Maps are good for the big picture. I can spread out a map of a state and see where things are in relation to other things. I still use a Gazetteer for back roads. Also I read books. I hate to read books on a computer or similar device.
I look over maps at the beginning of a trip, get the basic route in my head, but I've become reliant on my GPS app. I use WAZE. I've learned to ask it for a route carefully though or it might not give you the shortest way.
I prefer torch welding to a mig and I still catch myself calling refrigerators ice boxes on occasion.
My memories of the Bronx come from riding the train in and out of the city, to upstate New York. I remember a place just north of the Bronx where the train tracks go under Sing Sing prison, which is where one was "sent up the river." But as I said there is beauty everywhere, you just have to look for it
Well it shouldn't be, when it's obviously the more ecological choice. Imagine all the plastic we would save, when the return of the good old fashioned soap bar would render the silly plastic bottle obsolete.
I have a bottle of hand soap by the sink but still use bar soap in the shower. Unless I'm showering with a woman, then I use body wash. It's more fun washing her from head to toe that way. And for her to wash me.
to put it simply, datedness, whateverthehell that's supposed even to mean, has no bearing on my choice of anything. cheapness does, consideration does, but there is nothing better or worse about old or new for its own sake. plays no role in fitting top spec to task at hand, availability and utility. i'll use a flaked stone to cut with if that's whats at hand, or a plasma beam if that is. as for style, that i base on imagination, starting with my own.
i use bars of soap that are round and have a paw print on one side. (i doubt you'll find it in any store, other then the dealer's room at a furry convention) contactcaffeine.com is their website, in case anyone is curous. although i also use common liquid dish soap for personal hygene, from the 99cent store when i run out.
