Manhattan district attorney seizes evidence from Trump executive’s former daughter-in-law

    excerpt:

"NEW YORK — Investigators from the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, acting on a grand jury subpoena, took possession of financial records Thursday morning from the apartment of Jennifer Weisselberg, the former daughter-in-law of a top Trump Organization officer.

Jennifer Weisselberg was married to Barry Weisselberg — the son of Trump Organization Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg — from 2004 to 2018. She has previously said that she had seven boxes of financial records from both her ex-husband and his father, some of which were obtained through divorce litigation. On Thursday, she loaded three boxes and a laptop computer onto a valet cart and wheeled them from her building to a black Jeep with dark-tinted windows that was waiting outside.

In Trump probe, Manhattan district attorney puts pressure on his longtime chief financial officer

The move by District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. appears to be the latest sign that Allen Weisselberg, the company’s highest-ranking corporate officer who is not a member of the Trump family, is a key focus of the ongoing criminal probe into former president Donald Trump’s financial dealings.

The subpoena, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Post, ordered Jennifer Weisselberg to produce all of the records she possesses for her ex-husband’s bank accounts and credit cards plus his statements of net worth and tax filings. Barry Weisselberg is a Trump Organization employee and manages an ice rink for the company in Manhattan’s Central Park. The subpoena asks specifically for records related to the Trump Organization and Wollman Rink.

I have an Article II, where I have the right to do whatever I want as president"

Trump said this on July 23, 2019. Of course, Article II of the Constitution said nothing about giving the president absolute power, but weren't you a bit surprised that words like that could come out of a president's mouth? I don't recall any Republican having a particular problem with it, but it didn't seem to make all that much of an impression on Democrats, either. Maybe by the third year of his 'reign,' the Dems fully expected garbage like this from Trump.

Still, can you imagine how Republicans would have reacted if a Democrat president had said the same words?

Good gosh, we'd never hear the end of it.

Truly a double standard- and the American people end up suffering for it, especially when we travel to other countries and they hate us because of our President. They’re like “what the hell is wrong with that guy?” (This really happened to me, not making it up)

Its not a double standard, he's a fucking billionaire and now ex president, which is about as close to God as televangelism and Wall Street both get. The double standard only exists, if you are foolish enough to believe you still have a justice system, and that both parties are not run by the wealthy.

Breaking the law and being peppered-sprayed is wonderful in the minds of a husband and wife who are Trump fans.

    excerpt:

“I think, for them, seeing the police standing against them probably came as a surprise,” Longazel said. “In their worldview, which is very racialized, they do not see themselves as being part of that savage horde that the police are meant to stand against — no matter what they do.”

Bill Harrison, a 59-year-old supporter of Trump who traveled to D.C. this week from North Dakota, beamed at his wife as the couple walked east from the seat of the U.S. government and darkness fell over the Capitol grounds.

“We just stormed the Capitol,” he said, a tone of awe in his voice.

In truth, he had not stormed the Capitol, only tried.

Along the west security perimeter, Harrison said, he and others had been pepper-sprayed and hit with batons by officers.

    “It was wonderful,” he beamed.

These idiots have no clue how lucky they are that all they got was pepper sprayed and baton beat. Those cops weren’t going all out, like law enforcement in other countries do. If that insurrection happen in South Korea with KNP (Korean National Police) responding or German Polizei- it wouldn’t have been a good day for them. Those guys don’t play!

Imagine such a couple around age 60 celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary and reminiscing at the party about how great it was when they got pepper-sprayed by police while trying to overthrow the U.S. Capitol.

You know, they think, in their clouded minds that they did something great and admirable. They think they are truly brave, patriotic warriors, and will be in the history books for doing something heroic. It’s sad.

Video shows Donald and Melania Trump meeting man accused in Matt Gaetz trafficking scandal

    excerpt:

"A 2019 video has resurfaced showing then-President Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump meeting a man at the centre of Matt Gaetz’s swirling sex scandal.

Jason Pirozzolo, a hand surgeon and marijuana entrepreneur, is accused of paying for travel expenses – including female escorts – on a trip he took with Congressman Gaetz to the Bahamas in late 2018 or early 2019.

On Thursday, Twitter users unearthed a June 2019 video showing Mr Trump and his wife meeting Mr Pirozzolo on an airport tarmac in Orlando, Florida, along with Governor Ron DeSantis and his wife, Casey.

Mr Trump was there to launch his 2020 presidential campaign at a rally in the Florida city. It is not clear why Mr Pirozzolo was there."
