Trump used the same bullying approach in LA that he did at Mar-a-Lago, such as erecting illegal flagpoles and later accusing city officials of being anti-American for ordering him to dismantle them.

How Trump scored a big tax break for conserving a golf range

    excerpt:

"‘ALL HE DID WAS BULLY US’

Trump’s history as owner of the Los Angeles golf course is a study in the hardball tactics that became a hallmark of his business career and White House tenure. When he ran into resistance in the secluded seaside enclave, Trump repeatedly tried to bulldoze his way through obstacles with threats, insults and legal actions.

In 2003, he sued the local school board in a dispute over the rent he owed for a piece of land he needed for the course; the school board prevailed. To block the view of some neighboring homes he didn’t like, Trump planted a row of trees without city permission. In 2006, he erected a giant 70-foot flagpole without a permit. When city officials objected, he accused them of being against the American flag.

“Councilman Stern doesn’t want to take down a flagpole, he wants to take down the American flag,” Trump wrote in a letter to the city manager, speaking of then-Councilman Doug Stern. “He should be ashamed of himself!”

The public browbeating was typical of Trump’s style, Stern said in an interview.

“All he did was bully us or try to,” he said. “If there are two ways to do something to accomplish a goal, there’s no thrill in doing it the right way. He always did it the wrong way.”"

Trump said that Republicans wouldn't win another election if voting was made easier.

Trump says Republicans would ‘never’ be elected again if it was easier to vote
President dismissed Democratic-led push for voter reforms amid coronavirus pandemic during Fox & Friends appearance

Trump says Republicans would ‘never’ be elected again if it was easier to vote

    excerpt:

"Donald Trump admitted on Monday that making it easier to vote in America would hurt the Republican party.

The president made the comments as he dismissed a Democratic-led push for reforms such as vote-by-mail, same-day registration and early voting as states seek to safely run elections amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Democrats had proposed the measures as part of the coronavirus stimulus. They ultimately were not included in the $2.2tn final package, which included only $400m to states to help them run elections.

“The things they had in there were crazy. They had things, levels of voting that if you’d ever agreed to it, you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again,” Trump said during an appearance on Fox & Friends. “They had things in there about election days and what you do and all sorts of clawbacks. They had things that were just totally crazy and had nothing to do with workers that lost their jobs and companies that we have to save.”"

Trump says Republicans would ‘never’ be elected again if it was easier to vote

    excerpt:

"Democrats often accuse Republicans of deliberately making it hard to vote in order to keep minorities, immigrants, young people and other groups from the polls. And Republicans often say they oppose voting reforms because of concerns of voter fraud – which is extremely rare – or concerns over having the federal government run elections. But Trump’s remarks reveal how at least some Republicans have long understood voting barriers to be a necessary part of their political self-preservation.

“I don’t want everybody to vote,” Paul Weyrich, an influential conservative activist, said in 1980. “As a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down.”"

Trump used a 70-foot flagpole in Los Angeles County in 2006 to start a fight.

Trump used an 80-foot flagpole to try to smear government officials in Palm Beach, FL.

Trump used the expression "they should be ashamed of themselves" in both instances.

    Trump's War With Palm Beach

    excerpt:

“The town council of Palm Beach should be ashamed of itself,” Trump responded. “They’re fining me for putting up the American flag. This is probably a first in United States history.” He went on Nancy Grace’s national TV show to complain that the Town of Palm Beach was unpatriotic. Then, ignoring the town’s violations, which grew to be a $120,000 fine and counting, he filed a lawsuit against Palm Beach, asking for $25 million in damages to what he called an abridgment to his constitutional right to free speech."

There are two trump golf courses on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, in California. Below one of them is a great beach. Trump does not own that beachfront property.

It can be argued that Costello's assertion stems not from Trump being treated unfairly but from the behavior of Trump and his associates which can be construed as terrorism and organized crime.

Trump's siege on the Capitol would have been considered terrorism if it had been perpetrated by an overseas religious group or a minority group. The GOP would have been outraged by it and would have referred to the attackers as radicalized terrorists instead of remaining quiet and even defending Trump. Consider a group of minorities attacking the White House like Trump and his followers attacked the Congress.

Trump sounded like a mafia boss during his pressure call to the leader of Ukraine and to the secretary of state of Georgia, Raffensperger, which invoked an impeachment and a criminal probe of him in Georgia.

The same retinue of motley characters keeps surfacing in Trump's orbit, like the convicted and Trump-pardoned Roger Stone who apparently was involved in trying to obtain a pardon for Greenberg who was involved with Gaetz.

Bombshell Letter: Gaetz Paid for Sex With Minor, Wingman Says

    excerpt:

"The letter, which The Daily Beast recently obtained, was written after Greenberg—who was under federal indictment—asked Roger Stone to help him secure a pardon from then-President Donald Trump.

A series of private messages starting in late 2020—also recently obtained by The Daily Beast—shows a number of exchanges between Greenberg and Stone conducted over the encrypted-messaging app Signal, with communications set to disappear. However, Greenberg appears to have taken screenshots of a number of their conversations.

“If I get you $250k in Bitcoin would that help or is this not a financial matter,” Greenberg wrote to Stone, one message shows.

“I understand all of this and have taken it into consideration,” Stone replied. “I will know more in the next 24 hours I cannot push too hard because of the nonsense surrounding pardons.”

“I hope you are prepared to wire me $250,000 because I am feeling confident,” Stone wrote to Greenberg on Jan. 13."

Flood barriers damaged by preparations for Trump's wall will be repaired.

Biden administration to return billions in border wall funding Trump diverted from Pentagon

    excerpt:

"The Department of Homeland Security said in a statement later Friday afternoon it was acting to "protect border communities."

"Construction under the prior administration blew large holes into the Rio Grande Valley’s flood barrier system to make way for a border wall. The flood barrier system had long provided low-lying regions of Hidalgo County, Texas, protection from catastrophic flooding, and these breaches have threatened local communities. DHS will start work to quickly repair the flood barrier system to protect border communities. This work will not involve expanding the border barrier," the DHS statement said."

A blogger said that the empty drum set behind Trump could have been used to do rim shots after each one of his pathetic statements about the election.

Investigators seek evidence linking Rudy Giuliani to efforts to oust Ukrainian diplomat

    excerpt:

"Two sources familiar with the matter confirmed to NBC News that federal investigators seized Giuliani's electronic devices on Wednesday to see whether they contain any evidence showing efforts to oust Yovanovitch and whether they potentially violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act, requiring the disclosure of certain political activities or interests.

The investigation of a possible Giuliani link to efforts against Yovanovitch was first reported in the Wall Street Journal.

Investigators are specifically looking into communications between Giuliani and former Ukrainian prosecutors Viktor Shokin, Yuriy Lutsenko, and Kostiantyn Kulyk as well as former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko, one of the sources told NBC News.

Some of the other individuals identified in search warrants as people with whom Giuliani may have been in contact regarding Yovanovitch include Lev Parnas, Igor Fruman, and David Correia, all associates of the former New York City mayor, as well as attorneys Victoria Toensing and Joe DiGenova and journalist John Solomon, according to one of the sources."

Beyond pathetic is the mass media attempting to portray the republican party as a legitimate political party, when their own membership supports a dictatorship.
