Favorite movie or tv show intro

Game of Thrones is probably the best - I liked how there would be different sections of the “map” to reveal the different arcs. Too bad that series ended so badly, otherwise I miss it.

 

I didn’t think I would get into it. Binge watched all the episodes in Afghanistan (because there wasn’t much else to do), and ended up really liking it.

 

Same. The first few episodes of Season 1 were necessary and foundational, but took a full first season to hook me in.

Were you disappointed in the season finale?

 

I read the books, couldn't get into the show. Still waiting for the final book but judging from the reaction to the last season, I don't care much to read it when or if it is ever released.

Yea, I've heard that from friends who read the books, they didn't like the show as much. I think that's the case with many books vs film/series adaptations. GRRM should have finished the book when he was supposed to!

I didn't get into that show, really. I wonder why so many decent series end so badly. The Walking Dead is on life support, and really someone...needs to pull the plug, already. I think the series finale is coming up, and ends next year.

Speaking of TWD, the opening isn't bad. lol

 

I couldn’t get into The Walking Dead. Don’t care much for zombie flicks.

 

Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul (thus far) are the best shows I've ever seen on the idiot box.

I couldn't get past all the sexposition and gratuitous gore. Made it feel juvenile and tainted to me.

 

I hear you, that's HBO, unfortunately. Interestingly, all of that tapered off as the series went on. It was as though HBO didn't believe in the story enough, and had to add all of that to it. It was the story itself that attracted people.

Breaking Bad, ugh. I couldn't get into that show at all. Idk why, maybe it just seemed silly to me that a teacher dying of cancer chose to break the law, as some type of YOLO manifesto?

 

I liked the survivalist aspect of it, like this is what we'd have to do if we're living off the grid.
