, 1814, a thunderstorm brought heavy rains down on Washington, dousing the flames set by invading British troops the day before. Several of the original sandstone architectural elements survived the fire, however, and can still be seen in the Capitol today."

Trump's expected version of the attack on the U.S. Capitol during the War of 1812:

"It was zero threat right from the start. The British were hugging and kissing American troops at the Capitol."

N.Y. Seeks Trump Insider’s Records, in Apparent Bid to Gain Cooperation

    excerpt:

"In recent weeks, the prosecutors have trained their focus on the executive, Allen H. Weisselberg, in what appears to be a determined effort to gain his cooperation. Mr. Weisselberg, who has not been accused of wrongdoing, has overseen the Trump Organization’s finances for decades and may hold the key to any possible criminal case in New York against the former president and his family business.

Prosecutors working for the Manhattan district attorney, Cyrus R. Vance Jr., are examining, among other things, whether Mr. Trump and the company falsely manipulated property values to obtain loans and tax benefits.

It is unclear whether Mr. Weisselberg would cooperate with the investigation and neither his lawyer, Mary E. Mulligan, nor Mr. Vance’s office would comment. But if a review of his personal finances were to uncover possible wrongdoing, prosecutors could then use that information to press Mr. Weisselberg to guide them through the inner workings of the company. The 73-year-old accountant began his career working for Mr. Trump’s father."

Two U.S. Capitol police officers sue Trump for inciting riot

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON - Two Capitol Police officers, repeatedly assaulted during the Capitol siege, have sued former President Donald Trump, accusing him of inciting the riot that left five dead and injured more than 100 officers.

James Blassingame and Sidney Hemby are seeking damages in excess of $75,000, each, accusing the former president of gathering and unleashing a mob that ultimately breached the Capitol after violent clashes with officers.

"Trump’s words and conduct leading up to and on January 6, 2021... demonstrated a willful and wanton disregard for and a reckless indifference to James Blassingame’s and Sidney Hemby’s safety and that of their fellow officers," the officers said.

"His words and conduct gave direction to and aided and abetted his followers in the commission of ... assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.""

It can be argued that Trump was also derelict in his duty. He sat for hours watching the riot on TV while doing nothing significant to stop it.

NY Prosecutors Subpoenaed Trump Organization CFO’s Personal Bank Records

    excerpt:

"New York State prosecutors investigating former President Donald Trump and the Trump Organization have subpoenaed the personal bank records of the company’s chief financial officer and are investigating gifts he and his family received from Trump, according to a new report.

According to the New York Times, Manhattan prosecutors have turned their attention toward Allen Weisselberg, who has overseen the company’s finances for decades. Sources told the Times prosecutors working for Manhattan district attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. seem to be working to gain Weisselberg’s cooperation in their investigation into whether Trump and the company falsely manipulated property values to receive loans and tax benefits.

Though Weisselberg has not been accused of wrongdoing, if prosecutors were to discover any possible illegal activity through a review of his personal finances, they could then use that information to push him to cooperate with the investigation.

Prosecutors are also looking to obtain another round of internal documents from the Trump Organization, including general ledgers from a number of its more than two dozen properties that the company did not turn over last year, according to the report. They have subpoenaed records from banks where Trump or the Trump Organization had accounts, such as JPMorgan Chase and Capital One, as well."

I'm just going to guess Mr. Weisselberg has seen some "wrongdoing"... Likely he himself has been doing quite a lot of it.

Like Trump, Gaetz has trouble mustering the discipline to keep his mouth closed.

Gaetz runs the Trump playbook for scandal: Keep talking, and talking

    excerpt:

"It’s an unorthodox strategy that former prosecutors and defense attorneys described as dubious and perhaps even counterproductive, since Gaetz's interviews this week risk handing fodder to prosecutors as they build a possible trafficking case against him. But Gaetz's path, they said, is well-worn by politicians who are more concerned about the court of public opinion than the courtroom — none more visibly than the former president whose politics Gaetz has championed.

“It would seem to me that he is digging himself a deeper hole,” David Weinstein, a former assistant U.S. attorney from the Southern District of Florida, said of Gaetz. “His statements yesterday seem to have given credence to the allegations, not defeated them.”"

There will be so much hugging and kissing during the Trump administration that people will be begging Trump to stop the hugging and kissing.

Donald Duck is still a free man, and these cops will get the justice they can afford, zero. Why anyone would want to be a cop these days boggles the imagination. They can't afford justice and half the pigs want a dictator.
