Life in a Northern Town (but is there? )

A Northern Beer . Dark Mild . Not easy to obtain these days

 

And now onto the club ,our favourite Cabaret Bar the Venue and we kind of crawled out at 2.00 am

 

Some Naughty dancing going on . We did consult the rule book and cant find any reason why people cant dance if wearing a face covering .Social distancing has gone hence the reason you can hug people gain . Anyway more important was the fact hat people were enjoying themselves again

What beer is this?

 

Its called Dark Mild lol

Milds tend to be lightly hopped compared to pale ale and are usually low in alcohol; strong mild ales used to reach six or seven per cent abv, but very few such beers are still brewed.


A nutty taste is common amongst this type along with malt

The one I had was called Nutty Slack



When you get chance you ought to try some of these beers. They are very tasty compared to the modern over cooled lagers .

 

What is the minimum percentage?

 

AS low as 3.6 . They tend not to be a strong beer but a tasty one. That is the whole ethos of cask ales TBH .

tHe one I as drinking as only 3.9 .

If its alcohol then the modern largers are better placed but for taste

 

Okay now to Sunday in the first weekend of opening up .

Just the one pub we visited but it did have cabaret acts on

We support our friends who are featured here doing the singing as they do songs including rock form our era.

To conclude this is the nearest I have witnessed to normality in nearly 12 months ,a long 12 months of misery and isolation.

So there is life in a Northern town and long may it continue .

We have the best beers up here and at £2.15 a pint
