The situation is dire if voters in a country like the U.S. which bills itself as being modern have to wait in lines so long that they need food, water, and porta-potties. The rationale for mail-in ballots, drop-off boxes, and expanded days and hours to vote was to alleviate that embarrassing and crippling situation.

Once supportive of expanded voting and having passed legislation for it by large margins in states such as PA in 2019, the GOP is now upset with it because Trump lost. It feels it has to restrict voting options in order to restore 'election confidence' in Trump supporters who can't accept that he lost a legitimate election and who are so out of touch with reality that they are looking for bamboo fibers in ballots because of a truther narrative about an Asian airliner that landed in Phoenix the night of the 2020 election.

Trump chipped away at his own electorate for the sake of pursuing personal vendettas on people he didn't like.

His battle with John McCain is an example. On the weekend McCain died, Trump raised the flag at the White House Sunday evening to the dismay of veterans across the country. After they complained, he lowered the flag for the rest of the week until McCain was interred.

Those actions have consequences, particularly in states where the election margin is narrow such as GA and AZ (states where Trump is now claiming widespread election fraud). Polls showed Trump was gradually and consistently losing support from the active military and veterans as his term ensued, including the infantry where he had his highest approval ratings.

This is one of the tragic flaws of Trump: not being able to let go of personal spats with people and other trivial situations.

An example is his inability to let go of the mistake he made about a hurricane that he said was supposedly a threat to Alabama. He doctored a government document with a Sharpie pen and forced an unnamed official at NOAA write a public statement supporting him on his mistake.

It's called mental illness. Only thing tragic about it is that millions love him and actually think that he is a decent, intelligent person and that his brand of authoritarianism is just what this country needs.

It's amazing and instructive how one lousy person given a position of power can finally show what republican thought and action that has been semi-hidden and is now out there for everyone to see. We're still in great danger.

Donald Duck and his followers don't comprehend the meaning of the word strategy. Their only plan is to continue to get all the free publicity they can and keep attacking anyone or anything that disagrees with Donald Duck. They're a mindless mob, that Wall Street pays to argue over the definition of stupid.

Covid is destroying the entire world economy, and shows no signs of letting up anytime within the next few years. Donald Duck and his followers have no future in a world where stupidity can be deadly.

He had South Dakota governor Noem with him when they kicked him out. The thing we need to grasp here is that we don't know exactly who among the Republicans have sold out completely to Trump; but, I think lots of them think "All would be great in White Power World" if Democrat votes were prevented or kick out. Remember, if they win, Americans will starve and freeze to death on the sidewalks.

If the repubs continue to lose elections, it will soon be---"election canceled because we don't think it will truly reflect the will of the people. We have reliable inside knowledge that it was going to be rigged. We will be installing a slate of approved candidates forthwith."

    AND THAT WILL BE ACCEPTED!!

Excerpt: Lindell said he had flown to Nashville on Monday to attend the three-day meeting starting on Tuesday, but that only a few minutes after he collected his credential at the JW Marriott Hotel, an event coordinator in the lobby told him he was not allowed at any of the official RGA events.I just made one of those credentials on my computer.

My take on this is that republicans/conservatives always tout ‘murica as being a republic. Have you ever heard a Republican mention the word democracy? If the republicans keep calling this country a republic there minions will forget what the word democracy means.

A republican form of government is one type of democracy. There are others, like direct democracy where people vote on all issues. In ours, the constitution ensures a Republican for of government where we elect representatives and senators to go and do the work in Washington. The constitution does no say the Republican Party is who we have to accept as our leadership. The Republican Party and a Republic are not the same thing. Arizona used to call itself The Confederate Republic of Arizona ... and had nothing to do with the Republican Party.

"Republic" is sometimes defined as a "representative democracy". We are also a constitutional democracy, in the sense that the power of the people is constrained by the limits of our basic charter and the "checks and balances" we learn about in civics classes. And we're a "liberal democracy" , since our individual liberties are protected from the majority. At the time the Founders set it up, democracy was associated with Athenian style direct democracy, or mob rule. Democracy caught on, though, in the nineteenth century, and the U.S. tried to keep up by implementing direct election of Senators and universal suffrage. America Wasn’t a Democracy, Until Black Americans Made It One
We certainly have plenty of undemocratic eighteenth century atavisms holding democracy back--the Electoral College, the filibuster, etc--but relatively speaking, we better qualify as a "democratic republic" than most nations that use that moniker .The U.S. is a Democratic Constitutional Republic, and Yes, It Matters
Is the U.S. a Democracy? A Social Studies Battle Turns on the Nation’s Values (Published 2019)
However, in 2017 the Economist Intelligence Unit demoted the U.S. from a full democracy to a "flawed" democracy because of weak governance, an underdeveloped political culture and low levels of political participation. What countries would be examples of true, unflawed democracies, according to the EIU? Top 5: Norway, Iceland, Sweden, New Zealand, and Canada.

The studies all show that testing someone's dna is the best way to determine how they vote, and that republicans and democrats both hate each other, more then they trust their own parties. There is no GOP, because nobody is representing any party. They turned politics into blue smoke and mirrors, that were all developed on Wall Street and in La La Land. The assholes knew damned well they were dealing with brainless chickens, or they were one themselves.
