Wisconsin election probe includes $325,000 for data analysis | AP News

    excerpt:

"MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Nearly half of the money being spent on a Republican-ordered investigation into Wisconsin’s 2020 presidential election is earmarked for data analysis related to voting machines, a contract released Wednesday spelling out how the $676,000 in taxpayer money will be spent shows.

The Associated Press obtained the contract entered into by Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman, who is leading the probe, under the state open records law.

It shows that $325,000 is set aside for a data analysis contractor under the category of “voting machines,” a focus of the investigation. It also sets aside $25,000 each for Gableman to pay five investigators. Gableman is to be paid $55,000 over the life of the contract, which runs from Aug. 1 through the end of the year.

There is also $15,000 earmarked for communications, $50,000 for attorney fees, $25,000 for travel, $16,000 for an assistant to Gableman and $50,000 for court reporting.

The contract calls for using taxpayer money on the probe, not campaign donations or other funds as was done in a widely discredited election audit in Arizona."

Problem with that is anti-vaxxers are stupid, will refuse to take the stupidity vaccine, and remain stupid. A catch-22 situation.

'Worst choice of my life': Ex-cop gets prison time for Capitol riot after reportedly crying at sentencing

    excerpt:

"Former Houston Police Officer Tam Dinh Pham was sentenced to 45 days in prison for his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Pham, who was turned in by his own police chief, told FBI agents he was inside the Capitol for 15 minutes where "he looked at the historical art on the walls and took photographs and videos inside."

In September, Pham pleaded guilty to a petty misdemeanor offense of parading, demonstrating or picketing inside the Capitol Building.

“I’m so sorry for what I did. I made the worst choice of my life. I didn’t plan to go into the Capitol. I stupidly followed people in there," Pham told the judge, according to WUSA-TV correspondent Eric Flack, who said the former police officer was "in tears."

“The day I was on TV (after his arrest) my sister in Vietnam called and said the whole village watched me. I lost my reputation and my career and brought shame on my family, especially my children. I dishonored my department," Pham said."

Well at least now we know why he was downplaying the January 6th attack since his son was just a tourist visiting the capitol ...lol..

Tucker Carlson says son was in U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6

Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who has used his considerable platform as the most-watched cable news personality to spread conspiracy theories about and downplay the severity of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, revealed this week that his son was inside the building that day — and that Carlson was in communication with him the entire time.

He made the comments Thursday during a recording of "The Fourth Watch Podcast," hosted by right wing commentator Steve Krakauer. Carlson's admission came in response to a question about his recently released "Patriot Purge" documentary, which spreads a number of debunked conspiracies about the storming of the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6 — most notably the idea that the entire things was a "false flag" operation spearheaded by "deep state" operatives in the FBI and other national security agencies.

The GOP is still having difficulty accepting the fact that the demographics of Georgia have changed significantly.

‘It’s having its moment’: Georgia to offer litmus test for Trump and Democrats

    excerpt:

“If you go back to right before the 2008 election, Georgia was 53% white and Christian. Today it’s 41% white and Christian. Just between the beginning when Barack Obama was running and today, things have changed quite dramatically. It also has this urban-rural divide that so many states, particularly southern and peripheral south states, have: Atlanta and its suburbs versus the rest of the more rural state.”

Just as she did in 2018, Abrams is likely to make voting rights a central issue. During that campaign, she highlighted serious election issues in Georgia, including the way the state was disproportionately flagging Black voters for potential removal from the rolls and a surge in polling place closures in the state.

NY Attorney General Letitia James Wants Former President Trump To Testify In Trump Organization Investigation

New York’s attorney general wants former President Donald Trump to testify in an ongoing civil investigation into his business practices, a source familiar with the matter confirmed to CBS News.

Attorney General Letitia James’ office has requested Trump sit for a deposition on Jan. 7, a source familiar with the matter confirmed to CBS News.

A spokesperson for the Manhattan district attorney’s office, which is conducting a parallel criminal investigation into Trump’s business dealings, said Thursday that the interview request “is not part of the criminal investigation.”
