That was awesome, Joe shaming the Republicans. Fucking Texas, what a bunch of scum bags. If I were the Democrats, I'd say, fucking arrest us - we still can't have a quorum on the poll tax with us in jail.

Reminds me of how the GOP did everything they could to cripple Obamacare (even before Trump).....and succeeded in several ways.....and then crowed at us: "See? Obamacare isn't working!"

From one that's used it, Obamacare is a great concept, helpful to those who have pre-existing conditions and those who were pretty much untouchable to insurance carriers. Being puked out of the business world in early 2019, with the scant $300/week 12 week unemployment payments in NC, I signed up for Obamacare and per all of its rules of income and subsidies, I qualified for a decent subsidy off the outrageous base price of about $800/mo for a rather crappy coverage with a whopper deductible. That was ok, it was only for a few months until I landed back in corporate America with some employer health coverage. So, comes tax time, the IRS decides since for the full year total, I was above the scant subsidy income limit, I had to pay back all of the subsidy, which was a smack in the head. If I was going to pay $800/mo for coverage, I could have found a far better plan (with more than one clinic-type doctor in the county) or a cheaper plan that was as bad. So, if anyone is between health plans beware. Also search for "short term " health coverage. It's basic catastrophic coverage at a very reasonable price to cover only the big stuff.

Mass media studies indicate that televisions and cellphones kill more people than cancer. Maybe scientists should create their own mass media. That way, they always know who to blame.

Traveling 1600 miles to support a lie of Trump.

Wisconsin man and his family charged in Capitol insurrection

    excerpt:

"The Munns are a nuclear family who left for Washington, D.C., from Borger, Texas. Kristi Munn appears to have posted numerous updates on their travels and experience at the events of Jan. 6. Three days later, a tipster pointed the FBI to her Snapchat account.

Soon after, Kristi Munn's Facebook page was no longer available, but investigators found pages for other family members. Some by Tom Munn seemed to urge attendance at the Jan. 6 rally in days leading up to it. One noted the family had made it to D.C. — "1,600 miles in 24 hrs!"

Using the Munns' photos on social media, investigators found them entering the Capitol through a window and milling about in other areas, on surveillance video. A sixth family member, identified in records as a minor, is seen inside the Capitol as well but is not charged."

An employee at a high school was able to identify Munn family members.

The Munn family brought a minor with them who was inside the Capitol.

Wisconsin man and his family charged in Capitol insurrection

    excerpt:

An employee at the high school in Borger, Texas, where many of the Munn children attended helped verify the photos as the Munn family, investigators wrote.

According to the court records, Josh Munn posted on his own Facebook page, "Before you hear it on the news I am I [sic] family marched on DC today it was extremely cool we did enter the Capitol building with the … Second group there was no violence from the protesters at all it all came from the police believe it or not … It was super cool everything was cool till the cop used tear gas that is when people got mad but still never hurt anyone.”

Someone replied to him, "Oh so u broke in?"

Munn replies that the window was already opened when they got to them.

“I love the poorly educated”—Read Donald Trump’s full Nevada victory speech

    excerpt:

"We won with young. We won with old. We won with highly educated. We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated. We’re the smartest people, we’re the most loyal people, and you know what I’m happy about? Because I’ve been saying it for a long time. 46% were the Hispanics—46%, No. 1 one with Hispanics. I’m really happy about that. "

Texas House Republicans vote to track down absent Democrats and arrest them if necessary

    excerpt:

"A showdown in the Texas House was locked into place Tuesday after the chamber voted overwhelmingly to send law enforcement after Democrats who left the state a day earlier in protest of a GOP priority elections legislation.

More than 50 House Democrats left Monday for Washington, D.C., to deny the chamber a quorum — the minimum number of lawmakers needed to conduct business — as it takes up voting restrictions and other Republican priorities in a special session.

That agenda, set by Gov. Greg Abbott, includes House Bill 3 and Senate Bill 1, the election legislation at hand that would make a number of changes to Texas' voting system, such as banning drive-thru and 24 hour voting options and further restricting the state's voting-by-mail rules. Over the weekend, both House and Senate committees advanced the election bills."

Can't have a quorum from jail, right? I fear for the intelligence of America, the one thing that's certainly one thing that's not bigger in Texas.

Too bad Texas law enforcement has no jurisdiction in Washington D.C.
If any Republicans actually know anything about the law they're just showboating.
I'm assuming they don't know anything.

Trump's rioters around Jensen were chanting USA! USA! while he was explaining they were storming the 'White House'.

The USA! chant has been old and corny since its overuse during the 9/11 era 20 years ago. Jensen made it even more trite and crass.

What we know about Doug Jensen, Iowan arrested by FBI after Capitol riot

    excerpt:

"FBI Public Affairs Specialist Amy Adams said Jensen faces five federal charges:
    • Knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority.
    • Disrupting the orderly conduct of government business.
    • Violent entry and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building.
    • Parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.
    • Obstructing a law enforcement officer during a civil disorder."
