"The emails illustrate the behind-the-scenes efforts Trump's White House took to pressure federal officials while he simultaneously pushed the same false claims on Twitter. The messages were sent from mid-December to early January and were made public by House Oversight and Government Reform Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y.

Among the efforts was pressure on the Department of Justice to intervene in lawsuits being pursued by Trump's campaign and supporters to get the Supreme Court to overturn the results.

At the end of December, Trump’s White House assistant emailed then-Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen and other top Justice Department officials with a draft legal brief that the president wanted them to file with the Supreme Court. Kurt Olsen, a private attorney for Trump, also contacted department officials requesting the federal agency file the brief.

The 54-page brief called on the Supreme Court to declare that Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona and Nevada had administered the 2020 presidential election in violation of the Electors Clause and the 14th Amendment, claiming that the states changed election rules without legislative action. All six were swing states that Trump lost.

“Those unconstitutional changes allowed election irregularities in various forms,” said the complaint, which called on the high court to authorize a special election in those states to appoint new presidential electors."

According to a person familiar with the planning, the former President will host his first campaign-style rally in Cleveland on June 26 to support Max Miller, a former Trump administration official and campaign aide who is challenging incumbent GOP Rep. Anthony Gonzalez. The rally marks Trump's first public appearance on behalf of an insurgent Republican candidate -- something party leaders have been dreading from the moment Trump vowed to target GOP incumbents who either voted to impeach him or rejected his false claims of a stolen election.

Gonzalez, a Cleveland native who is seeking reelection for the second time after joining Congress in 2019, is one of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach then-President Trump earlier this year for inciting the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol. In addition to attracting a primary challenger, Gonzalez has been censured by Ohio Republican Party leaders and faced calls for his resignation.

In a statement endorsing Miller in February, Trump accused Gonzalez of failing to represent the interests of voters in Ohio's 16th Congressional District, despite Gonzalez's 26-point margin of victory in 2020."

 

How many times did SCOTUS refuse to hear, or ruled against trump in his election lawsuits? Yet, he still expected them to rule in his favor.

The GOP censured Gonzalez and sided with Trump and his insurrection at the Capitol.

Trump has selected Ohio as his first stop for his resumption of rallies, with Gonzalez as his first target, to avenge GOP members who either voted to impeach him in the House or voted to convict him in the Senate.

 

Maybe a lightning strike will take him out. I'd settle for divine intervention if necessary.

 

Gonzalez was reelected by a 26 point margin to his U.S. House seat in 2020.

 

They'd have to close trumps presidential library if someone forgot to return the book.
